They are very common in dhanmondi lake, dhaka, bangladesh.i once caught a breeding pair along with some fry.they did very good in my 75 gallon tank with 4 angels,a pair of polar parrots and 3 stinging catfish
Good Thing a Finally found an English speaking video about snakehead, I always see video about them but can't understand the person speaking in the video 😁 I got dwarfs also kept 6 of them in my 100 gallon tank but the water volume is almost half, most of them have damage in fins because of the alpha aggressiom but they regenerate so fast My snakeheads are always active if I am at the front of the tank
It’s good that you’re using compost. I also use compost and shot blasting sand. I use the compost from my own compost heap in my garden shot blasting sand is extremely cheap. And you can get the whitest of white sand. If that’s what you want. I also use garden fertiliser plugs for plant growth in aquarium. These things are so much more cheaper than buying something labelled for aquarium.
Good stuff, aye I've noticed with any finicky or wild caught fish the old earthworms get them feeding plus the soils in the worms are helpful for digestion.
At the beginning I thought you're not going to cover the top of the tank whatsoever. Unti the last minutes I saw it was covered up with glass. I own a few snakeheads and they jump like crazy. Becoming dry-aged fish lol
Hi, can the following fishes live peacefully together in a 125 gallon tank? All fishes are 3”-5” 1 - Channa Pulchra 1 - Channa Asiatica 2 - Albino Silver Arowana 4 - Silver dollars Thank you.
I never really seen my snakehead until I’m doing maintenance. Never really seen him eat don’t know how he survives or whether he actually does eat. Must be eating after five or six months still living doesn’t look skinny. But I’m a bit disappointed considering I paid over £60 for this fish and I never get to see it.
I’m so mad the US government put a blanket ban on snakeheads even though I live in Maryland and the only snakehead that is/ can be invasive are northern as every other species can’t tolerate our winters
Gachuas are native here in West Bengal, India. We basically get them for free. So lucky to have kept them. Great looking fish with attitude.

Bhai. Do you have any spare pair? Or could you guide me on how to get them from the lake?

I think you've tempted me to take the last one in the shop home
Go for it! I think they're ace (when they come out to play!)
What size tank did you move them in to mate? Thinking of maybe getting a pair or just getting one if my tank is to small 👍🏻
It's very common in Bangladesh. It's native here.
We love to eat it with calabash❤️
Tastes good 😊
*Screams in horror*
A black worm culture is a good food for snakeheads 🙂

I had no idea that you could use compost in tanks! do you treat it first? what kind do you use? this will save me a fortune!
I don't treat it - I just use the most basic compost, making sure there are no additives.
My country called this fish Channa/Channa Limbata. They are so many Channa species the most famous species is Channa Barca
