It's an entirely different phone at this point. Disgraceful how governments cracked down on Apple for using a lightning port because it was against competition, but Samsung can market two different phones with the same name.
It's not because of competition. They had to change the lightning port because it was outdated, it was inconvenient for customers, and it was causing more e-waste to pile up.

On the french samsung website the S24+ is on sale at 1170€, there's no offer nor gifts. Final price = 1170€. So in France we get a phone 380€ more expensive that doesn't perform as well. I'm definitely not buying this. Thank you for the video
I'm Canadian, and if you convert 1150$ US to CAD, it's 1700$. I feel like it's easier for US and Europe to get this phone, compared to us. That's nearly 2000$ if you add the taxes and everything with it
But based on my research, it's only Canada, USA, China and maybe Japan who has the Snapdragon variant. The rest of the world has the Exynos. Samsung engineers does this move to "optimize phone performance with the market it's sold in"
@@redsim017 In any case it's unfair that we get a more expensive phone that's less performant. It's even worst when you know that the exynos cost them twice less than the snapdragon. They should be cheaper just for this reason alone
my simple question is these are all extreme tests done to know the 100% potential of the phone but for daily use and and an average user will it matter a lot? I know SD version is best but if at all its not avl then is exy 2400 not good enough for a simple premium phone which may last 7 years

We know Exynos has improved but is not yet at the level of the Snapdragon variant. Ideally Samsung should sell these underperforming phones at least a little bit cheaper than the Snapdragon. Thanks for this. Finally a good, rigurous comparison. One of the weakest points of Exynos is the battery consumption of the modem. The other S24 Exynos vs Snapdragon comparisons that I've seen use wifi, which shows they don't know what they are doing.
Mate absolutely bang on! That's what I have been saying all along, on wi-fi Exynos ain't that bad but surely more likely you'll have a power socket for a quick top-up when you are in such a set-up. What matters is when you are out on the move on cellular, then every single percent of battery matters. Glad I didn't go with the Exynos variant. Will stick to my S23 and wait until it's made available or a cheaper way to get Snapdragon variant from US/CA down the line. Qualcomm rules the modem game.
Are you guys accounting for the fact that either version might not support all available cellular frequencies in some regions and may therefore be fighting an uphill battle?
Was looking everywhere for this kind of compare test, none of the big tech youtubers made it, now it makes sense why. awesome content, made my decision easy not to go with the Exynos in my region and look for something else. At last. I am seeing someone saying that Exynos gets hotter while gaming and running benchmark. Which I had also noticed during my testing and review. If you take the scores out of the picture, even S23 was performing better during my gaming and benchmark tests when it comes to battery and thermal management. Thanks for the comparison video man 👍
@xstatic6134 If you wana play games for a longer duration, then go with S23, and it costs less. For everything else, S24 is pretty good. After a couple of updates, the battery life now is almost similar on both devices.
@xstatic6134 Now its almost similar but again depends on how you use it. In my usage, socialmedia apps consumes slightly lesser power on S24. Web browsing almost similar, camera and gaming S23 uses slightly lesser battery.

Most big phone reviewers are U.S. so have little interest in global affairs.
The quoted price in US doesn't include sales tax, in the UK the VAT is factored into the price. The price difference between USD and GBP is often similar to the VAT tax rates in the UK. Although sales tax in the US is often cheaper than VAT in the Uk. ( Vat is 20%, in the US sales tax vary between 0% and 16%) £799 - 20% VAT (£159.80) = £639.20 £639.20 in USD is currently worth $809.04, which is only ten dollars and four cents more than the US price (before sales tax).
You are a legend!! Additionally putting all the effort of even importing a phone just wow. The results are shocking! Have you checked Phonearena and gsmarena, their tests and results of the s24+ exynos against the 24 Ultra? According to their results, the S24+ exynos lasts longer than the Ultra in general (but they do not run benchmarks that drain that much power).
Exynos is not the problem, the problem here is that Samsung is marketing the Exynos as a flagship level chip and selling it at flagship level price, when in actuality Exynos are just above mid range performance Same with Google's Tensor chips
This is why apple keeps winning. Samsung providing their good snapdragon equipped phones in countries where it's considered socially unacceptable to own an Android. Whereas in areas where the public are free to choose between iPhone and Android are the areas which get the models that have bogus issues. Samsung is leaving absolutely zero reason for people to choose Androids over iPhone in the EU region. At this point buying a OnePlus 12 or a nothing phone 2 is a significantly cheaper and better option than splurging on bogus Exynos equipped Samsung's.
The other factor is Exynos being manufactured on Samsung's node which probably has worse yield than TSMC, may introduce more variances in the chip performance i.e. silicon lottery.

855 is way more inferior compared to both SD G2 and G3. Exynos is bad, but it is still way better than a 6 year old chip (Performance: Somewhere middle betw. SDG2 and SDG3, Efficiency: About the level of SDG2). The phone usually takes some time to get usage patterns. That'll be the reason.

good job Techmo. I bought S22 based on youtubers reviews stating the battery may be not the best but still OK. This made me to ignore some alarming customer reviews in the net. In practice S22 (Exynos) battery live is pretty poor. I compare it with S23 (snapdragon). Though I know this is not quite fair as S23 is newer technology and in my case 7 months newer device, there is no contest between two in battery life. Screen on time 9h vs short of 6h, screen off 65h vs 27h. I'm not a gamer so I assumed heat dissipation test is not important for me. Until I got into a car in sunny day with my nav and MS Teams on simultaneously. S22 overheated, dimmed screen and eventually shut down. I would be very, very cautious with exynos again, even if reviews are positive. so they were for S22.

@jokast8861 yes, the form factor is nice which is why I preferred it but after trying the ultra for my very first time, I prefer having the squared off screen. Nicer for media consumption. I looked at the S24 ultra and it was nice but for me with everything I've been watching on RUclips, I think the S23 ultra is just better. Takes better pictures and selfies. My S23 regular last year took better pictures than my S24 + and the battery was a lot better. I found my new phone on gumtree which is how I bought my S23 regular last year. Much cheaper prices than everywhere else. The S24 models have less colour than the S23 models in the screen. Also it looks grainy on the S24 models when screen is dim. Again, personally I feel the S23 models are better and perform better. I've seen videos how the camera's performance is better on the S23 models.

So in Europe, they are charging us more for a phone that is worse than the US variant. They market it as the same phone, but its worse in nearly all aspects, making it a totally different experience and thus a totally different phone. How is there no lawsuit against samsung yet?
Same question from my side also

Don't worry, after the first forced OTA update, the SD version will be crippled and lagging behind the Exynos version.
Is there anywhere you can read up on that?@@operator8014
as much as I hate this, why should there be a lawsuit? It literally is a different market.
It's an entirely different phone at this point. Disgraceful how governments cracked down on Apple for using a lightning port because it was against competition, but Samsung can market two different phones with the same name.
Because they sold in different area. It's that simple
It's not because of competition. They had to change the lightning port because it was outdated, it was inconvenient for customers, and it was causing more e-waste to pile up.

The quoted price in US doesn't include sales tax, in the UK the VAT is factored into the price.
The price difference between USD and GBP is often similar to the VAT tax rates in the UK. Although sales tax in the US is often cheaper than VAT in the Uk. ( Vat is 20%, in the US sales tax vary between 0% and 16%)
£799 - 20% VAT (£159.80) = £639.20

In practice S22 (Exynos) battery live is pretty poor. I compare it with S23 (snapdragon). Though I know this is not quite fair as S23 is newer technology and in my case 7 months newer device, there is no contest between two in battery life. Screen on time 9h vs short of 6h, screen off 65h vs 27h. I'm not a gamer so I assumed heat dissipation test is not important for me. Until I got into a car in sunny day with my nav and MS Teams on simultaneously. S22 overheated, dimmed screen and eventually shut down. Great vid dude.
Wow man you saved me literally 😅 I was about to buy 24 with exynos next week but now I reconsider buying s23 with sd gen2 about half the price of 24
very nice test, thank you sir!
would have been nice to show the battery statistics, like screen on time and stuff at the end of the test.
Great suggestion!
Thanks for the test but this is just sad tbh. Was hoping Samsung would finally stop using Exynos or get in on par with snapdragon. This is borderline scammy, I will trade in my S24+ next year if I am not satisfied with battery runtime after a year.
How's the battery going now with your s24+? Are you satisfied at all with its performance or are you disappointed about something?
I was wondering to buy an s24+, so your feedback would be very helpful for me
@@zazel9698 I am wondering too
@@zazel9698 I have preordered two weeks ago and the s24+ still has to arrive. Had to return a S24 Ultra before because it was way to bulky for me.
I probably wont be dissapointed because I dont game on my phone, just some youtube, photography and whatsapp. The battery life doesnt seem terrible from the previous video with the s23, but just worse than the SD version.
I just feel letdown by Samsug for releasing a inferior version at the same price again and it annoys me as a tech nerd...
I can tell you if the battery life is compared to my 3 year old S21Ultra when the phone arrives but I doubt this will be to helpfull for you.
@@zazel9698 sadly my preorder hasnt arrived yet. I doubt I will have problems in everyday use (I dont game) but I am just mad as a eu customer to get a inferior product.
All around the battery life will not be terrible but worse than the S24+ SD.
I keep you updated.
Two options
1st: Either Samsung needs to up the game and get up to the same level as Snapdragon.
2nd: Samsung should sell the exynos variant at at least 100$ cheaper.
I already knew this but it's great to see the actual measured differences.
Great job. Thank you for your work. Looking at the results these are two different phones basically.
Finally!!! A true informative comparison
In saying that, it's an absolute let down. Considering I can only get the global variant. I honestly didn't think it would be this bad.
I forgot the most important thing , idle battery drain can you please review that too
Best Video ive seen the perfect comparison i was looking for.
cant believe you have less subs than me, you deserve so much more!!!
Not just this year, been getting Exynos junk for years where I live. Thanks for the vid.
Never again im buying a phone with exynos or tensor useless soc
Hello, I am waiting for a comparison of S24 plus Exynos 2400 and S24 plus Gen 3 versions, thank you in advance.
Wow. Perfect timing with this video Man. Upgrading to s24+ from s22 regular and after the exynos horror of my current phone i was sceptic to ho for it again but reorder deal was sweet.
Had it on my desk for 8 days struggling if i should return it or not waiting for a review you just did. Opened it today and thought Wow its beautiful and feels perfect in my hand - im keeping it! But you just made me pack it back in - returning tomorrow 🙈 Exynos is a joke.
Great content 👏
If you got a good deal, keep it! Especially as you got an s24+, of which even the Exynos version has more than enough battery for even heavy days. The difference between These two processors is barely noticeable in daily usage, probably only in the standby drain and in scenarios where you navigate while driving. Noone should decide whether to keep a Phone or not by looking at its battery consumption and heat development in benchmark and heavy gaming scenarios.
@@hagan3050 its not only battery life rhat i could probably do with considering the massive bump from s22. Unfortunately runnong hot in hot weather is something that was really bad on s22 exynos, and this test shows that ots stil la problem along with freezing image quality etc. Same story with the exynos sadly
So despite liking s24 or plus more but its better to get ultra variant just for snapdragon chip?@@Armada8589
Temperature and battery life are literaly 2 main things deciding life/logetivity of your phone. I still rock my s7 and if my battery wasn't garbage at this point I would not bother upgrading. Exynos is known to be even worse after a year or 2. Take your useless opinion and keep it.. @@hagan3050
Yeah get the s24 ultra or s23 with sd instead
nice comparison, and you are right if u buy this expensive phones u expect to work flawlessly
wow this is crazy, such a huge difference
Obrigado por provar que o exynos continua muito ruim em autonomia de bateria e temperatura, eu usei um S20 com exynos por 2 anos e atualizações nunca resolveram os problemas de aquecimento e bateria. Samsung tem muito o que trabalhar.
Realmente.
Can you tell what bands (5G) where used during your test... 5G consumes a lot more battery if connection strength is poor. Thanks.
Surprise: With Exynos, the connection strength aka reception is generally worse when compared to Snapdragon. Alas, the inferior Exynos modem results in a worse battery life.
So happy and relieved I gave my 24+ exynos back last week. I had these issues. And some sheep are saying it's fine 🤦🏻♂️I decided to stay away from all the S24 models and bought a fantastic S23 ultra 12g 512g for very cheap. It's a,masterpiece with amazing picture taking quality and insane battery life! S23 models are better than S24 models. I would even say the 8gen2 is better than the 8gen3 as I've seen some heating issues on the 8gen3.
Hi, actlly l prefer form factor of s24 or plus more but went for s24 ultra just for snapdragon chip and avoid exynos. Do you think i made right choice?
Yes, I did the same. I am keeping the Ultra and selling the rest. I also initially bought S24+ to keep it but I changed my mind :)
@techmo2020 I had issues with my 24+ on the first day. I know I've made the right choice in giving it back. It's really a horrible downgrade. I didn't think the S24 ultra was better than the S23 ultra after playing with both. And didn't think it was worth the money they are asking for it with the washed out colours and lesser picture taking quality. This is what I saw with my own eyes. I'm also not too fussed with 7 years of support.
@@Facu1ty1855 thx for your opinion! So is it more worth it for me to get 23 ultra than s24ultra? Bought 24ultra last week cus i never owned flagship phone (use galaxy A70 for 4.5 years) and just wanna get best and latest phone.
I am using S10 Plus for 5 years now
Mine is Snapdragon edition
And my friend has with the Exynos
We both use phone in the same manners
Little bit gaming(Asphalt 9), photos, calls etc
He has replaced his battery 2 times already and I haven't, yet his battery still drains out faster than mine. Also in playing game he can't play with significant lags and heat issues. I am having some minor ones too but they are not affecting my gameplay.
Photos are different too. I am amazed how chipset can differ this much. Especially in years of usage
Now we are both planing to switch to S23 or S24 Ultra
And both for luckily getting Snapdragon version.
I remember my friend was praising Exynos version when we got our phones but now after pure evidence he regrets not looking deeper into comparisons and benchmarks with good tests.
Thank you for honesty, you got yourself a subscriber
