    Beginner flowers often look better than advanced quilling - these are beautiful.

    I was fortunate enough to learn how to do this by hand, without the tool, from my grandma when i was a young lad. I wasnt aware you could get a tool but i think im definitely going to be investing in one.
    Ive yet to come across another man who does quilling which is a shame i think, you can make some fantastic pieces.

      We've never seen it done by hand, would be quite something to see. But yes, perhaps the tool would make things a little easier. It's a wonderful form of paper art that can be as varied in theme as your imagination allows.

    Your accent helps - sounds terribly similar to what I grew up with in Cowley near Uxbridge as a youngster.

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience and expertise. I have been watching various videos and none have touched on the problem I am having. I was so confused as to how these presenters were getting their coils to turn into the teardrop shapes so easily. I assumed it had to do with the length of strip but no video or directions in the beginners kit given to me addressed the issue. I don’t feel quite as stupid anymore thanks to you.
    I am now wondering if not using a pattern, as you mentioned, what is the standard length to use to make the various shapes as a beginner. I understand experience will tell me in the future, but for now, where should I start?
    I would be ever so grateful for any advice you are willing to share. Thank you.

      Hello, we are happy to hear the video has helped. Now the length all depends on the size of shapes you would like to make. Try experimenting with half strip or quarter strips and get a feel for the size shapes you end up with with. Our standard strips are approx. 45cm in total so try using fractions of that total measurement.
      Diane also filmed some beginner technique videos that you may find helpful. Here is the playlist link ruclips.net/p/PL4I880p_ot6dwF7ue5W0TQlaolzLPjrpk&si=W4ENIoqYclTD731h

    Thank you! I'm looking forward to giving this a try! Do you happen to have anything showing how to make the design used in the centers of the daisy and sunflower shown about 17:10-17:30?

    • @KatySueDesigns
      @KatySueDesigns  7 месяцев назад +1

      We hope you enjoy your quilling experience :) there isn't a video from us on how to make those centers but it is achieved by crimping the quilling strips. After a quick google we found this video which may help ruclips.net/video/6SCk-S8BlrE/видео.html
