Point terrifically made Ruslan, very well articulated! I have one thing that always comes to my mind when contemplating this though... the act we revere the founding fathers for the most is the signing of the Declaration of Independence. They were not prioritizing their famies first, they were putting their own families heads on chopping blocks for the good of society at large in the future. And that is exactly what we respect the very most about it. This seems to contradict the point Ruslan is making, but I very much see both sides of it. Not sure how to work it out exactly. Something I'm still wrestling with.
I think you make a valid point, and it's something I pondered for a bit as well. Where I landed is I don't think they were doing it for society at large in the future. Instead, I believe they were motivated by a desire to secure a better life for their families, both present and future generations. They not only refused to continue living under the oppression of British rule, but they also wanted to ensure that their wives, children, grandchildren, and neighbors would not have to endure the same conditions. While there was certainly an element of working for the greater good, I don’t believe it was the core reason. Rather, their personal beliefs and commitment to a better future for their families aligned with the broader need for change, further strengthening their resolve.
I think what is the most worrisome is how the context of these verses as you explained are being used to justify completely cutting off entire communities and people that are not of here, and I hear some of you say that there are finite resources even for the people here, but the reason I reject this reasoning is bc it’s coming from the same leaders that neglect to tax the ultra wealthy and resources, and hold accountable those same leaders that prioritize corporations over their own constituents. We talk about an order of priorities, maybe we can start there.
If they are brothers and sister in Christ, i believe yes because they are family. I understand that a country should take care of their borders, but I do not believe one country should be threaten the sovereignty of another especially when that country has been your best friends for a long time! @RuslanKD
@@RuslanKD I think the problem is that JD Vance is just picking straws and using it specifically about the border and nothing else, especially since all of these biblical passages has nothing to do with modern border laws, strong borders are necessary, but strategically using the bible to enforce them is wrong. He should have just made his case without using the bible to justify it.
Not biblical at all loving your family is a natural instinct that exists across every culture and religion the bible has more references to love thy neighbor, the lessor, the sick, the weary than anything else. True Christianity has introduced the idea of loving strangers outside one’s family to many it’s one of the things that make it unique in that the focus is upon loving those outside of its orthodoxy
This very reasonable, acceptable comment is only unreasonable for those that have traded sweet for bitter, and good for bad. We live in an Isaiah 5:20 generation.
The best a christian can do - is love every person on Earth like himself. But of course - you can’t love a foreigner more as you love your family and actual neighbors - bc in most cases you cant help them directly, you can’t preach to them directly. So first people that you are told to help as a christian is your closest ones, because they are like your enemies until they are saved. And what are we asked to do with enemies? Love them, pray for them and help them.
Ruslan, please be careful how you interpret the rules Paul put in place for a completely different time from ours...different times, different challenges, even different government styles... Lets also be careful how we let a Politician tell us how to behave as Christians... politicians are by nature seeking division so as to rule blocks of people, i do not think its appropriate for us to have JD Vance as a standard for this discussion... the republican party is not the church, let's not get to the point where a criticism of the politics of the republican party now become a criticism of the church and you are slowly beginning to enable this... nobody wants open borders even the democratic party and Obama deported people but respectfully without demeaning them... This branding of "open borders", is Trumps branding... please be careful and think this through and be church about it.
Ahhh. With one side of your impartial lips you declare yourself impartial implicitly, yet end your tirade by being implicitly partial from the other side of your lips.
This is the worst biblical interpretation I have EVER heard. 1. We are to LOVE everyone. 2. Their is NO hierarchy mentioned in Ephesians. It simply states AGAIN to love your wife. Not that you have to love your wife more than anyone else. 3. “Especially”doesn’t negate do good to all people”. And do good, is a work, 4. “Provide”and “love” are to different things and words.. of course you feed YOUR family, first. God says he will provide for all your needs. This is talking about PERSONALLY financing your family. This is not about LOVE. 5. NONE of the scriptures mentions nationality or country. In fact, the Bible states we are citizens of the Kingdom. America First isn’t biblical. Kingdom first IS.
this is pretty sad from ruslan. it is perfectly sensible to make an argument to prioritize your family but literally no Christian said 'love the neighbor' in expense of your family.
Exactly look at Jesus. His family didn't believe in him. His local community didn't believe in him. The ruling authorities hated him. The first person he revealed him to was a hated Samaritan women.
We cannot fall into piety. In Christ, there is no one who stands differently. That is true. But nations are a thing-- read Romans 13... The state has a role and an obligation to protect it's people and extinguish evil. America First is simply we want the government to care for the American people First. We don't want them fighting proxy wars in the middle east when we suffer here with suicide, opioids, and immigrant invasions that lead us further from being a Christian nation.
He is also speaking as one who is in government, since God has set government above people. Even in a society with an evil government, all people need a government. So I've often considered how the Biblical duties of a person versus a King or government are thought-provoking.
Ruslan 100% agree! On of the reasons Christians in America don’t do more to help people, is debt and not having our own house in order. When our house is in order, when we are debt free; we can be generous with all that we have. But if we have debt we have to get out of debt first. But you’re right about priorities, it’s all throughout scripture
As a Catholic married with the Sacrament of Marriage- I can concur with my Catholic brother JD. We are taught in scripture how to fulfill the 2nd commandment. It’s through chastity. Collectively as disciples of Christ we can help the masses. We Catholics understand through scripture in the epistles that the Father of the household makes us husbands the high priest of our household. In regards to border control, we can see that it’s always been a problem since the Old Testament. Jesus, tells us to give to Cesar what belongs to Cesar and to give to God what belongs to God. Scripture in the epistles tells us to respect our church leaders and all authorities. Christian teachings from the Bible and the early church.
This video is an irresponsible and gross misrepresentation of the scripture. All of the biblical examples you use are referring to households. You cannot use this to justify Christian Nationalism. Please stop viewing text via a political lens. This is irresponsible
"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment." Do you blindly follow based on this singular verse? Maybe using more scripture will deepen the understanding of the verse. This is one example of the dangers of using a singular verse.
As yourself suggests that we ought to love ourselves - period. Something we often shy away from talking about as followers of Christ. So yes, love our neighbors, but as we love ourselves. Self love is so crucial if we are going to define and show true neighborly love. I think thought he may not fully understand the full context of the text (I am growing too), he's off base with what he's articulating.
I don't think what he is using the scripture for is what it is meant for. So if I have two people living in my community, one is a Christian/American and the other is not, I should show love and compassion to the Christian/American first before attending to the other person? We assume that the Samaritan did not act sacrificially, who knows maybe he would have had to go explain to his wife and kids at home that he he had to sacrifice some of their convenience in order to save a stranger's life. I do believe this Country has a lot of reprioritization to do, there are a lot of things we have been involved in over the years (both democrats and republicans) to the detriment of our own people, but this scripture was not written to be used in the far left vs far right political battles.
What if they said right now we can’t when you came ? And I do agree with limiting and taking care of our son first but I still have that question for you.
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith
The problem with the way this idea could easily be applied is that your country is made up of many Christians each with different callings. Some are called to serve in their local community, some are called to overseas, some are called to help people beyond your borders while living in the US. This changing shift to America first is going to cost many charities and missions organisations who serve God by serving His children (and therefore their brothers and sisters) overseas. There is space to support all levels of God's work.
I think, even if it wasn’t biblical, it’s still the only logical way to do it. If your house is not in order, you can’t effectively help your neighbors. If you can’t help your neighbors, you can’t help your community. If you can’t help your community, you can’t help your country. And the opposite is true. By taking care of your family, you improve your neighborhood. By improving your neighborhood, you improve your community. By improving your community, you improve your country. A strong country can, in turn, help people from other countries.
The problem is that JD Vance implies that the Ordo Amoris justifies ousting immigrants out of the country. I am sure that Jesus does not like that. Leviticus 19:33-34: "When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God." This is in the same chapter as Leviticus 19:17: "you shall love your neighbor as yourself".
Also, Matthiew 5:47-48: "And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Think for yourselves what this means.
By breaking the existing laws of a country and creating your own self imaginary laws by using the Bible to support your warped humanistic ideas? Yea, sure. 😂
also the use of the word neighbor in the english versions of the bible cuts short alot of the meaning of the word in the original language (ancient greek)
When the disciples told Jesus his family was in the area u know what his response was? He said those who do the Will of God is his family. That goes beyond blood family, beyond boarders and citizenship.
(I use Microsoft Bing search engine, and I copy and paste I look into protecting its own country in the Old Testament-In the Old Testament, the Bible emphasizes protecting one's own country through repentance, prayer, and seeking God's face12. The concepts of guarding and protecting are deeply embedded in biblical narrative, reflecting both divine and human responsibilities3. The Bible encourages a balance of respecting authority, seeking peace, ensuring justice, and prioritizing God's kingdom45. The concept he mentions is a catholic called "ordo Amoris". Paul wrote also in Galatians 6:2 " bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of christ" Paul also wrote in Galatians 6:5 " For every man shall bear his own burden." How can this country be fix if its trying to fix everybody problems. it reminds me when Jesus went into the house of the little girl that was dead and there was a lot of people around crowding and Jesus told them that the little girl was only sleeping and told them to leave because they were making a lot of commotion. God and Country. like your youtube channel
I'm sorry but you and many Christians are wrong about this. Your political opinions have blinded you. As Americans we are the most privileged people to ever walk the earth. If you make more than 100k and you can't take care of your family then you are a sinner. You're either a greedy, a glutton, or whatever. We should be helping people no matter what nationality, and whatever opinion you have that goes against this is not biblical.
America is the most privileged on earth. Soooo… everything rises and falls with America only?? All the other top (say 20%) privileged nations aren’t allowed in this discussion because they’re of a different persuasion??? Which country is more privileged: the one that has the largest economy in the world and still has its citizens pay graduated taxes or those where their wealth is so immense that none of its citizens pay ANY taxes??
@Yj-Fj we have the largest economy in the world yet we have a horrible homeless crisis and our cities are falling apart. If the upper class actually did something about it we wouldn't need taxes. But the problem is their all talk and no action.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)
I do not disagree with the scripture that is being used, but I do disagree with the way it is being applied, and it makes your stance very disingenuous, and is being used in a similar way, that the Europeans used scripture to manipulate slavery. There is priority in how we should love and who we should love, but we must not act as if the way that Trump and his political party, is the way that is Christlike. Yes care for home first (Americans) but Christians should not align with devilish tactics to do so. That is the problem, and using scripture to twist and justify such behavior is also defying the word of God, just like the Europeans in Slavery,
I think you’re confusing prosperity doctrine with caring. Not all caring is about spending money. Their are didn’t kinds of love and I think we need to look at the Greek and Hebrew translations because the English translations can be limiting. I agree there is a hierarchy but I think the danger there is that it’s then easy to justify not looking after widows and orphans or our neighbor. I am also an immigrant but I think you are forgetting that travel restrictions in ancient times was very different. The Roman Empire allowed forigners to work within the Roman Empire but with restricted legal rights. We have an issue in this country where many Americans are refusing to work. We need field laborers. Yes they should be documented and pay taxes but the USA is facing a decreasing population and as musk says a population collapse. We need to figure out how to balance that out as well as stopping the criminals from entering the country. We also need to be careful we don’t become far right or far left politically and remain moderate. Disappointed you didn’t warn against swing to far towards looking after just your family and yourself and ignoring the lords other commandment’s. I you could have gone into more depth which I know is difficult but I think you missed a lot of things here.
Even the great commission breaks down our instruction for where to go first… close to home then further and further into all the world… Pretty basic … but we are in the end times, so the world thinks it’s absurd… sounds about right…
Love your neiborgh... love the one who takes care of you on your foes (the samaritan)... it does not say love the one in need... but the opposite. Allthough at the end asks to help those in need but not as yourself...❤
Scripture does not interpret scripture. Human beings often interpret scripture badly, jumping around the Bible and pretending that it is univocal. It does not help the Christian cause to people who know better yet want to believe. Outside of these very specific bubbles, better scriptural reasoning is needed.

Hahahahahahah 🤣🤣🤣
Systems exist and these are the same talking points that would’ve made a lot of us perpetuate the inequality throughout the 1900s!
Not Ruslan busting out the Logos! Sheeeesh! 🙌🏾
Everybody in the United States isn’t apart of the family of believers 😂…man we will twist the Bible to say somethings won’t we
Are you responsible for believers in another country at the expense of your own family?
If they are brothers and sister in Christ, i believe yes because they are family. I understand that a country should take care of their borders, but I do not believe one country should be threaten the sovereignty of another especially when that country has been your best friends for a long time! @RuslanKD
@@RuslanKD I think the problem is that JD Vance is just picking straws and using it specifically about the border and nothing else, especially since all of these biblical passages has nothing to do with modern border laws, strong borders are necessary, but strategically using the bible to enforce them is wrong. He should have just made his case without using the bible to justify it.
I don’t think he was using the Bible to enforce his policies. I think there is a christian virtue ethic he’s speaking to.
Great take Ruslan
Not biblical at all loving your family is a natural instinct that exists across every culture and religion the bible has more references to love thy neighbor, the lessor, the sick, the weary than anything else. True Christianity has introduced the idea of loving strangers outside one’s family to many it’s one of the things that make it unique in that the focus is upon loving those outside of its orthodoxy
This very reasonable, acceptable comment is only unreasonable for those that have traded sweet for bitter, and good for bad. We live in an Isaiah 5:20 generation.
Excellent analysis
The best a christian can do - is love every person on Earth like himself. But of course - you can’t love a foreigner more as you love your family and actual neighbors - bc in most cases you cant help them directly, you can’t preach to them directly. So first people that you are told to help as a christian is your closest ones, because they are like your enemies until they are saved. And what are we asked to do with enemies? Love them, pray for them and help them.
WELL SAID!
The story about Jesus and the Syrophoenician woman is pretty clear that there is a hierarchy. I'm not American by the way. I'm from Indonesia.
Amen, I was getting so frustrated having my Christianity thrown in my face with this topic.
First, we love God, then our families, then our neighbors.......
Definitely makes sense!
And do good, is a work,
Well said
preach!
He is also speaking as one who is in government, since God has set government above people. Even in a society with an evil government, all people need a government. So I've often considered how the Biblical duties of a person versus a King or government are thought-provoking.
Cesar’s taxes was a thing in the Bible
The shocking part is their tax rate
Ruslan 100% agree! On of the reasons Christians in America don’t do more to help people, is debt and not having our own house in order. When our house is in order, when we are debt free; we can be generous with all that we have. But if we have debt we have to get out of debt first.
But you’re right about priorities, it’s all throughout scripture
Agreed 100%
JD is a great VP !!!!!!
Oh JD, thats the guy who said "DEI hires" make it stressful for everyone else. Very christ list behavior.
You obviously can’t see true justice through your wokie glasses.
Amen! Becuase if you can't even take care of yourself and your own family. Then HOW can you take care of your community or other nations?
"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment."
Do you blindly follow based on this singular verse? Maybe using more scripture will deepen the understanding of the verse. This is one example of the dangers of using a singular verse.
…..Say more things thou….
1 Timothy 5:8.
But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.
What if they said right now we can’t when you came ? And I do agree with limiting and taking care of our son first but I still have that question for you.
1 Timothy 5:8
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel
Galatians 6:10
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith
Time for everyone to order their copy of City of God, by Augustine. Start reading up, people.
He didn't say it was scripture. He said it was a Christian concept.
Kinda like venerating Saints isnt in scripture but, it's a Catholic concept.
This one is biblical though.
So to sum up this video get yourself together and your family then everyone else
The problem is that JD Vance implies that the Ordo Amoris justifies ousting immigrants out of the country. I am sure that Jesus does not like that.
Leviticus 19:33-34: "When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."
This is in the same chapter as Leviticus 19:17: "you shall love your neighbor as yourself".
Also, Matthiew 5:47-48: "And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Think for yourselves what this means.
By breaking the existing laws of a country and creating your own self imaginary laws by using the Bible to support your warped humanistic ideas?
Yea, sure. 😂
Don’t let Tim Whitaker see this video 😂
Mat. 15:24-28 and Acts 1:8 show that Jesus Himself also had priorities.
100% agree
also the use of the word neighbor in the english versions of the bible cuts short alot of the meaning of the word in the original language (ancient greek)
When the disciples told Jesus his family was in the area u know what his response was? He said those who do the Will of God is his family. That goes beyond blood family, beyond boarders and citizenship.
Therefore only Christians
Nations with walls are 100% Biblical. God built the nations to bring Him glory. Go read Nehemiah and Romans.
Romans 13:1-2.
It is an ordered love
Because He is the God of order, not of confusion and chaos.
Dope
It is extensive because country is a political community - a community.
I have to tell you that, as a real practicing Catholic, I can tell you that is NOT Catholic doctrine!!!
Do male widows count in this context?
How is this controversial??? Love everyone but love your children and family more
You should’ve added this video under the payment wall too. Even better, just put all your content under that
You have to get your house in order first!
don't send them away
The charity starts at home concept
Even the great commission breaks down our instruction for where to go first… close to home then further and further into all the world…
Pretty basic … but we are in the end times, so the world thinks it’s absurd… sounds about right…
Love your neiborgh... love the one who takes care of you on your foes (the samaritan)... it does not say love the one in need... but the opposite. Allthough at the end asks to help those in need but not as yourself...❤
Scripture does not interpret scripture. Human beings often interpret scripture badly, jumping around the Bible and pretending that it is univocal. It does not help the Christian cause to people who know better yet want to believe. Outside of these very specific bubbles, better scriptural reasoning is needed.
you are beginning to Troll
Nailed it.
What is your take on mass deportation of people who have been here for decades and even those who have been born here but their parents did not?
