Even re-reading the initial announcement post, it's not clear to me what this game was really supposed to accomplish. I understand it was going to be free-to-play and hopefully convert some new LBP players into purchasers, but outside of that...
nice lol this race version of challenge mode looks fun, also for people who don't play LBP3, this is the same level as the Seaside Surprise Level Kit, if you buy it, you can play this same level, level design is a little bit different though lol
It was going to be a free-to-play game that gave you access to the LBP2 create mode, Team Picks, The Gardens, Da Vinci’s Hideout as well as the exclusive goodies in this level and challenges (which were instead added to LBP3). The goal was likely to increase LBP’s popularity by making it more accessible, similar to what Geometry Dash World accomplished a few years later
Honestly the biggest mistake anyone made in the LBP franchise. I think LBP would still be a huge game to this day were this to have gone ahead. But instead we saw LBP3 and its disasterous launch killing the franchise off unceremoniously...@@TylerBR97
Yeah it was pretty much a free LBP title where you got Da Vinci’s Hideout free and the rest of lbp1 and 2 had to be purchased if you didn’t own a copy of those games.
i tried to contact you on twitter, but im not sure if you're active on there so i'll post my query under this video too i’m curious if you still have the PS3 you installed the LittleBigPlanet HUB beta on, because i'd like to know if it could be archived
Chances are the uploader had nothing to do with the game's development, or even had a copy of this game on his console. The footage was recorded back in 2013, and likely was recorded by an actual developer. Somehow after 11 years, the footage made its way online or was found and this channel was just uploading the newly found footage. The channel likely isn't the original source for the footage

@@butterflydreamer9649 actually, the DLC was just based on this level alone the only element taken from LBP1's The Seaside theme was the background, which itself was touched up to look up to standard with LBP2's assets and to bring it a little closer to the level's theming
My idea you can change the pod in a pod bus. You can also change the controller with ps1 PS2 PS3 PS vita PSP PS4. And you can play all the level of the franchise of lbp 1 lbp 2 lbp 3 lbp vita lbp PSP lbp. Karting. You can buy the old DLC from lbp1 lbp2 lbp3 lbp vita lbp PSP lbp karting. And there new sticker new decoration new costume new music new background. And you can play lbp year of edition level
Yeah so an entire lbp collection with everything in one but at 4k 60fps or 1440p 120fps. The touch pad of the PS5 could be used as a replacement for the touch controls of vita, maybe holding down while swiping over could be the back panel. This is actually not a bad idea.

This is a really uncomfortable mid-way between LBP2, 3 and the Seaside Surprise level kit.
