  • A quick sketch to get to know the Moog Subharmonicon and how it can integrate with a modular system. Need to figure out how to get better video--I think it could be a lighting issue, but working on settings.
Patch notes would be pretty complicated for this one, suffice it to say that we're working with a Eurorack modular synth, a Moog Subharmonicon, and Strymon Nightsky (which you can't really discern in the mix). The initial melody/rhythm was set up on the Subharmonicon and send through the Nightsky and into the stereo mixer on the rack (Intellijel Mixup). Beyond that, we're sending clock to various modules, multed through the FrapTools 333. The Chance, RND STEP and øchd are adding modulation all over the place, including back to the filter cutoff on the Subharmonicon. The Bloom is adding some generative melodic elements through Mutable Instruments Plaits and Qu-Bit Surface. An analog sub-bass line is coming from the Dixie2+ with pitch and VCA-EG coming from the Subharmonicon. Polaris and QPAS filters are doing their thing. The percussion is coming from the ALM Busy Circuits SALMPLE, triggered by the Intellijel Steppy and given the modulated Mimeophon royal treatment before going onto the mixer. The audio goes to the TASCAM Model 12 and then onto the Atomos Ninja V where it's mixed with the video coming from the Sony A6000. Then edited in Final Cut Pro X. Whew--I think that's it. A lot of info for a 45-second clip.
