I had the Gaming OC 3080 and its never missed a beat in the last 4 years, I just upgraded to this monster.
i have the non-super gigabyte gaming oc 4080 and it's been great so far. although for some reason i got some weird graphical glitches when using a msi vertical mount and msi riser cable. have had no issues at all while plugged directly into the motherboards pcie slot though.
How does it compare to the 3080 in terms of performance?
@@pm110978 crazy difference! I loved my 3080 but it couldn't really handle the new power hungry games like Cyberpunk and Starfield. The 4080S kicks anything's butt well over 100FPS in any game and some games you are looking at 300-400 FPS. The 4080S also uses the same massive cooler from the 4090 which is great as it stays super cool and QUIET. Also it overclocks really well! the memory especially can be seriously overclocked! The 4080 and 4080S both go on sale pretty regular so keep an eye out for that. :)
@@pm110978 Massive difference, especially in the top demanding games like Cyberpunk and Starfield its unreal.
Look into your case once a year with level tool. Mine 4080 Gaming OC after 1 and a half year sagged even with Gigabyte support bracket, and it needed rescue from bending and eventually failing.
just upgraded from gtx1070, this RTX 4080 SUPER Gaming OC is really impressive.. love it
Just got mine . It’s pair with Ryzen 7800x3d so it’s perfect combo. Also 4k gaming with oled LG C2 tv

1:17 - good to see gigabyte removed that pcb cutout that was causing cracks on this model. 3:08 - like the recessed power port, good for keeping the cable straight for 40mm.
Ordering mine next week, the 1080ti has server me well. but it just isnt quite keeping up anymore (its also on the fritz)

Just bought one to build my second pc with an i7 13700k. my first pc was a 1060 3gb years ago ahaha gpu are so much bigger its crazy.
Have just done the same thing gone from a gtx760, i5 4570 to a i7 13700k 4070ti super. Dramatic difference

Sorry for the delay! I would personally go for the Gigabyte model tbh. It is a more gamer-centric card. The RGB is cool. I also would prefer to save some cash for pretty much the same performance.

I got this delivered tonight. Will set it up tomorrow and see how much my 5600x and ddr4 are holding the system back compared to your more modern setup. Found some of your numbers a bit confusing though...does performance really go from 34 to 89 fps in AW2 with just DLSS quality? Feels more like that might include frame gen too?

Yes all tests were with Frame Gen turned on unless stated otherwise. I did a set of tests without frame gen in the one slide.
@@GLITCHEDZA OK, great, thanks! U couldn't help me with a trouble shooting issue? I have switched my 3080 to the 4080. The 4080 comes with three ends on the power adapter but one of them has a garbage bin sign on it, which I assumed meant not to use it. So I just plugged the two eight pin power ends I had plugged in to my 3080 into two of the ends on the provided adapter. Only now PC won't power on. Maybe I've screwed up a connection elsewhere while installing it (I had to remove a whole nunch of stuff to get it in) or do you think I need to go get another eight pin cable from my PSU (presently in another location) or its more likely I've screwed up somewhere else while installing the GPU?
You'll need to use the power adapter included in the box. Plug in the one end into your GPU, this is the 16-pin connector. The other three ends need to go into three 6-pin PCIE cables. Use all three. This should work without an issue. If it isn't powering on, it might be another issue on the PSU side. Perhaps the motherboard power cable is loose or the button wire has been unplugged during installation. However, even if you don't plug the GPU in correctly, the PC will still power on. The GPU just won't have power. So by the sound of things, it might be a loose connector. @@formulaic78
@@GLITCHEDZA Cheers. It was indeed a loose pwr connector which after much fiddling I got back in without having to remove cooler and GPU! Now I just need to go get the missing PCIE cable, Thanks!

@GLITCHED hello. what do you think is it possible to put this card in to a microATX tower/mobo ? 75mm should be enough, right?
Double check dimensions ( lenght ) as it is over 34 cm not 32, that can be important as lot of cases are too small for this GPU. You also mentioned 310mm fans 😆 should be 110 mm
I would never buy Gigabyte because of their awful warranty support. I follow a couple of GPU repair channels, Gigabyte are one of the many companies that will refuse warranty repairs by slapping on a little arrow sticker on a random spot on the PCB implying that the customer damaged it there and that their warranty is null and void as a result. I have yet to see an example of one of their repairs where this little sticker has anything to do with the reason the card is dead.
@GLITCHED any coil whine? Will you pay attention to this important aspect?
There's no coil whine. If there was I would have mentioned it.

@@GLITCHEDZA OK, thank you for remembering. by the way, Gigabyte has removed the vapor chamber from the RTX 4XXX Super series. I wonder what effect this has on the temperatures and noise of GPU fans. Currently it is a large copper plate. Another review shows that there are strange temperature spikes on the GPU

@@Busko360 Temps are crazy low. 30 while idle and 70 while under stress testing. That massive over engineered 4090 cooler they stuck on it works wonders. QUIET too.

You might want to upgrade to a newer CPU. Or perhaps a little more powerful one.

Just ordered mine. 1080ti has served me well the last 7 years🫡 it now is starting to have a harder time with the newest games. But hopefully my father can have it, so I can make a gaming computer for him! He doesn’t play games with too crazy graphics ;) Hopefully this card will stay with me as long as the 1080ti, if not I hopefully can resell it for around the same price i paid for it. About $1400
My gigabyte 1080ti had a fan issue. Hopefully I will not experience that with this one. Anyone had any issues with theirs so far?
if a card is 4 slot thick, its IO shield has to be 4 slot and reinforced. And to prevent sagging they could make 2 or 3 slot bracket that screws to the cooler, or something like that. Because those cards are cracking and gigabyte does not replaces them under the warranty, but its literaly their fault.
just picked this up. Wondering if the corsair 600w cable that came with my PSU is good enough? Or should I get another GPU cable (psu only came with 1x6+2 and 1x 6+2,6+2) to have 3 into the nvidia adapter
I replaced my 650w with a msi a850g. It has a single cable from the psu connect to the gpu
It should be enough. If you're talking about the Corsaid 600W PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR Type-4 PSU Power Cable then it is made for these GPUs. Even if you have a PSU like I do where the 12VHPWR cable doesn't split into PCIE on the PSU end, all those 600W cables are specced to power these 40-Series GPUs.

i just notice that ur using cm c700m and u are not using gpu bracket to mount the card because you have remove the original back side ..so ho are u keeping the up in its place
I have the chimney layout. So the motherboard is positioned in the middle of the inside of the case. The back has two holes which I use to wire the DisplayPort and other cables through. I have had it this way for a while and really enjoy using it. I also feel like it helps with dust prevention.
Anyone have any idea if this GPU supports the EK-Quantum Vector² Master RTX 4080?

How do you connect this if you have two 8 pin GPU power connectors going to your 3070?
You'll need to use the adapter that comes in the box. It will connect into those 8-pin cables and on the other end there will be one connector for the GPU.
Man im trying to build a gaming and AI PC to last me at least 5 years. Im thinking of Intel i9 14900K, on an Asus Z790 Dark Hero Motherboard. With an MSI 4090 Suprim GPU. How does it look? Should i use different set-up? Should i wait for next year models like Nvidia 5000 or what?
This setup sounds good. You can wait for the 5000 series but they will likely be a lot more expensive. A "good" 40-series like a 4080 SUPER will last you a few years. With DLSS, it definitely helps prolong the life span.
Good set up men but please please dont get the 4090 suprim beacuse of coil whine it has a lot of colwhine go for another brand like gigabyte, aourus

Hi! No the connector is the same.
@@GLITCHEDZA I know the connection is the same but I see the 4080 super socket position is different.
It is slightly indented into the card but it doesn't change how you plug it in. If anything, the socket makes the cable rest downwards on the gap so the door of your case doesn't bend it. The cards are very much the same. Different ranges and different colours. The Master Ed is slightly faster but Windforce and Gaming OC have the same specs.
@@GLITCHEDZA hmmm.... okay, From what I have understood and researched, the Gaming OC has more and better VRMs than the Windforce models - not sure how accurate that is, but I stumbled upon 3 different Posts/Articles supporting this claim. weird.

Does anyone know if the RGB system is compatible with Armory Crate?
No sadly it won't work. This card requires Gigabyte Control Centre. I wish there was a uniformed app for all of them though. Some do work. I remember I used the Cooler Master app and it controlled my NZXT cooler. But it is also limited and I don't think works on GPUs. Maybe give it a try. Either that or the NZXT app.

Yes, it is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Such a good-looking game. Also quite demanding so nice to use in benchmarks.
Any coil whine?
I have the 4090 version, no coil whine on mine. msi and asus models are notorious for coil whine this generation. the gaming Oc has been top tier for the 4000 series. thermals are great, only air-cooled models that have better thermals are the STRIX and the AORUS MASTER... but yea forgot the last time my fans roared.

I enjoy the Gigabyte range tbh. We also can't get the Founder Ed in my region, well not that I know of.
