I've been onboard the Arturia FX bundle since it came out, and all 3 of their preamps are really good, although I wish they had gone full-on channel strip and added compressors to them...the Trident preamp is probably my favorite... Looking forward to your thoughts on their spring and plate 'verbs...
Arturia was giving away their plate reverb for free last year over "Black Friday." I grabbed it (I like free stuff!) and I think it is a GREAT plugin. Like I would pay for it if I didn't already have it. I think this sounds pretty good as well; not sure it would replace the Lindell 80 series in my workflow but I'd definitely be willing to give it a go.
Superb review and presentation. The 1973 punches waay above its weight, and sounds delicious. It desperately needs a visual display ala the Sitral EQ. Overall, this was Arturia’s attempt to dethrone SoundToys or at least give them some competition, and I believe they’ve succeeded in at least the latter 😅. Excellent collection but the 1973 is something of a secret weapon. Try mixing with just that and your ears…mmm, dangerous!
It's Friday already? Nice! ... I'm mostly familiar with their synth emulations and, while they're pretty good, some better options are available elsewhere. Because of that and the fact that I either own or have tried most other Neve/SSL emulations available elsewhere, I never even considered trying the Arturia's take on them. Now, I might just have to give them a chance too. ;) Thanks!
It does sound good. I may have to check them out. I have the UAD, but all the reports I've seen say this compares very well to the UAD. How did you find the CPU usage? Reports are that it's quite heavy.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I might have mixed up the heavy CPU with one of the new IK Multi Media plugins. They apparently also have some that people are saying sound better than the UAD equivalents. I look forward to your comparison.
They are super light! I have a 4 year old laptop that can quite happily run 72 stereo channels, 12 sub mixes and 8 busses - I think I’m coasting around 10-12% in Reaper
Thank your the review. Never own any 73 plugs personally. Had to ask if this will chew up cpu? Running Studio One on a 2011 MBP with 16 gigs of ram. Appreciate your input.
I’ve had the Arturia FX bundle and upgraded the bundle a few times, your video is very helpful in showing how to use this 73 Pre, TY‼️🙏🏾🔥
Glad it was helpful!
Sounds very open, full and pleasing, especially on those acoustics 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Of the emulations I've tried the Arturia 1973-Pre is my favorite that I also own, Great Sounding Plugin.....

I have lots of Arturia to give away for the mixing contest. :)

Another great video. Got this plug a few weeks ago, it's good!
Thanks Paul
If these are the closest you have heard so far makes this very interesting
Thanks!
Their FX collection is impressive. Thanks for the video

They have surprised me to how good their plugins are.

I did not notice that but I will be comparing the Arturia, UAD and Slate plugins and 'll check that.

this sounds great..the rumor is they are cpu hogs....did you find that?
I did not notice that but I am going to recheck that

I am going check the CPU usage on this one as several people had asked about. it
How does this compare with Slate Digital & Plugin Alliance ? Thanks
This one has more features and sounds great.
How to change it to single channel or mono for vocals ?
you don't. The plugin knows which type of track you put the plugin on
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy i used it on vocals but still its on double channel!!
Would you say that this is closer to the hardware than the UAD ?
About the same in my opinion
Have you compared this to the IK Multimedia T-racks emulation? Just curious which you prefer.
I have not, sorry
They just brought out the 3 modulation plugins you'll use
I have to check them out.
Use one of them.
