    There’s only one bad thing about US mobile everyone should know. They have an issue going on with their services. People have been complaining about their data completely turned off randomly even though it shouldn’t be happening and I’m a victim of it as well. It happens every week and it’s getting annoying to the point I’m considering switching. I have one option left so if it doesn’t work I’m switching. It doesn’t happen with every phone, but just a heads up to be cautious because it might happen to you.

    I am ready for a HOTSPOT / Plan round-up list just like this one.
    I have spent at least 30 hours, searching and searching for a decent hotspot plan. I am basically looking for a backup ONLY source, say 3 days, to run my home Internet (which is my Home Phone, my Television and, well, my Internet) when the hurricanes find me in Texas.

    I just swapped from t-mobile to visible, t-mobile just bumped my bill up by 20$ making it unjustifiable to me. Also got my fiancée on paying 100$ for two lines and two new phones. Also another benefit is we spend quite a bit of time each year at the lake and hunting we have no service at the mountain we go to for hunts and lake we fish at but with Verizon’s network we do in quite a few spots

    Currently on tmobile work perks plan I've had for 5 years. Basically it was magenta max.. 160 for 4 lines. Unlimited prioritized data, free data calls and texts in many countries. And other small things. Unfortunately checking data usage and we use way to much for any other the mvnos to match the price. Guess I'm sticking to it for now 😅

      Don’t do it!
      Let’s say your bill is $160 for 4 lines
      $35 per line activation fee
      $10 per line for auto pay, because discount doesn’t come until 3rd month.
      Pro ration 30-60 days, so your bill is double first month,
      Trade in credits don’t hit until 3rd month.
      Any employee or teachers discounts don’t hit until 3rd month.
      Plus fees and taxes.
      Average first bill is about $400 plus dollars.
      If I worked for the company named Cydcor, save your self.

The Coverage Map for Android should be updated in 2 months with the built-in speed test feature! It is taking a little longer than expected because we are re-building the Android app from the ground-up.

    Nice list as usual.
    When will you test Metro Stetson? The only real disadvantages that Metro has compared to other T-Mobile MVNOs is that they tie the SIM to the device but they have improved their website and app to make the process of switching work much better than they used to and hotspot data isn't included in the BYOD $30 ($25 with autopay) plan but is easy enough to work around on Android devices to the point I would say that shouldn't matter for anyone not using an iPhone. You also have to port a number to get the BYOD plan but that's not really something that should be an issue. Metro has an online activation portal for devices that support eSIM even and people can pick up a $10 SIM card at Walmart and use the activation portal too instead of having to deal with stores. No activation fees when signing up online.
    I would say most people with decent T-Mobile coverage would be happier with Metro's BYOD plan than Visible basic since T-Mobile's network doesn't tend to suffer as much during congestion and Metro has access to some of T-Mobile's roaming partners. There is even a $10 per month HD addon which means when Visible finally kills off HD streaming on Visible+ 1.0 (it's already gone on 2.0 and they've said that it was never supposed to exist on Visible+ 1.0 either and will be fixed), for $35 a month on Metro, people can get unlimited data and HD streaming. Customer service is definitely better on Metro, especially if you would like to not have to chat with people, since you can just call 611.
    I've had Metro since July and I've had service issues exactly zero times (I lost service when trying to transfer my eSIM between devices but after it happened a second time I realized it was just the Samsung eSIM issue, I never hear about it happening with other devices and transferring from my Samsung to my Pixel always worked, so I don't blame Metro for this as I see people having problems with eSIM on Samsung devices on other carriers too). Contrast that to Visible, which I've tried both basic and Visible+ multiple times over the years, and every single time there are issues. Whether it comes down to being unable to check out when signing up (has happened twice), losing 5G access (happened to me in December and required me to switch phones to fix it), having unusable data on the basic plan during severe congestion, having to make a new email address because they have blocked the use of Gmail aliases (which really just pushes me to use a temp mail service and a virtual card number I can just cancel to end my service), their app failing to provision the device properly, or the ineptitude of customer service, Visible is just a real headache to deal with.

    Surprised you didn’t mention consumer cellular especially for family plans. They have been offering 2 lines for $65 then $15 a line after that up to 10 lines. Also for additional lines you add they are giving you the first 3 months for $1. Code is “3Months” per their site. You get 50 GB of 5G data then it does crawl to like 550kb after that. Helium has a plan to for $20 a month on the TMO network. They give you 35 gb data before slowing you down. Maybe something to add to the lineup here. There are so many variables yet most plans are very close to each other. Makes it stressful lol.

    This is one of the most thorough videos on this subject and can literally save so many people money.
    I'm on T-Mobile (grandfathered Simple Choice Family Plan) with 9 lines, paying $203.85 (~$23/line) with unlimited data + 4GB mobile hotspot. Once I leave this plan, I can never get it back.
    I checked, and sometimes one of the phones uses about 10GB/data in a single month, and together the most data we used collectively is 42GB in a single month.
    One question I have: I'm considering shedding some of these lines to cheaper plans, and thus saving money. What do you think?
    I noticed you do not talk about any plans that can do large numbers of phone lines (like 9).

    • @crabbon2
      @crabbon2 Месяц назад

      Looks like I can get the US Mobile Shareable Data plan with 50GB and 9 lines for $146/month (or $130/mo for 40GB). But, data does stop when you hit the limit, where with TMobile, data never stops (though it does slow down).

    • @crabbon2
      @crabbon2 Месяц назад

      Maybe just do the US Mobile Unlimited Flex plan (paid annually) which equates to $15/mo/line, or $135/mo, and each line gets 10GB of premium data (which should be enough for all our lines). It seems like this is a better deal than the shared data deal. I think data won't stop as well, just deprioritized after 10GBs. Only thing missing is the hotspot, and I checked and only one line uses it... so maybe just that line pays the extra $30/year for the hotspot. So I think I'm getting everything I have now, and I'm saving $66/month, nearly $800/year in savings.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  Месяц назад

      Yep, you're on the right track! Those plans are exactly what I was going to recommend. The $15 10GB plan is an unbeatable value. And while yes, data does shut off if you hit your limit on the pooled plan, you can easily add more data at any time for $2 per GB, or $16 for 10GB. You may even be able to get a pool for some lines and then put others on the $15 10GB option.

    • @Alcateru
      @Alcateru Месяц назад

      It depends on what you are looking for, indeed anually does make it cheaper sometimes, but personally when I was checking US Mobile's site I found the plans to be too inflexible. Also, it depends on if you use the phone a lot. I like that in Tello you can usually save some money for shedding unlimited talk, since I barely make any voice calls and when I do I use Google Voice Whatsapp etc.
      In relation to these plans:
      US Mobile $10 for 2GB, unlimited talk/text vs Tello $7 for 5GB, unlimited text, 100 mins talk, $9 for 500 mins talk
      US Mobile $15 to pay anually for 10GB, $16 to pay monthly with Tello (100 mins talk, unlim. text) US Mobile $15 plan gives 1mbps data after too.So I guess better if you want to pay anually.
      Of course it depends on the needs. Personally,my sweet spot is 15GB, I pay $21/month for that at Tello.
