The Epic has a longer reach because of shorter fork, evo with 120mm fork has a resulting shorter reach. Also the SID Brain fork were the baddest forks. I also ever had problems with brains since 2011 until today. So i used a yoke EP03 from bikeyoke and installed a regular sidluxe, also swapped the brain to race day 2. Best decision ever. Also saving close to 400 gr. Incl. Twistloc.
@@bicyclestation are you stoked on your green s works build? Ridden much? I’m seeing same bike tomorrow. But don’t wanna miss the flight attendant fun with buying an epic that’ll be antiquated 😔
I sold mine a few months ago and got an evo. I’d personally wait. I know we’re at the ends of Specialized’s 3 year product cycle and that bike won’t be able to be retro fitted
The reach on the epic is 10mm longer than the evo for the simple reason that the evo has a 10mm shorter stem. That is it. Front triangles are identical.
Ok, then the 10mm difference in suspension stroke on the evo, in other words the decrease in head angle by 0.5deg, tilts the frame backwards and shortens the horizontal projection on the ground (reach) by 10mm. Turn the flip chip on the rear shock on the high setting and the evo reach should increase back to the epic value, considering that the head angle increases by 0.5deg according to their statement.

Do you think flight attendant will be for standard epic or just 120mm version bikes like the EVO and the Spark Nino rides
Probably every bike will get it if I had to guess

Geometry charts don’t take stem length into account when calculating the reach. The bike is physically 10mm different.
