I got my 2019 C-HR 3 months ago, and I love it. I watched your video on the car many times, and found it very helpful. This is also helpful, but can you explain how to go back and forth from Entune to Apple CarPlay? I appreciate what I've learned from you.
Glad to hear you've been enjoying our videos! Thank you! To get back and forth between the systems all you have to do is: plug in your phone and wait for the projection button to turn into Apple CarPlay, which allows you to enter the system. To exit back to Entune, just click on the app called 'Toyota'
Car Confections thank you!
ok im only .29 seconds into this review and the fact that you up front displayed the "table of contents" with their corresponding time stamps earns you an immediate thumbs up. I'd give you 5 if allowed. Superb idea and attention to detail.
Thanks Gary!
Thanks for taking the time to make this Video, I for one appreciate that :-)
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Good video. Very clear and on-point. Saved me time reading through the manual. You do great videos, been a subscriber since watching the first one a couple of months ago. Keep up the excellent work. 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much! And glad to hear you found the video helpful!
Can u make a video how to update software and get apple carplay in 2019 camry
Thanks for this!
Great vid . straight to the point and very helpful
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you!
Hi! Does Entune 3.0 have to be on your phone in order for Apple CarPlay to actually work or will just plugging the phone in get it to work without the app? Thanks so much!
One I disconnect the USB from my iPhone after getting Carplay up it wont reconnect wirelessly! I am going crazy, please help!
Do you know if this is available in Europe soon?
I have a Corolla 2019 hybrid sports 2.0L
Hi, I'm in Australia and bought my Toyota CHR in June 2019, should of waited 6 months for apple car play, meh....My question is would those usb apple car play dongles work? for me to be able to get car play???
Nice video, I have a couple questions I hope you can help confirm for me. I’m looking at the 2019 Camry XLE, which for some reason seems like it doesn’t even offer the built in dynamic navigation? That makes no sense to me, but oh well. My main question then is if I am using Apple Maps through CarPlay, does that take up the whole screen, and stop me from being able to easily change/adjust music/radio and everything else? Can I have Apple maps on part of the screen, and my radio/music currently playing on it as well? I know it sounds like a small thing, but it’s almost a dealbreaker for me. I can’t believe they wouldn’t just offer real nav on one of the higher level trims in 2019. The scout app seems like a buggy nightmare according to most people.
So you won't be able to split the screen into 2 different sections, however my understanding is that you can operate the radio then launch Apple CarPlay and have both working simultaneously. You would have to switch back and forth between the two though. As far as the first question, Apple Maps or Google Maps would both run in full screen
Is XM traffic available with this system? Thanks
Is there a way to speak a text to send instead of sending pre-written options? I have a 2017 Highlander.
Nicely done! Is the infotainment system in the 2020 Highlander Platinum (12.3” screen) also Entune 3, or a different system.
It is also Entune 3.0 except with an additional secondary display
Entune 3.0 in the 2018 camry XLE is garbage. I'm offered by my dealer a download of Apple Car Play, what will be different?
I just did this update on my 2018 camry xse i finally have Apple CarPlay
I wish they would upgrade the 2019 Toyota Highlander it's not right we have a newer car but yet older systems are getting it
the entune has wifi but when i connect my phone and try to say search for something on phone t wont work i dont know why
i just bought a 2019 Tacoma and im having to deal with this entune bs jus to find out it’s not in service anymore i don’t know hot to fix the delay either on my audio and set up apple car play
Good video. SAD they do not still have Android Auto.
how can I install navigation app because my prius 2020 not have it installed
I bought mine used - does anyone know how to update the map (since the free 3 yrs is about to expire)?
Does the navigation route you to the best route as far as traffic. Like Waze does?
You can use Waze on this system.
I just purchased a 2018 RAV4 with Entune. I see the software can be updated. Will an update allow me to get Apple CarPlay?
While Toyota could possibly update the system, I doubt they will since the RAV4 uses old hardware that currently does not even run Entune 3.0. But they haven't made any official announcements. Hope this helps!
yes check now
The beep sounds reminds me of 80s
You can turn off the beep.
I love my 18 Camry SE but the Entune app sucks! I wish that they would push CarPlay through an update. I’m stuck with this App based Nav until I can pay down the car enough to trade it in to another auto maker unless Toyota show their customers that they are loyal to them and push CarPlay or Android play to the unit.
is this showing how to ugprade to entune 3?
Absolutely agree
Great intro when the car's not at hand.
The 2019 Toyota Entune Plus is meant to be used with iPhone XR Max and CarPlay WIRELESSLY correct? So why does it not reconnect when I pull the usb out? It doesn't even acknowledge carplay is there Resorts to Entune app and scout link. I thought once you configure the first use of Carplay with your USB cable and iPhone from there it will be carplay everytime you get in the car and turn it on wirelessly to your iPhone via Bluetooth. RIGHT? PLEASE ASSIST ME!!!
CarPlay does NOT work wirelessly in Toyota's. The only vehicles that have that functionality are BMW's and Audi's
Can you tell me where do I buy that kit
Can't wait till Entune 6.0 comes out ,iheart radio large layoffs app still works , Pandora not available anymore , who uses Google play these days? No Android yet . the over the air updates for navigation are not that accurate as Google maps ,off about 30min delay from my travels with accident, Toyota needs to improve in this area, but definitely happy with new larger screens. Also with navigation is great knowing where rest stops are for road trips

I just purchased a 2018 RAV4 with Entune Premium. I see the software can be updated. Will an update allowing me to get Apple CarPlay come available? Thanks. Great video.
Thanks! Toyota has not said yet which cars will be able to get the update. I will say, however, that the RAV4 uses older style hardware so that could pose some problems for updates.
Car Confections I just realized my 2018 didn’t come with Entune 3.0. :( so I’ll likely be out of luck. Thanks for responding.
It is posible to connect a reverse camera?
Is there a way to tell air pressure in tires? I can’t find it
That function is found in the multi-function display located in the gauge cluster
I am still paying for my 2017 Toyota Corolla le with ENTUNE AUDIOPlus, my problem is , the dealership I purchased the car in Puerto Rico, the car was delivered to my house and I was in a plane, on my way home now they never updated the car screen information witch happened to be their responsibility, I was so excited about the car, then I found out about the flash drive update, 5 years later, I can get to call and get Bluetooth connection, with message but that is it, what can I do
I’m thinking of buying a used 2018 Highlander... does 18’ Highlander have entune 3.0??
No. Even the 2019 does not have it
Car Confections would it be updatable? Or require retro hardware swap?
@@AJCoReTV Toyota, as of right now, does not offer any way to update to Entune 3.0. So if you want Android Auto or Apple CarPlay you would have to switch to different hardware
Car Confections any recommendations on swapping the headunit, something that retains steering wheel button control & stock settings.
Can you connect iphone / Apple CarPlay via USB and then connect android phone via bluetooth at the same time?
I don't think so. When you connect to the USB it establishes a Bluetooth connection automatically, so you won't be able to have more than one device active at a time
I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma off road - will there be an update to Entune 3.0 so I can access CarPlay?
Toyota hasn't made any official announcements about it yet
Car Confections - it would be nice since the truck wasn’t cheap and I love it , would be awesome with CarPlay.
@@threekats7610 Yeah for sure! That was really one of our only complaints about the Tacoma
My daughter has apple CarPlay in her Honda. I bought my tundra thinking it was in all new Toyotas. Boy was I wrong.
Just purchased a 2018 Mazda 6. Great car, but no Apple CarPlay. Is it available as a software download, or would I need to get a whole new unit installed. Apologies in advance if you covered this in yourreview and I missed it.
You will be able to update the software once it becomes available. Great car!
Do you know if 2018 sienna will get a CarPlay near future as an upgrade?
Toyota has not made any announcements about retroactively updating vehicles. I imagine that they won't update older models until after they have it rolled out to most of their new cars first (right now it's only on the 2019 Avalon). Hope this helps!
I wanted to say I really appreciate your videos. You make cars easy to understand :) Jeff
Thanks!! Glad you like them!!👍
Totally! I do Toyota reviews and how-to's on my channel so it's nice to see your work! I subscribed also...have a great day! Jeff
Hi, are you going to do a Android
auto tutorial?
Great question. I hope they do. I just bought one with Android Auto. Would love a detailed review
Okay enough with the chirping 🫨
I got my 2019 corolla and it still has the old etune 2 😢 I wish I could update but it won’t
Sao bây giờ camry lại ko kết nối đc app Android auto nữa nhỉ
No apple car play on my new 2019 Tundra was almost a deal breaker. Hoping they update soon otherwise I’ll be replacing this crappy stock entune system😒 thanks for the info
you can install the software for it, I did with my 2019 4runner
how do you go about doing that.. @@edikharunian3495
@@edikharunian3495 yes please do tell, i'm a little peeved that my 19 taco didn't come with it either & it's obvious toyota doesn't have any intention of adding it to tacos before the 2020 model year
@@edikharunian3495 Really? following this.
Can i put my ipad?
Is it possible to project a RUclips video on the screen when in park?
Not that I know of but there could be a hack or something
I seen someone did it on RUclips but you have to jailbreak your iPhone and get an app called carbrige
had it for yrs never understood what it did or if had to pay.
how do you update gps map?
I just bought a 2019 camry se and it doesn’t have the car play option what do i do?
i have the same problem. i have 2019 corolla LE but it doesn't have carplay option
See if you can talk to your dealership they should be able to add it but I think that's kind of stupid that 2018 and higher don't have it I know the 2020s have Android auto and Apple carplay
@@youtubehits6701 hi, were you able to use car play on your 2019 corolla se? I have the car and can’t figure it out how to use it
Just got my 2019 Tacoma and it has the previous radio I’m so mad.
I just purchased a 2019 Avalon. I think it is pretty "cheesy" of Toyota to charge for maps, remote car start, etc. I understand the Wi-Fi from Verizon but the others???? Come on Toyota, don't be so cheap. BTW - I thought your video was very informative.
If navigation is in a Toyota, it is free. Toyota offers a separate connected service called navigation assistance but you don't have to buy that in order to use navigations and maps.
can I use apple car play with google maps instead of Apple Maps?
Yes you can
How come I cannot get remote start through my phone with the remote connect app & mine is a 2019, also how do you get Alexa to work???
You need to pay $8 a month or pay 500 to install it
And
You don’t need it.
$500 for a remote starter
@@christianmbabazi9722 I went to toyota and they told me I cannot get It In my car bc I have the basic Entune system
@@mavitzacoronado4054 you need to upgraded audio system for that 🤦. you could shop around for like a remote starter like at Best buy

"thankfully you can edit the password to be something more memorable" OMG who is gonna member' that? Im'a gonna use my phone to snap a pic of that if I need to.
I’ve nothing but trouble with entune on my 2019 Camry .
How do I cancel or stop navigation?!? So frustrating
Pressure speak button and say cancel route
Speak button, I gotta try that! Otherwise I had to go to recent then cancel recents, Yes, my 2016 Camry’s navigation and the message retrieve was much easier!!! Why did they make the system more difficult in the 2019?? I have a 2019 Camry SXE
Just bought a 2019 Tacoma Sport and no Apple Car Play...You would think a new $40k truck would have the latest tech... pretty lame.
We just reviewed that truck yesterday, and yeah it's pretty disappointing to not have that stuff at this point
I just bought Avalon 2019 and I didn’t find apple CarPlay app ? How to get it ?
Plus your iPhone into the USB port and projection will turn into CarPlay
Car Confections I tried but the system that i have is Mirrorlink which is only working with Android
Majed هلا اخوي انا عندي كامري و عندي نفس المشكلة
This looks like a Windows 98 still! I can't for the life of me understand why most car manufacturers especially Toyota sucks so bad, we are in 2019!!!! Powerful Computer chips are super cheap! And it's important for majority of people to have a easy smooth entraction with their system! It's safer too since people won't be using their phones all the time. Tesla is light years ahead in that department. These old minded people that control this need to be replaced!
Yeah, Tesla “The BURST INTO FLAMES 🔥 ON THE HIGHWAY! “
There's no point using scout GPS if you only use it for like three years then it doesn't work hopefully not the case
So the 2018 Camry doesn’t have Apple car play? But it has Entune 3.0
That is correct for now. Toyota may add it to the Camry but they haven't done it yet
We are hoping the 2019 Camry will add Apple CarPlay. I feel cautiously confident, since the 2019 Avalon has it!
Toyotajeff in Raleigh I am pretty sure that they will add it to the 2019 Camry. And I just hope that I could upgrade the Entune systems, so I will have Apple car play in my 2018 Camry.
Yeah let's hope so!!! toyotajeff
@@Toyotajeffwhat about adroid auto in 2019 avalon? Just spent 40k on new car with old tech, will they retro it, if it becomes available???
I’ll try, but I’ve been using a cell to navigate, and I can charge while I’m driving.
That Avalon screen and design looks almost identical to the Honda accord and also looks identical to the new Nissan altima..... What's going on in Japanese car design
Danny Kwok The Avalon monochrome infotainment screen looks nothing like the new Honda Accord. Now if you mean the Apple CarPlay portion - well yes that’s the whole point. CarPlay will look essentially the same on any manufacturers car.
Wish they offered a software simple update for the tacomas from 2.0 to 3.0 instead of gouging customers for more money to stuff their already fat wallets.
I just looked at a 2018 Camry, a 2018 Rav4 and a 2019 Camry. I HATE that Toyota doesn't seem to have a CD Player in the 2019 Rav4 or the Camry. IT SUCKS!
Yeah that shit is fucking retarded.
YEAH dumb shit Toyota
Hate that. I have hundreds of mixed CD's and my car was the only place I could listen to them without pissing off the neighbors.
What is a CD?
Big Papi canned duck!
Love my new Rav4---ONLY ONE THING I HATE!! -- After paying 40K I can't listen to my favorite radio stations cuz now you gotta pay every month!!! ISN'T 40K ENOUGH TO PAY WHAT YOU LOVE...BESIDES THE CAR???
Kasey Cort SiriusXM is not free. You get a three month trial, and after that you have to pay. SiriusXM has a deal for $5 a month all of the time. Give them a call and tell them you want the $5 a month plan. The plan is either 6 months or a year, then it goes up to the current rate. Put a reminder in your calendar a week before your plan will expire and call SiriusXM customer service and tell them you want to cancel. They will give you other price options, and tell them you want the $5 plan again and they will give it to you.
How come this is not available for the Corolla and what about Android Auto? I prefer Android over Apple
It'll be available on the all-new generation (2020) sedan that will debut this week and is already on the Corolla Hatchback
@@CarConfections Will 2019 Camry have the option to retrofit it?
We just bought a 19 Camry se last night. It has Apple CarPlay and entune 3.0
@@zkennedy2217 But no Android Auto, which I prefer over Apple CarPlay. It should have both, not just one. My 18 Corolla SE has Etune 2.0, which Toyota has not offered an upgrade for. But the new 2020 Corolla has Etune 3.0 and CarPlay. Don't you hate it they make you stuck with the old software version?
I prefer CarPlay and using Google Maps
Went from a 2018 tacoma to a 2020 tacoma and I consider the new radio a downgrade with better graphics and phone connection. Absolute garbage, why couldn't they leave in integrated navigation at least, in wv you dont have internet around every corner...such bs
OMG i have 2020 toyota corola and there is no carplay and no android auto wtf is this ?
Apparently Toyota is an Apple Sycophant.
Entune 3.0 sucks in the 2019 Toyota Corolla SE. No update news. No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I have to use my map on my phone.
If this is not in the 2019 Tacoma, I will be getting a '19 Chevy Colorado instead.
godwhomismike you gonna let go of truck that holds its value over a stereo? U can just buy a better one at Best Buy with apple carplay. Chevy colorados are nice but they dont hold their value years from now.
I took the Tacoma out on a 30 mile extended test ride in the mountains and I hated the transmission. It never wanted to kick down to a lower gear, which was a white knuckle inducing experience merging onto the interstate full of fast moving 18-wheelers.
2020 tacoma is supposed to update a lot of the current issues
Fuck Scout GPS. My mom got the 2019 corolla hatchback for herself with the Scout GPS instead of the more intelligent GPS and it's a pain in the ass to use. We brought it to Toyota just so they teach us how to use it and even to this day it stops working time to time.
Lame, no Android
so only an Apple phone can be used? need maps to work but i use LG..Android system
The new Entune 3.0 comes with Apple Car Play an Android auto
Blame android
They allowed hacking
Entune 3.0 in my 2018 Camry absolutely sucks. The apps don't register and are in accessible half the time. The Scout GPS freezes on anything longer than a 1t minute trip. I wish Toyota would make CarPlay available as an update in last year's model
Scout GPS is pure trash. I just purchased a brand new 2019 Camry SE and used scout gps and it is trash
@@mauricelee7299 I decided I just am going to buy a portable stand alone GPS system. Can't afford to get lost. Just bought a 2019 Camry xle. I thought it was supposed to have intergrated GPS. What a disappointment.
@@jxmar_ .....From what I've heard the so called "integrated " version won't work without your phone either, even though they say you can, and it's the same on the Avalon and people are not happy, so I'm glad I didn't get it. But you're right, you can't believe the salesman apparently.
@@jxmar_ Dude...I know what it means, and what it's supposed to do.....but ask some other people with a 2019 Camry or Avalon who paid for intergrated nav and can't use it without their phone. Toyota has for some reason decided to completely phase out truly intergrated nav and go to this Entune platform and it stinks. They announced that. I have an otherwise fully loaded XLE. The sales people are being deceptive, telling customers it is a feature that it is not, it's an app like you said.
Not in tune
They put XM in the 19' Avalon's but not the Camry's, that's bullshit! Toyota is way behind in technology! It seems like they are 10 years behind! The touchscreen (with XM) in a 2015 Dart is way ahead of the 19' Camry SE! WAY AHEAD! This should all be plug and play as well, not 'let's tweak it for an hour', and also, you shouldn't need your phone at all to run it! WTF? So I need my $750 phone to run it? Nice, my phone battery really appreciates that! Dropping the ball big time Toyota! And your transmissions are junk too! Never EVER buying a Toyota again!
