      That's probably because they haven't launched yet! They don't launch until the 31st, and review units are under embargo until then. Only reviewers who acquired the phones from another source or don't care about breaking the NDA and getting sued will be posting these until the embargo ends.

      @@Vss077Is a really common happens when someone investigates something only once in a while , people that does not know much about cpu still thinks that amd processors are weaker, run hotter or consume a lot more power than Intel's (although in the 2 last generations Intel consumes a lot more and generates a lot more heat)

    • @TheRealGigaCat
      @TheRealGigaCat 10 месяцев назад +12

      @@Vss077the main issue is the compatibility. Mediatek and Exynos GPUs are incompatible with most emulators such as yuzu and skyline. You can't easily unlock bootloader and there aren't much custom roms available. It's like stuck with windows in a windows laptop and unable to install Linux or change kernels.
      That's the real reason why power users are unhappy. Not because it performs bad with the Samsung fabbed node, but it does on a long run compared to Qualcomm.
      If they want the tech savvy to recommend Exynos and mediatek then they need to go open source like Qualcomm. Simple as that. But hey, who likes extra work? There's a reason why Qualcomm has earned its reputation and why we power users recommend it.
      Also these benchmarks are telling nothing. The 8 gen 3 is running switch games at full 60 fps and is rivaling a17 pro. These benchmarks are more or less look useless when looking at the real world performance that far outclasses 8 gen 2 by almost 100% in most games.

      @@TheRealGigaCatyeah, and also i read it somewhere that xclipse doesn’t natively support openCL which is what most games/applications used, they only natively support vulkan. There is something called the silicone lottery. When making chips, different chips from the same model are made with different qualities depending on the quality of silicone wafer used and how good it is etched and filled with materials to make the different transistors and connections (plus many more factors). really bad ones are scrapped, but as long as they are above a specific performance they are kept. Not all chips are at the minimum performance requirement, some actually come out as planned in the schematics and others are perfect. This allows them to perform really well, and sometimes much better than average. That's why you can have 2 exact copies of the same phone tested with the same variables giving different scores. One might be better, others much worse. My s24 gives a multi core score on geekbench 6 of 6350, while yours out performed the s24 plus, which is supposed to have better cooling and performance.

    Clearly Samsung is putting this lower throttle on the S24 Ultra to make Exynos look better. I'm tempted to just cancel my preorder over it and just keep my S23 Ultra. Anybody who buys the top flagship and then complains about heat when gaming doesn't get the point of a flagship.
    Will have to see if the same limits play out on the S24/S24+ with Snapdragon and if any of this changes with retail firmware. Your results are at least much better than the trolls on Twitter claiming that the 8 Gen 3 drops to 2500 points on 3dmark though. 🙄

    Exynos is finally CLOSING the gap, in fact, if you use the S24+ in its default 1080p settings, it "should" be the most battery efficient amongst the 3. Something about Exynos just performing better at lower resolutions? Anyways, I am so HAPPY to see Samsung finally doing right by their own products. Exynos is not just "inferior" in this case anymore, its very much worthy as a "replacement" for markets that are not getting the 8 Gen 3. It used to be A LOT worse when compared to the Ultra counterparts.

I'll just lower it to 1080p and 90hz (if possible) and have more battery life. I wouldn't notice the difference between the two setting anyway and it will also be a huge upgrade anyway since i'm currently holding an A51 with battery saving always on.
