  • This herbal salve is amazing. It's for soothing back pain and helping to support the spine in cases of osteoporosis, arthritis, etc. A lady came into the clinic last week and told me about her back, and that she has small fractures in her spine. This is the custom formulation I made for her. I'm sharing it here because it may benefit some of you with back pains from spinal complaints. IMPORTANT NOTE: I may have said this was a 5% dilution, but it's a 2.5% dilution. Always check calculations....

    Heidi, I made this formula for my sister who experiences terrible lower back pain. She is so grateful for this salve because it has eased her pain tremendously. She has mentioned 3 different times in the last week that she used it and how wonderful it works. Now my husband is having me rub it on his lower back and he feels the relief too. Thank you so much for your education and kindness. I love watching your videos.

      Hi, I'm so sorry about your mom's bursitis. I know that's very painful. I legally can't answer this question here on social media, although I wish I could. I would suggest beginning a study of herbalism, and find a school with a VERY good student community that's active, with experienced herbalists. www.learn.healingharvesthomstead.com is our site. We've discussed this issue in ways we're allowed to inside the group, and everything is searchable. That would be the Confident Herbalist Tribe. Any of the Capsicum (peppers) with high amounts of capsaicin will work. It's nice if you can get readings on the Scoville heat scale...I like to use about 60K. If it's the heat or perhaps an allergy to peppers that's the reason, then you'll need to formulate a different recipe. • @HeidiVillegas
      @HeidiVillegas  10 месяцев назад +1

      Generally, tinctures in a salve will separate unless a very very small amount is used, and tinctures are not as strong as the essential oils. You won't have the same effect on the issue.

    Do you have any ideas for nerve pain from back to legs I'm on pain tablets and not touching it I've tried everything

    • @HeidiVillegas
      @HeidiVillegas  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, Debbie! All our bodies are different, but I suggest a multi-pronged approach, which is what I did to help my body heal my back/nerve pain. When I work with clients (and myself), here are considerations, and please remember I am NOT a medical doctor, and this is not medical advice: 1) Stress reduction and management techniques (much pain is held in the hips and low back). Deep breathing, thought management, etc. 2) Posture---Retain good posture at all times, sitting, standing, etc. 3) Exercise---certain movements can really help. These will depend on your pains. 4) Stretch poses---legs drawn up then out to the side, legs up the wall, there are others. 5) Spiritual practice. I'm a Christian, and prayers for healing and acceptance and gratitude help greatly. 6) Herbs and essential oils--- these choices will depend on the kind of pain the the causes, but they can be extremely helpful in conjunction with all the other practices to help. I used St. John's wort (salve + tincture---I refused the meds so could take it internally), cayenne (salve + tincture) with essential oils for inflammation and pain. Turmeric and black pepper, etc.

      Please check with a doctor before using herbs internally for him, especially if he is on medications, but I suggest a combo of willow bark (Salix alba) and devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens). Taking turmeric and black pepper combo may also help with the inflammation over time. **Again, check with your doc, as this is just general info, and I'm not a medical doctor.

      No, I don't sell products. Once in awhile I make custom formulas for my clients, though.

      All the Boswellia species are fairly interchangeable. I like B. sacra or B. carterii primarily though.

    Alcohol cleans but does not sterilize. It is not kill bacteria or viruses.

      If you're using 60% alcohol minimum, and it's left on the surface for a few moments (I leave around 10 minimum) it does sterilize according to the CDC (Center for Disease Control). Check out their website for more information. Thanks for the comment!
