    great informative video. Just got my cub cadet for my 3 acres. can't wait to use it. question: if you run out of gas mid job and have more yard to mow, can you just turn it off and put more gas in? or, do you have a cool down time period?

    • @fixitFlip

      You can definitely just add gas right away! I maintain 9 acres of a park in the summers and I do it every day! (with a different mower) But I do it with this mower as well.

    Thank you for your step by step summary of the Cub Cadet XT1. I recently purchased the 46” version, and found your video very helpful in getting me comfortable with its operation. Of particular interest is your segment on its cruise control. Following your instruction, my cruise control does not work. Thanks for the tips. Not sure if it's based on opinion, but wouldn't you want to engage the PTO at mid throttle level? I thought full throttle PTO engagement will damage the belt to the pulleys. I guess it's personal preference though.
    I've always lowered the throttle all the way down to turtle before turning off the mower. Again, personal preference I guess lol
    I've also heard the oil drain tube can be prone to leaks. I've seen where you can replace it with a John Deere part #AM131611 oil drain tube instead because it uses the same threads and makes it easier to drain the oil and the cap that is on the tube is made better quality.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I believe it should be in high throttle before you engage the PTO.
      I've actually made a part like that John Deere spout before in one of my videos: ruclips.net/video/9qwxmas3ucw/видео.html
      And yes, I'm not a huge fan of the yellow plastic drain valves. They don't last very long.

      That is “break in engine oil” and there may be bits of stuff that has worked its way into the oil you want to get out from when it was made - also the seals and everything may use some oil - so you want to not let it get low
