DtM, please go back and get yourself some chopped onions, cilantro and Pico de Gallo from the condiments bar inside the restaurant. Then take off a piece of chicken, put it into the tortilla, add the condiments, add rice, beans (as one of your sides) and eat it like a Taco. So good, I promise!

El Pollo Loco was my to go place for lunch when I was working in LA at least once a week. I've seen the changes in their menu but I don't care, it was good. 👍
I’ll show my age, that was what they called a Player Piano back in the old days!!!
Hi Danny, when I saw the dark red salsa I was worried. They have mild, maybe they thought you wanted spicy. They have a chunky salsa that primarily tomatoes and onions. Did they have a self service salsa bar or was that a victim of Covid? I haven’t been for a while. It’s a Southern CA based chain with roots in Mexico. Because the open flame cook on the grill you can get a dry piece but usually it;s very good like your second pice. That would be a prime example. It’s a very good chain. When I take some home and have metal utensils I shred up some chicken put in the tortilla add some of my appropriate sides (rice/beans/corn) add a splash of salsa roll it up and make a mini burrito or rolled taco. Now I have to go get some. Argh Danny you made me hungry again! I’m less than a mile from one. Great video Danny!

I agree they used to have one in delray beach Florida and would go there with grandma all the time and was delicious. Pollo tropical is next best thing

I LOVE el pollo loco unfortunately I've not been able to go to one in years.. none anywhere near me now.. but I do have to say that is the driest looking chicken I've ever seen from that franchise.. think I'd of been sending it back.. normally it's VERY juicy stuff unless the chain has changed that much over the years..

The self rewinding player piano was very cool.
Pollo Loco is one of the better fast food restaurants. I also order the beans and then fold my tortilla into qtrs and dip it in the bean and juices , makes a tortilla better tasting.

For a few years, I lived in a state that had El Pollo Loco everywhere but never ate there. I did eat from Del Taco though so I figured it was bad quality too lol. But now watching your video, I kinda regret never eating at El Pollo Loco lol.

Really missed the free shuttles between strip & freemont with the Boyd properties. I did contact Gold Coast regarding the shuttles but it's not coming back😢.

Danny I had the three piece at El Pollo Loco today for lunch as well. It was pretty good. You should of filled your cup with soda since nobody was monitoring it. You should of sat down on the piano bench and pretended like you were playing. Unless you were playing it with your mind, since your also a magician.😂

The way to go at EPL is to get a 2-piece combo and pay for all-breast upgrade. You get much more/better meat than that standard 3-piece job that always includes a crappy wing and usually some other lacking piece, and one breast if you're lucky.
Chicken looks dry 😢...Normally, one would break chicken up into strips and place onto tortilla with rice & corn ...roll/wrap up and eat like a burrito ... dip into mole sauce... our El Pollo Loco closed over 20 years ago...just right out closed. ☹

Leg and thigh is the best there
Tell the cashier you want your chicken “JUICY” otherwise they overcook it. It will show up on your receipt. Ask for some lemon wedges to squeeze on the chicken also. I like their macaroni and cheese too…very cheesy.
