There is something called the silicone lottery. When making chips, different chips from the same model are made with different qualities depending on the quality of silicone wafer used and how good it is etched and filled with materials to make the different transistors and connections (plus many more factors). really bad ones are scrapped, but as long as they are above a specific performance they are kept. Not all chips are at the minimum performance requirement, some actually come out as planned in the schematics and others are perfect. This allows them to perform really well, and sometimes much better than average. That's why you can have 2 exact copies of the same phone tested with the same variables giving different scores. One might be better, others much worse. My s24 gives a multi core score on geekbench 6 of 6350, while yours out performed the s24 plus, which is supposed to have better cooling and performance.

These videos of NL Tech about testing the Exynos version of the S24 series. It clears my mind about other people on the internet still saying that Exynos sucks due to its history. Liked and subscribed this video, will be waiting for the next one.
If they went back far enough they should claim Exynos is superior, because it was at some point in history faster & more efficient than the Snapdragon counterpart 😆
I like that you talked about the regular versions of the s24 because all the channels always only talk about the ultra and most people are not going to buy it and the ultra is very different from the regulars
After looking at your video; it really helped my to take my decision. I can worry free buy s24 knowing that the exynos is not overheating or draining battery this time. Thank you!!
@NasiLemakTech The time of the battery life test at the end for S24Ultra has a different time compared with S24 and S24+. It is 1h later (15:25 and not 14:38) why? And those are print screens, you are not inside the application. Why the time shows 15:25 for the S24 Ultra? instead of 14:38?
@@NasiLemakTech The Battery Life test took 47 minutes longer on the S24 Ultra? (at 15:25) while on S24 and S24+ it was 47 minutes quicker? (at 14:38) That does not make any mathematical sense.
Don't look too much into the time. The test is meant to be ran and just leave it be until the test it done. I went to sleep as the test was ongoing and I just took the screenshot when the test was done. When I took the screenshot, the test was already done on the S24 and S24+. @@NasiLemakTech The clock on the phone and percentage of the battery is the most important aspect to look at right now to compare Exyons to Snapdragon cpu/battery drawn. Thank you!

The CPU is supposed to be similar due to both using ARM designs but it's clear Samsung downgraded the SD 8G3 performance on the S24U to make the Exynos look less mediocre.

One question @NL Tech at your conclusion part (most important - battery life) S24: 14:38 S24+: 14:38 S24 Ultra: 15:25 All of them are print screens, you are not in the battery application, that is ok, but: Theoretically S24 Ultra when the clock was 14:38 would have HAD 21%, 22%, 23%, 24%, 25%...+ % battery instead of 20% as it has now at 15:25. Could you please tell what was the battery percentage of S24 Ultra at 14:38?
Appreciate the fact you read my comment and made a video about the benchmark this just shows how much you respect your viewers. Also i guess you are the first person on the internet who did these tests with Exynos 2400. Again thanks for the good content.
Thx for this comparison. The small S24 Exynos did surprisingly well (its vapour chambers is only about half the size of S24U), and although much smaller battery duration is good too. If it is in your tests even better than SD 8 Gen 2 then noone should worry because battery in S23 is very good for a phone of this size and performance
Thank you very much for the video! I think you are one of the first on RUclips to do this type of tests and that is why I leave you my like. Hi is that possible do a network test ? I see in the video 11min until 16 min, both Exynos only half network bar compare to ultra remain full. I see another RUclipsrs Android Addict benchmark test got same observation too.😢
I preordered the 24 Ultra, expecting Exynos to be crap. Now that I see the battery is pretty good I'm trying to figure out if I should cancel my Ultra order and get the Plus instead. I don't care about the pen or cameras that much. I mainly care about battery life. Also the Ultra is bigger and uglier than the plus. Not sure what to do, should I cancel my Ultra and get a Plus instead?!
Yes just root it and turn off all performance cores and just use the 4 a520 cores you will get double the battery life and good performance for every day tasks.
Exynos is finally CLOSING the gap, in fact, if you use the S24+ in its default 1080p settings, it "should" be the most battery efficient amongst the 3. Something about Exynos just performing better at lower resolutions? Anyways, I am so HAPPY to see Samsung finally doing right by their own products. Exynos is not just "inferior" in this case anymore, its very much worthy as a "replacement" for markets that are not getting the 8 Gen 3. It used to be A LOT worse when compared to the Ultra counterparts.
My s24+ (Exynos) should arrive tomorrow and i was thinking, i'm going from a 60hz phone, why would i want something such as 1440p resolution and 120hz? I'll just lower it to 1080p and 90hz (if possible) and have more battery life. I wouldn't notice the difference between the two setting anyway and it will also be a huge upgrade anyway since i'm currently holding an A51 with battery saving always on.
@@kornishoni5266 I dont think 90hz is possible but 1080p 120hz is definitely possible! And even if you do use 1440p, it is STILL a beast when it comes to performance and general battery usage. You bought a phone, use it to its fullest potential.
Exynos is doing way better than before. Seems Samsung fabrication and architecture work better now compare to few years ago. Despite still being behind tsmc in node and Qualcomm in cpu design, seems it advanced enough that it won't affect user too much compared to before.
Observing the results of this video, I assume the s24 regular version with SD8G3, sold in places like Korea and the US. May be awesome regarding battery life. Sweet spot between size and power.
S23 was 13hr (vs almost 14hr S24) S23+ was 15hr (vs 13hr 22m) S23 Ultra was 13hr (vs 15hr) All these were rounded down for the remaining minutes. I wonder if the loss of 1hr is worth for me trading my s23+ for s24 non plus for the smaller form factor 🤔 i currently dont enjoy my s23+ cuz its big for me hmm
S23+ in my humble opinion is not worth the extra size as you don't get extra sharp display. S23 is better choice. With S24 lineup it's pays off to deal with bigger + version as you get better screen. S23 vs S24? S23! better PPI and cheaper. S23+ vs S24+? Probably S24+ because of much better screen. To wrap up: if you want smaller form factor, swap for S23!
@@jmydy What if S23 and S24 are in similar price range ( Currently here we have a deal that I could get the S24 on the price of the S23 ) And I can't decide.. just about this Exynos...
@@7onji I can honestly give you my opinion on S23 because I own it right now: in general it's very nice phone, super handy to use, bright screen, processor is good and battery life is good and predicable! there are some problems though, not fixed by any of the software updates; sometimes outgoing call can't be established, there are some audio distortions on notification sounds, camera is bad at taking close-up photos (yes, banana-gate is a real problem, not a bokeh thing, it's camera or camera lens defect I believe, or maybe installation issues on some stage of manufacturing process, don't know). S24 is just slightly bigger, so it will have bit lower PPI. I think you won't notice performance differences. And all that AI crap is just a paid service (you might read this on S24 specs site), it will be free until 2025, then you have to pay. So man, you are not gaining really a lot with S24. If price is same, just be careful with the screen, as for me S23+ was having too low PPI and bigger form factor was not justified. I returned plus model and got base model. It has just fine screen, but if S24 is less sharp then I would just check in person how it looks. Also, S24 is newer device so you might use it for longer or sell for better money I believe. Let me know what is your decision mate.
@@jmydy no bro I currently own s23+ but am thinking of downgrading to either s23 or s24. S24 hardware is almost all same with s23 except for Exynos 2400 and battery life. Just unsure if its worth downgrading
@@Brainiac5 so if you don't want hi-res screen of S24+ (and it's bigger form factor), go for S23. For me changing from S23+ to S23 was an upgrade, not downgrade.

My take on the thermal headroom between chips is simple. They throttle the Snapdragon at lower temp than the Exynos so that the Exynos will have extra headroom to boost performance, making it appear faster than the Snapdragon.

Oh I'm surprised to see exynos doing very well. It seems that 8gen3 is better just by a bit and the gap is miniscule compared to prev gen. Hope you could do it again after the official release and software updates!

Thank you for clearing up my confusion ,gonna preorder S24plus exynos right now
Really happy that Exynos is finally catching up on the snapdragon performance!
These tests are very useful, not something I see from other youtubers, thanks for making them!
Thank you so much dude! Been searching for a few days for some tests
All youtuber just care about AI and other features which we already know at the unpack event. No one mentions about the battery life which is one of the most important thing user want to know. So, thank you very much for digging deep into this topic, love your channel
Thanks a lot! After all these years, there is a good Exynos SoC for gaming and battery life! FINALLY! 🙏🏻
Thanks for your video, i have pre -ordered the S24 regular (in France) :)

@NasiLemakTech
The time of the battery life test at the end for S24Ultra has a different time compared with S24 and S24+. It is 1h later (15:25 and not 14:38) why? And those are print screens, you are not inside the application. Why the time shows 15:25 for the S24 Ultra? instead of 14:38?
Because it took more time to finish the test and the screenshot was taken at 15:25
@@NasiLemakTech The Battery Life test took 47 minutes longer on the S24 Ultra? (at 15:25) while on S24 and S24+ it was 47 minutes quicker? (at 14:38)
That does not make any mathematical sense.
Don't look too much into the time. The test is meant to be ran and just leave it be until the test it done. I went to sleep as the test was ongoing and I just took the screenshot when the test was done.
When I took the screenshot, the test was already done on the S24 and S24+. I just didn't take it as soon as it was done
@@NasiLemakTech The clock on the phone and percentage of the battery is the most important aspect to look at right now to compare Exyons to Snapdragon cpu/battery drawn.
Will have to wait for a 100% accurate test somewhere when it comes to battery drawn because the battery percentage on the S24Ultra was not 20% when the test finished at 14:25 as it is shows you that it's 20% at 15:38, it should have been at least 21% at 14:25.

The CPU is supposed to be similar due to both using ARM designs but it's clear Samsung downgraded the SD 8G3 performance on the S24U to make the Exynos look less mediocre.

depending on what you want to achieve / show .. you should run the same benchmark for an extended time (30min + ) .. so you also get an idea of the phones heat dissipation
Surprising numbers can happen because all three phones dissipate heat differently due to size or heat solutions.

One question @NL Tech at your conclusion part (most important - battery life)
S24: 14:38
S24+: 14:38
S24 Ultra: 15:25
All of them are print screens, you are not in the battery application, that is ok, but:
Theoretically S24 Ultra when the clock was 14:38 would have HAD 21%, 22%, 23%, 24%, 25%...+ % battery instead of 20% as it has now at 15:25.
Could you please tell what was the battery percentage of S24 Ultra at 14:38?
👍🏻...so I'm not the only one who noticed 😉

Thx for this comparison. The small S24 Exynos did surprisingly well (its vapour chambers is only about half the size of S24U), and although much smaller battery duration is good too. If it is in your tests even better than SD 8 Gen 2 then noone should worry because battery in S23 is very good for a phone of this size and performance

@@hescomingsoon-ob2fbhow does that work? Any tutorials?
Hi! Is there a difference with the image processing between exynos and snapdragon?
excellent review especially battery life I'm not a gamer so will be going for s24 plus .
I'm definitely gonna snag the 24 Ultra, with plans on keeping it until the wheels fall off it lol.
Exynos is doing way better than before. Seems Samsung fabrication and architecture work better now compare to few years ago.
Despite still being behind tsmc in node and Qualcomm in cpu design, seems it advanced enough that it won't affect user too much compared to before.
