I really enjoy your videos/films. They are very clear, focused, not blurry, not shaky, and your movement allows my eyes to follow your adventure at a measured pace. Also, your narratives are in a calm but totally engaging voice/tone. The problem for me now is that I start to measure other urban explorers' videos by your film-making standard, and I find myself enjoying the others' videos less when their videos are shaky, blurry, sweeping through a scene too fast, and narrated in voices that feel contrived. You have spoiled me, Dan.
It's cool to see you guys were once in my hometown of Mt.Vernon, Illinois. That place was once a Motel 6. They left when their lease was up, and the owners changed the name to the Cozy Inn, which didn't last long. It sat abandoned for about a decade, until they demolished it a year or two ago.
I once stayed at a Hotel in Alabama this was post Hurricane Katrina back in 07'. I saw so many abandoned hotels, buildings etc. Anyway, I found this one decent Holiday Inn. I asked for a one bedroom, but the desk person advised me they were completely booked. Since, there wasn't another hotel for miles I prepared to sleep in my car. But, as I was about to leave she says "We do have a suite though". She also said it would be the same price as a basic room. I said " I'll take it! (thinking she was just being generous) That night in that room, there was footsteps, and other unexplainable noises coming from the bathroom. You could feel the presence of someone or something. It was truly a scary experience. (I'm wondering since it was still standing after Hurricane Katrina, What happened in that room?) Oh, and also I'll never accept a Discounted hotel suite ever again!! lol
I watch a fair number of the abandoned genre videos on RUclips and I must say, your work is top notch. You have a talent for knowing what scenarios should be included, how long to hold the camera in one place, etc.

Reminds me of "half abandoned motels throughout some areas of Pennsylvania, and most areas of West Virginia. Note to those traveling through West Virginia; that once outside of the few larger cities (if the term lager cities even applies to WV) that's it probably better to sleep in ones vehicle than to stay at some of the motels throughout the state

Dan I always wonder if the fire alarm system was still on. Even though it’s an abandoned building. You should check to see if the fire alarm panel is still active it’s normally in a utility room or in an electrical closet. That would be bizarre if it was still active.
Scrappers take the main units for the electric motors, compressor and copper and they leave the worthless case and plastics behind, if you noticed the faucet in the room was gone too, as I was writing this he talked about the copper theft in the video as well.

I would leave the cams up and record non stop then edit up the faces and audio of people then i would take the past 2 years and show how the building did fall apart. It would be so nice wish this could happen

Once they're in your home, your exterminator will have to wage the Battle of Bulge in the bedroom to eradicate them. Trail cameras take a picture of something that moves in front of it motion sensor. So anytime an animal or person walks by it takes a picture. Some take like 3 or 5 in a row and I think they even have ones that take a short video now. It then stores it on a SD memory card that you plug into your computer to see the pictures. It's the worse security system in the world because it's after the crime has been committed and then you have to spend money and time trying to figure out who the person is. I'm willing to bet they don't even have the SD cards and the owner isn't swimming in cash to pursue the criminals otherwise he would've finished the renovation.
