- A few funny stories from some of the cast of Prisoner, unfortunately there was more time spent on the auction than there was hearing from the celebrities. Here is a half hour breakdown of a 3 1/2 hour event. **ANOTHER EVENT HAPPENING THIS YEAR, READ MORE FOR DETAILS**
Last year I went to another event who had Maggie Kirkpatrick in attendance and the video for that is • Prisoner Cell Block H ... .
Also, the people who organised the event with Maggie in 2018 are doing another event in Sydney in August this year with the line up SO FAR being
- Rick Ireland (MC).
- Maxine Klibingaitis.
- Amanda Muggleton.
- Paula Duncan.
- Lynda Stoner.

Sorry for the shaky footage, you could get motion sickness watching this video LOL. I took two camera's and a small table top tripod but unfortunately didn't get great seating to be able to use it to catch it all and without quick around the room zooms and shaky footage when zoomed in. Also constantly bumped by people and waiters walking past, it is what it is. Развлечения
These women were a part of my childhood. As much as I hate to see them aging, I think they are still all beautiful - every one of them ❤️❤️
Yeah well said
My grandmother let me watch the reruns in the 90s as Prisoner was out before, and during my birth (83) and I instantly fell in love with it! Up until recently I have watched it for the first time since then and now I'm an adult I get it more, still remember most characters but very sad to here we lost Betty Bobbit, Sheila (birdsworth), Anne Phelan, Bobby Mitchell just a couple of months ago. The original Prisoner will always be the best though. Wentworth just isn't the same xxxx
And Lizzie Birdsworth a legend.Everytime she made grog or snuck some out of the Governer's office or loved helping out with a scheme she was so funny! And the all important rule no lagging!.R.I.P Sheila Florence.🌹
Sarah Lauritzen You Little Rippa!!!!
You Beautii!
isnt doreen on neighbours now
@@TheDarrenguyuk Yes, she is. Colette plays Sheila Canning. 😃
RIP Judy Bryant, Bobby Mitchell, Myra Desmond, Anne Renaults, Lizzie Birdsworth and all the other cast members that are no longer here. Prisoner cell block H will ALWAYS live on even though the actors have gone.
I'm watch the series now! I love it!
100% facts! I'm watching Prisoner for the 2nd time after finishing it two years ago. lol It's a pretty good show, I like how it's a combination of drama, comedy, horror, etc. where as Wentworth turned out to be a completely dark show, which I loved as well and not happy that they stopped. It's funny how sometimes I forget Prisoner is a show from the late 70's - 80's because I'm so into it and saddened that most of the cast is no longer around. A great series indeed!
Agree with you they sadly missed they was such good actresses
What about bee Smith
@michaellatham1180 the actress that plays Bee Smith is fortunately still alive today, that's why I didn't mention her as the rest have passed away now 😢
Rest In Peace, Betty Bobbitt (aka Judy Bryant).
Is she past away in real life?
@@wilmabaker4500 Yes, she has.
Did anyone else see Bea at that podium as Bea at that laundry press?!? 👊🏼
Fairly Vague just noticed that! The way she is standing, she could totally be at that press!
Yasssss mama bee
My question would be to Betty Bobbitt, to ask her if she's aware just how important Judy Bryant was to LGBT visibility. Judy was probably the only openly gay character on TV at the time, who was portrayed positively, not as a stereotype, and who was treated with nothing but kindness. Judy Bryant was lightyears ahead of her time and was an important lifeline to the LGBT community. I wrote a thesis about LGBT cultural icons and Bryant was mentioned by numerous people interviewed. I thank you dearly Ms. Bobbitt for your ground-breaking portrayal of an LGBT person, through which you shone a little light into the darkness for LGBT people in the 1980s.
That was a joy to watch. I found it very endearing the way Colette repeated the questions to Patsy (who looks amazing for a 90year old).
I’m not gonna lie, I saw your comment and went and Googled Patsy’s age because I thought you must have that wrong 😯 Born in 1928, I cannot actually believe she is 90! She was positively *skipping* in!
She answered the questions well
Not related, but the actress who played Mum is still alive today at the age of 104.
I wish Mum had attended this reunion
Bobbie is the youngest and she looks the worst.
Brilliant. Note to self - Don't be tempted to start watching the show from the beginning for a fourth time.
Tried that recently but stopped at about EP 244. Doreen Burns was doing my head in.
Funny really, I loved her when I watched in the 80's but now i can't think of a more detestable character.
@@mikerochburns4104 Indeed. At that point in the show I'd have preferred Doreen to be killed off, and Sandy Edwards given a much longer stint.
Why not?!
I reckon I've easily watched it at least a dozen times or more, in the last 20 odd years.
Tragic fan, I know HAHA
@@CornishMiner Louise Le Nay was pregnant with her daughter Victoria. Sandy was written out of the show earlier than planned. You can see her baby bump beginning to show towards the end of her stint.
Do it!!
It's a shame Maggie Kirkpatrick couldn't be there. "The Freak" was the most memorable of all the characters for me.
Maggie was unwell and therefore couldn’t attend. Gerard Maguire (Jim Fletcher) was supposed to be there too but he couldn’t make it as his wife was unwell.
@@puppydoglover29 That's what they say anyway, chances are she just didn't wanna do it due to what she had been through in the media.
@@puppydoglover29 She said she turned the invitation down because elspeth ballantyne wasn't invited. Val lehmann and elspeth have a long running feud apparently.
@@casskop the snitch of Grundy's lol. I have heard some awful stories about Elspeth

Great to see Davo. She looks fantastic & gets around so well for 90 years old. :)
Davo was always my favourite
I thought she was about that age. I never forgot the episode where she outran those two young girls when they kidnapped her. There she was around 53 years old running faster than two girls in their 20s. She looks great for 90.
@Sheri Heffner I seem to recall hearing Patsy say once that they had to film that scene twice as the first time she ran so fast that the two girls couldn't catch her!
@@derekhorne8076 That's great. I love Patsy. I also loved Gerda Nicholson too. Such a tragic thing about her dying at 53. Over here in America a wonderful actor, Luke Perry had a stroke and died a week later. He never gained consciousness. This was last week.
@Sheri Heffner Yes, I love Patsy too. Although Erica was my favourite governor, as well as my favourite overall character, I did like Reno too and it was indeed very sad about Gerda's untimely death. Yes, I heard about Luke Perry's sad death last week. I remember watching him in Beverly Hills 90201 when I was a child here in England, and my sympathy indeed goes to his family and friends at this sad time.
Brilliant show salute from Glasgow Scotland 🏴 uk
"I'm 80! Thank you bitch"-Betty Bobbit to Jane Clifton. 😂
Every Thursday night Prisoner was on here in the UK, Lizzie was my fav, to see them all on here just now brought a tear, the song also at the end of the show each week was sad but lovely at the same time, yes life does go far to fast in the end.
I just wrote it was shown on Thursday. Not as confused as I thought ! 👍
Can't believe Frankie (Carol Burns) RIP to all the stars that have passed. Love Mum she's still going at 104! How wonderful!
Nicoletta Fourikis Wow!!!!!!! What is Mums secret?
105 now!! :D
My spine tingled when Judy Bryant (Betty Bobbitt) walked into the room. I've been watching the episodes over the last 3 years. Loved her on the show.
Sadly died.
I met her about 15 years ago on a random street in Richmond, Melbourne. She was very nice and up for a chat when I told her I watched Prisoner when I was a kid. We theorised a little about what the appeal of the show was and agreed that ultimately it was the relationship between the women and their strong bonds that struck a chord with the fan base.
Jude was probably my favourite character in the whole series so sad her and Anne are dead now
Patsy looks fantastic and Colette still has that cheeky smile.
Love Patsy King, and I always love to hear her true blue Aussie accent after being used to the cut glass received pronunciation of Mrs Davidson.
I always thought she was an upper middle class Englishwoman who had emigrated to Oz! I was shocked to hear her 'real' Aussie accent. Great actress!
Mouse haven't aged at all...
Tony Johansson AT ALL 😊
Love PRISONER (1978-1986) Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for sharing this, it is absolutely wonderful. What a great gang!
Brilliant. One of the best things I ever saw on RUclips.
I recall back in the day I wanted to put a big steam press in my house and would have done but I couldn't find one!
Seeing Val here, she looks like she's back on the steam press!
Judy Bryant was my favourite, and I enjoyed the halfway house stories the most.
I met Maggie Kirkpatrick in Stoke, UK, and she was delightful.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks for sharing. Definitely worth watching. I wish the cast would come out to New York. Deeply appreciated this.
What a video and so great to see these wonderful people! Thank you for uploading!
I watched it as kid in South Africa. Brings back a good feeling.
I don’t know why but I got all overcome when Mrs Davidson skipped in!
Me too!
"I wanna see the guv'na!!!!"
Alistyr Marqueux Haha 😂 She’s so pretty. I don’t think I ever noticed it when I was watching as a younger teen, maybe it’s because I’m much older now that I recognise that glowing sweetness about her face and that’s why I got a bit choked up lol
@@fairlyvague82 Patsy does have an indescribable aura about her. I'd have been a blubbering drongo had I been there. I still get emotional watching old episodes. No programme has ever pulled at my heartstrings like Prisoner and there was never a Guv'na quite like Davo. Reno did her best in her era, but when we think of the Guv'na, there's only one Davo. I hope Patsy has another 20 years of health.
Same ere..she looks better than the kids that were on at the time..Bobby's aged..she must only be in her 50's..her arms looked very skinny....
Thank you who uploaded this! They all look great.
Sadly Judith McGrath (Coleen Powell) and Carol Burns (Franky Doyle) past away in recent years.
G quinn and pixie Mason just recently passed away also very sad it would have been awesome to see her on this
Sadly gone, but never forgotten in the hearts of Prisoner fans.
@@zorenxam4693 Who was G Quinn?
@@sheriheffner2098 I'm G Quinn.... The above poster was informing me that Pixie Mason also sadly died recently.
Good bless Anne Phelan. I love her. She isn't look her best here in terms of health . She is such a down to earth lady, always embraces the prisoner fans with warmth, always shares her on set stories like when ahe filmed with Sheila Florence. And she has such passion for her work in helping the lives of women living with HIV. True legend.
Thank you so much for sharing as I couldn't get down there for this xo
Thanks so much for this upload! It’s brilliant watching them chatting away amongst themselves... like good old mates!... Did Doreen really just mouth “ This is Boring? “ 👚😂
RIP Annie Phelan. Lucky people that got to see her one last time.

This was Everything!!!! Was Nearly in tears!! This and V... and golden girls are still the best shows Ever made!!!
Thanks for sharing, amazing to see! Massive Prisoner fan :)
Thanks so much for putting up this video .Glad to see all of the women together again .Jane Clifton did an exceptional job. Loved The Midnight Special sing along. The perspective gave you the impression that you were sitting right there in the audience.
Now we know Jenta spent the last 40 years, after the Wentworth fire, in a cryogenic chamber.
Alistyr Marqueux Who is Jenta???
Thank you for sharing this, this very show is how I have a love for prison shows and movies
Mouse looks fantastic
she looks amazing
Poor Sheila would of been in her element! Loved the story of her being on oxygen and puffing on a ciggie at the same time. Good ol' Lizzie AKA Sheila Florence xx
Loved watching this .thankyou for uploading
Has to be said Betty Bobbitt is a superb actress a superb actress
Did you stutter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
no! glad you found it amusing
BlytheWorld1972 Lol I agree, but Gosh I seriously fkn hate her on the show LOL!!!
Superb
There will never be another prisoner cell block H as good as the one these great actresses played
How wonderful this video is thanks for sharing. I would have loved to have been there. Good to see so many familier faces. I love Prisoner Cell Block H.
Aww my goodness I became very verklempt especially when they were all singing "On The Inside" (except Collette Mann) who appeared to be talking throughout the song. It was so lovely to see them all and they all look so lovely and sweet! Thanks for uploading. I actually paused episode 447 to watch this reunion! Oh and I can't believe that I was clapping for Vinegar Tits! Lol. She looked lovely and was all smiles. I will definitely watch this again!
Sam Ryder Fiona Spence (vinegar tits) was really lovely. I asked her about her dog who was in a few Prisoner episodes.
puppydoglover29 Aww, yes, her cocker spaniel dog, Strudel. 😊😃
Colette did sing, the song was done twice. Once just Alan Caswell, the second he got everyone to join him. She was singing along quietly. It was a lovely moment for everyone to share. ☺️
19th March 2019! About 3/4 weeks ago Betty Bobbit! Colette Mann " who is a regular" & the actress who plays margo all made a brief appearance in the Aussie soap neighbours ! I thought I was seeing things at first ! What an absolute shock ! But a nice one ! All superb actress's
Aww ❤️😢 this made me cry ! I loved them all , such memories xxx
Fantastic ! Thank-you !
Sad to watch this again a year later only to realize that we've already lost one of the women up on stage .Anne Phelan passed away several months ago. And now adding yet another sad comment that Betty Bobbitt passed away several weeks ago-- this is December 2020 now .so nice to see that Betty Bobbitt is in the thumbnail.
Wow, so sad Betty just passed away. It's shocking to me. I knew she was old but it's still shocking.
@@laurenbrooks3091 unfortunately I fear that this is going to be an ongoing thing .most of the women, who are my contemporaries are in their late 60s at the very least. Patsy King is in her nineties most are in their 80s some 70s like Jane Clifton and then the rest late 60s .so sad. in the past couple of years alone we lost Judith McGrath Judy McBurdy Anne Phelan Betty Bobbitt, and Joy Westmore.
@@eugenedegeorge5084 yes, it's sad. I started watching the show in 2018, grew to love many of the characters and wondered what they were like in real life. It's sad to watch them age and pass away.
@@laurenbrooks3091 I watched it briefly here in America in the early 80s but I was a lot younger .then, like you,I picked it up on RUclips in 2018 and ,like you again, came to love to show .I watched all 692 episodes. for a while I actually made contact with Jane Clifton and we did email each other.but she's also a writer, had a new book of poetry published and was also on tour. so we sort of lost contact.
@@eugenedegeorge5084 that is SO awesome. I tried sending fan mail to Patsy King because she's my favorite but no such luck. How neat that you got to speak with Jane Clifton!!
I started on episode 1 in July last year and I've reached episode 630 so far. What a great show!
OMG.. I just stumbled upon this... it was awesome to see the ladies of my favorite 80's show, alive and looking wonderful... Betty Bobbit hasn't changed at all!
I have lovely memories watching back in the 80s ❤
I’m binge watching prisoner ATM. . A great show. This is great to see all these great actors together. 💜💜

I love this show prisoner I bought every CD from the beginning to the end cost a bit too that's how much I liked it I felt sad seeing them as they've grown old I know everyone grows old but I've always remembered them how they were when they played Prisoner and when I saw them coming out I felt so sad but some of them might not be here that long when I've watched it for so long it felt like I knew them I suppose it's hard to explain but I love them all😁💜💙
They all look great, especially Doreen. She still looks amazing.
Watched this on tv back in the day. Binge watched all 692 episodes again this last summer.

I just love it I love the old one better . It's not as violent as the new Prisoner and I think that's what I like about it yeah there's some scenes but not a lot . Thank you for such a good Australian show.☺💜💖
This show was a massive cult hit on late night TV in the UK in the mid to late 80s. I loved it! I preferred its 'darkness' to the saccharine sweetness of (early) Neighbours.
This is grouse. Thanks for filming this.
thank you for taking the time to film this :)
Best soap ever created great memories in the uk it was called prisoner cell block H X
Thank you whats tv for bringing this formidable show back fucking awesome.

Where was this filmed??....Its a shame Mrs Powell & Frankie Doyle are no longer with us and would've more than likely turned up....Susie Driscoll looked great..(used to fancy her and Bobby even if I was only 5 yrs old lol) I remember meeting Susie Driscoll in 89 on the Manchester tour UK at the Palace Theatre, along with Rita Connors & Mrs Davidson & Mrs Morris....And the following year for the 90 tour as it was at its height back then..met and got Margo/Chrissie Lathams autograph..and just as Bea was about to step up..she was ushered away..gutted..great days..and the series was done just at the right time....Mrs Davidson ran rings around all of them..she hasn't aged a day..and Mouse looked even better..very girly for her age....
Just Sum Guy This was done in Melbourne in February. It was a great time. I didn’t want it to end.

This is just amazing to see. Val Lehman was always the top of my list along with Fiona, Maggie ,Sheila and Colette. Wish I could have met them allI will watch prisoner again and again. I’m currently on episode 10, another 682 to go.
God bless to all who starred in this amazing Australian soap, it was just the best. I watched it back in 1987 when it aired in the central tv area in uk. Never forget this. I stayed up watching this on terrestrial late on Sunday before I had to get up for school the next day but it was worth it
Lovely show. Sending love from South Africa❤
I remember as teens we used to be boozing in the park on the weekend in the UK and we would all make sure we got home on time to watch Prisoner. We even named a girl at school vinegar tits :-) It was a big part of our lives growing up and will never forget it, thank you.
I watched the show through out my school years. Got creative with ways to watch it, when it aired during mid afternoon spot for most of its run. The final two episodes aired when I was Home sick with some nasty virus. I was determined to watch the episode s , even though I was struggling to do more than keep awake for more than few minutes at a time.
Was a trip down memory lane seeing this

We were about to find out where the 2nd halfway house was located till Doreen butted in .. as usual.. lol
Prisoner cell block h was my favourite progmma ever xx
Looks like everyone had a great time, I wish I could have been there : )
Except dumb Doreen
Well, the character aside, I’m sure that Colette had a great time too, but the auctioneering part must have made some people in the room feel restless, so I don’t blame anyone, Colette included, to get bored during that part towards the end of the event. 😃
The theme song always makes me cry .. I wasn't allowed to watch prisoner as I was 9 when it was released.. but I would lay in bed an just wait for the show to finish just so I could hear the theme play at the end.
Thnx so much 4 sharing this, gee Colette looked really bored during the auction.
She was actually not impressed. Fremantle Media had been insulted by someone (won't say who) they produced Prisoner under another name. And also produce Neighbours which she now stars in.
Grundy Productions actually made 'Prisoner'. Along with many other great Australian tv shows over decades. Reg Grundy was the owner of Grundy Productions. And he passed away some years ago.
Fremantle Media didn't even exist back then.
Fremantle Media recently bought Grundy, though.
maryjane9221 The auction was VERY LONG. The cast sat through the auction which went for well over and hour doing nothing but talking between themselves and drinking.
Aussie Pete
Over an hour, to auction a simple tracksuit?
Or were there multiple items that were auctioned?
Either way, if the rest of the ladies could be a bit more mature and professional during the auction. It's just a shame that Collette couldn't have shown the same respect.
And I'm not saying that they have to love each other.. Val and Collette. But professionalism is the key. After all, it was for a worthy, important cause.
@@ozlass7778 No, the auction was for multiple items, but maybe was better done separately as the cast had literally nothing to do but sit there. I agree with the professionalism comment, though that's maybe what Val should have done and not started slating Fremantle Media when one of their representatives(Colette) was there. It was unfair to put Colette in that position and expect her not to stand up for her employer.
A real shame we never got to here from Jentah, and particularly Jacqui
No matter how many Prisoner cell block H programme's they make there will never be one as good or worth watching like the original these beautiful ladies were in
Great to see Betty Bobbitt at last, as she doesn't do many if any PCBH conventions. 👍
Well she wrote a book darling of her time on the show. Attended the 2011 celebrations & sang with Shelia Florence Grand Daughter. Came over to the UK in 2015 & did 2 events for the UK fans. She's done plenty dear :)
Betty may have done a few public appearances for Prisoner.
But I'm guessing that Hammy probably meant, that Betty hasn't done as many as say Collette and Val. Especially considering how many episodes Betty did.
I don't think Hammy was implying that Betty has never done any publicity gigs for Prisoner.
Rewatching cell block h upto episode 35 love watching prisoner and Lizzie is one of my favourites all the cast were great
Was watching cell block h till they blocked some of the episodes so can't watch it now need to get the DVDs or wait hopefully they will bring them out on Blu Ray can only hope eh

Poor old Elly wasn't invited. One of two reasons Maggie K didn't go.
@@chezsixtysix4452 she wasn't?? I wonder why? I'd rather have seen her than Mouse, no offense.
Lauren Brooks Apparently Val deliberately left her off the invitation list. As for Mouse, I’ve got nothing to say that wouldn’t be offensive 😆
@@chezsixtysix4452 why would val do that? How do you know she did?
:/
@@laurenbrooks3091 MK stated she didn't go because "a certain original cast member" was not invited and didn't even know about it. She also didn't agree with where the profits were going. (Thought they should have gone to the Actors Benevolent Fund.)
Apparently Val and EB don't get on going back to when Val was receiving travelling allowance for living a certain distance from the studio. When she moved closer she didn't let them know and kept receiving the allowance. EB dobbed her in and Val found out it was her.
This bit I saw myself. EB was interviewed about 10 - 15 years ago. She said she was sick of Val banging on about royalties and how she's the only one who receives them every time the cast get together. Sounds like this resentment runs long and deep with spite and a personal grudge being the reason for the no invite.
So fuck Val...she didn't care about a genuine reunion, just turning it into the Val show and raising money for her charity and satisfying her ego.
I would attend such an event 😂 and sing aswell
It's so wonderful to see all these amazing actors and superstars of prisoner but I wish Elspeth would do just ONE
