So the game coming to the aspect of driving with fade and draw resembles and reflects exactly what Mario Golf did on the Nintendo 64 as each character had their own style as well as if you check out the putting style as far as angles and field reads then it's exactly like Mario Golf also bc Mario Golf has the exact same structure and the aspects also reflect Jack nicklaus pc game from the late 90s early 2000s on swing mechanics
So in all there's nothing really new about this game bc if you're around my age I'm 33 and older and have played golf games of all kind then this is just a new Gen iteration at best which will sell great bc it brings dynamics of all those games together to be one great game. O ly thing I'd like to see more of is of course pro players and past champions from the beginning of the existence of golf.
I really hope they will let us make multiple custom golfers and level them up like the old games. Also wish EA would add silly swing animations again like the fantasy characters from Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003. It was so much fun.
This is very important. I hadn't played a golf game in forever and I bought 2k23. Thinking I could just jump in and play the my career and learn at the level I would want to play and reset my player when I was ready, I didn't even know how to swing, now I'm alright and can restart my career but can't reset my player stats. This sucks, every game allows for multiple careers but this just ruined it for me. If ea allows this it will win me over
Does anyone know if while we are playing against other players in multiplayer if we will be able to see the other golfers? I want to see the entire person and animations.
You would think years of lessons learned they would add time and weather changes that affect the environment you play on. The old Tiger games had real weather on the real courses.
@@Antidepressiva1980 EA is known for rushing unfinished games and hardly fixing issues with updates. It seems they were much better quality company in the past.
My top 3 concerns in order: 1) reticle placement determines the length of the shot, 2) it will be way too easy to hit the ball perfectly straight on hardest difficulty, 3) 30 fps.
I’m just happy there is another option coming for golf. Something we don’t have for: NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, in other words nothing else. It won’t be perfect but will offer something for those who do not enjoy 2ks Golf game.
This game is going to suck like the last 40 golf games. Much to hard to play casually and no chance of birdies or eagles from off the green. Around 2000 tiger woods had a great game where a lot of the shot was in how much in flight spin you gave the ball it created an exciting game golf game where there would be no problem getting 4 players to run locally, that rocked. there is no way to get anyone to even consider this wicked learning curve. It's a golf game but plays like half the dev team formerly worked exclusively for hearts of iron or europa
The Xbox game store really has me confused. It appears only the deluxe edition is optimized for series X but according to EA’s website, the game is only available for next gen and pc
I find it a little strange on why nobody asks if it's going to be cross platform or if it's going to be in the future. That question has never been asked on every single video I've watched or read about. Very strange 🤔.
As a "filthy casual," the Good News doesn't really affect me a whole lot. But the framerate cap ... that's [dirty word]. I don't come at that from some kind of elitist point of view. I see it as a giant red flag on their engine and foundational design. They've been out of the game for a few years. It was their CHOICE when to re-enter the market. They had no "yearly-release" time pressures. So if their engine can't handle 60 FPS on the current Gen hardware, that tells me they either designed it for Last Gen - OR - they haven't bothered to update or rebuild their previous TWG engines and are using major pieces of it here. It screams "do the least effort for the most money," which is a hallmark of EA. I will be very interested to see how they monetize it - the other hallmark of EA.
I would tend to agree. I’ve never understood that about golf games in general. They always seem to have weird glitches and jerky animations and awkward cuts. Even this game looks that way so far. Theyre not doing that much. Take a game like Spider-Man, literally a fully realized version of New York City with no load times and fast smooth action 60 fps gameplay. This needs to load a single hole of a course and some simple animations. I don’t know what I’m talking about and am obviously not a developer but that’s the way it feels.
my main concern is the premium points "pay to win?", can you earn them by playing? or do you need to drop more money to buy better clubs/balls? or is it just cosmetic stuff?
I've still seen nothing that shows/says we can turn off the aim line and the arc behind the golfer. When looking at screen I just wanna see my golfer like 2k23 no assists
So I covered this in my ultimate preview video. It has been confirmed there is a difficulty option for both the aiming arc and swing meter and you can turn them both off
I wonder is the 30 FPS due to the game being set in high fidelity mode. It's ridiculous that there isn't an option for 60 FPS or dynamic weather conditions in a next gen game. EA have really hurt their chances of this title being successful by leaving alot of us very disappointed. They seriously need to get the finger out before launch.
There's a pretty easy way, but a bit harsh, to get them to fix the 30/60 in consoles. Just don't buy them until it's fixed. We can complain all we want but if the game for consoles is selling, they won't make the effort to fix it. This isn't a tiny issue but a huge 1 and what they listen to most is sales, if they console version isn't selling then they'll have to eat the loses or fix it. Thanks for the updates.
I feel like 30 FPS isn't as bad for a golf game! It's not like it's COD or a high action game. A game that for sure would require 60FPS. I'm ok with it. U won't even notice after An hour or so. If your just playing off line mode it's not crushing. They can patch it in later. I thought you were gonna say it's deplayed or you can't create a golfer. That would have been more crushing. What do you guys all think?
There is really no practice range! To me the swing is slower and really looking at two meters while swinging. I found it confusing about the draw and fade as well.
If you're an OG to EA Golf games, then you know that having to draw a shot meant bringing it down and to the left and pushing up and to the right. This is the same stuff that's always been in the game.. this just makes the people like me who have played EA golf games for two decades WAY ahead of new players..if you don't believe me get an old Xbox and Tiger woods PGA tour 2005-2014.
Yeah so in those games it was diagonal. In this one, they changed it to left and right diagonal at the backswing only and then you have to pull through straight through at the top (instead of diagonal).

So a remake of this game adding (technologie of our time) adding new golfers (keeping the legends please) and more accessories (Golf Club, clothing etc.) would be my dream golf game. All the other golf game since the Tiger Woods PGA tour 14 were highly disappointing!

Only three times of day to choose from to play? My question is this...does the lighting change and move as the round goes on or is the lighting time of day static like 2K21-23? In the older Tiger Woods games the sun would always move across the sky so if you start in the afternoon the lighting moves to dusk eventually.
30 FPS on a golf game isn’t the end of the world. Its not like golfers will suddenly break out into sword fight after each hole needing those extra frames haha.
30 fps is the dealbreaker for me. I don’t have a Series X to play something I could have on an Xbox One. I’ll just keep playing The Show 23 till an eventual update.
I'm not impressed at all by the ball dynamics as it rolls and bounces along the ground. It just doesn't look authentic to me. I've played a lot of 2K23, and they have the ball dynamics (rolling, bouncing) looking very real and authentic. Maybe it's just me.
real question is will the ball roll authentically through heavy rough in 2k games it runs/bounces through it most of the time. they havent really shown a ball plugging in the rough in any of the footage so far.
They need to go back a make it like the old tiger woods gamed with the cool special characters to beat. That was awesome people loved it. Some one should do it again and make a shot ton of money
Just an FYI: PGA 2K23's career mode tie-break playoffs are broken...after the December patch, whenever I tie in a career mode event, I "share the win" with the opponent(s).
I mean 30fps is bad, but im sure the career mode will still be enough to make it a better game than 2k. I just hope it’s not too easy and that the game makes you feel like you’re actually there vs past games where you don’t even see your partner for the round. Fps is important but not a dealbreaker for me. Have they released anything about the online play?
lets hope we can use settings online in ranked games that dont require me to be a professional like most of the assists turned off. hoping for experience like those from tiger woods 2005 2006 days
You all act shocked when EA drops the ball on major things like FPS and weather. You know damn well EA wont add this in later on. EA is the laziest company, just look how they treat Madden. Don't get your hopes up for anything when it comes to EA.
Wow 30 fps. That’s crazy. Would rather take a slight dip in graphical quality. To be fair, not a lot of high speed action in golf, but still disappointing. I kind of hope they will release a demo to test for ourselves but i doubt it. Was going to preorder this but I may be skipping out on day 1 purchase to see the reviews now
Not even sure why we bought next generation consoles. It's GOLF. No reason we can't have 4k and 60fps. Doesn't sound like we can turn the swing meter off either.
For all the talk about using cameras to capture player likeness and player-specific swing mechanics, why do all of the players appear to have the same bulky physique and generic swing?
Deal breaker for me. EA takes 7 yrs to bring this game to market. They sell it as NextGen only. Capping the framerate at 30 fps is just plain lazy & unforgivable, Imo. This needs to be fixed before release.
I love how everyone’s like “30 FPS isn’t that bad” while you watch on a 7 inch screen; wait till you put it on your tv and it’s so unplayable it gives you a headache… it’s next gen only… it’s unacceptable to not be 60FPS… now they will release a new one next year and say 60FPS is a feature.
@@GamerAbility I agree. And they don’t have dynamic weather. There was a rain option when I played hot shots golf on PS2. Just makes no sense to not have a weather feature on a outdoor sports game. What next, they going to take away wind…..
Currently April 3rd early access launch on EA PRO - Road to masters not connecting to servers and crashing to desktop on pc. As usual EA having issues with launch. You'd think they would have game deployment working on release with so many titles and experience from other titles. So be warned!
What I was hoping for was a course designer it's gonna be a real big blow to the nuts if they don't have it considering 2K3 does. Really not even the fact 2k has it more over the longevity of the game. 30 course is a healthy number at launch however if your in it for the long haul they will get stale.
@stp366 Yeah I still stand by what I said, knowing ea they will probably charge for course dlc. If given the proper tools in the course designer, endless amounts of beautiful couses would be at our disposal, fiction, non fiction, fantasy courses. Call me greedy but considering all the wonderful courses in the states, world wide, 30 plus a few more along the way doesn't scratch the surface. 2k got it right with this feature.
@stp366 We will have to see about that, I don't trust EA, judging from their past although I hope your right. If that is to be the case that helps out a little. Still though it will be a shame for the game, it obviously blows 2k out of the water with visuals and if they deliver on the physics, (judging by the trailer it looks like they did). We are still at their mercy as to what courses they want us to play. So it would be a shame to not be able to play your personal favorite golf course recreated with their game engine. I'm bias here, links ls is the best golf game I have played. Reason I bring it up though is obviously its extremely outdated in regaurds to graphics, sound, some game play features. However they still have online tournaments to this day, big reason is courses galore. Heck somebody recreated Herron Lakes golf course, that's where we played our district tournaments in high school, to be able to have something like that recreated in this new game engine, man wet dreams.
@@rdaws73 They said at launch the weather so wishful thinking to it coming later. I don't think this will be an annual release game so they'll just add dlc overtime like they did with Rory. As for 30fps I don't think that's changing. Makes me kind of glad I bought a Series S since even a Series X wouldn't take advantage of it. I think the game will still look great
I saw this announced recently and decided to take a look while I'm deliberating. I was about to just grab 2K23 because I love the gameplay mechanics and the HB Studios engine from the Golf Club days. I think the EA game looks far prettier than 2K's offering, but yeah... 30fps is a no-no on PS5 in 2023. I'll be taking 2K23 by the looks of it. In fact, if the EA game had been 60fps+ then I'd probably have bought both to be honest, but 30fps is a deal breaker for sure.
honestly the no dynamic weather is HUGE disappointment like wtf, would be awesome to have overcast front 9 and rainy back 9 with lower visibility, really hope they add that in along with crossplay. Want the frames and the ability to still play with friends that don’t have PC
People keep calling current consoles “next gen” but they’re current gen at this point(years from launch). 30 FPS is last gen. 60 FPS is the standard now. Every gamer knows this. I actually couldn’t believe that EA is releasing a current gen game at 30 FPS(should be EASIER to do 60 on a golf game). Red flags all over…..
Is it just me but I don't see the problem. It's not gonna be as bad as its been made to be. It's a single player sport and slow in gameplay so shouldn't be a problem. I think 60fps is more important for racing games and large team games and 1st person shooters with more going on. Just me ? Great video anyways. 👍
30 FPS?? Seriously? Come on EA!! I was so looking forward to at least next gen graphics. This may be a disappointment coming our way. Thank you, Ryan for the update.
Happy to keep you updated! Yeah I was really surprised about it only a 30 fps option, but maybe it gets added before launch or in a post launch update. My guess is it is an optimization issue.

Not buying it if it’s 30fps, it’s a golf game, therefore should be 60fps 4k with RT on next gen consoles. Will wait on 2k 24 instead
you mean 2k 25 they skip years.
They need to go back a make it like the old tiger woods gamed with the cool special characters to beat. That was awesome people loved it. Some one should do it again and make a shot ton of money
30! why not 60fps?
Just an FYI: PGA 2K23's career mode tie-break playoffs are broken...after the December patch, whenever I tie in a career mode event, I "share the win" with the opponent(s).
Me too….still waiting for a fix.
30 fps ? are we in 1997?
No weather? This is insane
I mean 30fps is bad, but im sure the career mode will still be enough to make it a better game than 2k. I just hope it’s not too easy and that the game makes you feel like you’re actually there vs past games where you don’t even see your partner for the round. Fps is important but not a dealbreaker for me. Have they released anything about the online play?
i really hope they add weather soon. that is my only gripe.
Yeah I hope they can add weather as well
PC here so no worries about the 30 FPS cap on consoles. That wouldn't be a deal breaker for me anyway.
30 FPS! Really? I wont buy it unless it has the 60 FPS option. Sad times.
lets hope we can use settings online in ranked games that dont require me to be a professional like most of the assists turned off. hoping for experience like those from tiger woods 2005 2006 days
I'll be playing this on PC as fps is unlocked I think graphically with my setup it will look better on PC
One thing I’ve learned about EA is , they don’t care what you want. They just care about what they want.
and they want your money !! hehe but yes you are right.
Thanks for the update. The only bad news for me was the frame rate since I turn the time swing off anyway...
Happy to keep you updated!
I don’t trust any game EA puts out. I’ll wait to see reviews and gameplay before I even THINK about buying it
this is always a must for any game !! its ridiculous to get hyped up nowadays, not smart.
Lol and this is strictly a next gen title at 30fps. That makes no sense. Just go ahead and release it on Xbox One X so my poor Dad can play.
You all act shocked when EA drops the ball on major things like FPS and weather. You know damn well EA wont add this in later on. EA is the laziest company, just look how they treat Madden. Don't get your hopes up for anything when it comes to EA.
Can you make it where you only play against other swing stick users instead of clickers
So this has not been announced yet
Never been happier beeing a PC player lol. Really sucks for the console players. Hopefully they can patch in a performance mode
Yh PC should look and play better than the console, BUT good luck finding people to play with on PC.
Seriously? The optimization will be shit!
@@ゆみす魔王 and wet weather!
No weather changes is disappointing
Dynamic weather. No big deal.
Wow 30 fps. That’s crazy. Would rather take a slight dip in graphical quality. To be fair, not a lot of high speed action in golf, but still disappointing. I kind of hope they will release a demo to test for ourselves but i doubt it. Was going to preorder this but I may be skipping out on day 1 purchase to see the reviews now
feels nice to not get stroked on pc with the quality for once
Not even sure why we bought next generation consoles. It's GOLF. No reason we can't have 4k and 60fps. Doesn't sound like we can turn the swing meter off either.
Weather thing pisses me off because it’s a huge factor. Let’s focus on the fact they have some great courses and 5 majors
For all the talk about using cameras to capture player likeness and player-specific swing mechanics, why do all of the players appear to have the same bulky physique and generic swing?
30fps?!? That's a huge bummer. I'll be getting the PC version then.
Got this game last week on sale it’s damn good imo
Now 2k golf is on sale worth buying ? Or stick to this game
Deal breaker for me. EA takes 7 yrs to bring this game to market. They sell it as NextGen only. Capping the framerate at 30 fps is just plain lazy & unforgivable, Imo. This needs to be fixed before release.
Bad news...pre order and you get Madden 23
Honestly I don’t care at all about dynamic weather. If I wanted to play golf in the rain I’d just go outside.
no fog, or over cast as well
Seems they played twisted sister course for that shot shape LMAO
I love how everyone’s like “30 FPS isn’t that bad” while you watch on a 7 inch screen; wait till you put it on your tv and it’s so unplayable it gives you a headache… it’s next gen only… it’s unacceptable to not be 60FPS… now they will release a new one next year and say 60FPS is a feature.
Makes no sense to have it capped at 30 since it’s a next gen game. I play on PS5 and this news makes me not want to play it
Yeah it really does not make sense to cap the next gen consoles at 30 fps. Makes me think the game is poorly optimized overall
@@GamerAbility I agree. And they don’t have dynamic weather. There was a rain option when I played hot shots golf on PS2. Just makes no sense to not have a weather feature on a outdoor sports game. What next, they going to take away wind…..
@@OHIOstMIKE824 Wind two dollars extra. But wind was free in the other games? You want wind? Yes please! 3 dollars! What? No wind for you!
@@ravenwda007Someone’s been watching Seinfeld
Currently April 3rd early access launch on EA PRO - Road to masters not connecting to servers and crashing to desktop on pc. As usual EA having issues with launch. You'd think they would have game deployment working on release with so many titles and experience from other titles. So be warned!
What I was hoping for was a course designer it's gonna be a real big blow to the nuts if they don't have it considering 2K3 does.
Really not even the fact 2k has it more over the longevity of the game. 30 course is a healthy number at launch however if your in it for the long haul they will get stale.
I thought this at first but this game will offer the best most real version of the courses in every detail, plus they will add more in the future
@@thedutchrutter16 thats about the only thing 2k got right. Ive heard new courses added will be free update for EA
Brilliant update. I wonder, how the wind will affect the game?
Can, u play Xbox one with other Xbox x series friends
Yeah 30 fps stinks a bit. The weather too but sounds like they will add that. Going back to Tiger 11 the weather was a cool feature to the game.
EA wont add anything, what are you smoking?
@@rdaws73 They said at launch the weather so wishful thinking to it coming later. I don't think this will be an annual release game so they'll just add dlc overtime like they did with Rory. As for 30fps I don't think that's changing. Makes me kind of glad I bought a Series S since even a Series X wouldn't take advantage of it. I think the game will still look great
I don’t think companies understand how bad 30fps makes games with good graphics feel. The better the graphics the worse 30 fps feels.
Need to dumb down the graphics for 60 fps.
Cross platform won't work either. 60 fps is a definite advantage to PC master race members.
Will there be a real name or a radom name in the lederbord career?
If they can't get 60fps on next gen consoles with a golf game there is something wrong. There should be at least a 1440p 60fps mode.
I stopped playing because I just couldn't win no matter how much I learned, losing isn't fun. Still a beautifully made game.
Looks like rory updated.
The deal breaker for me is that there won’t be a course designer. I’ll stick with Golf+.
Gamer ability is like I use cheats do my shot I don't need casual hitting shots like mine
thanks for the knowledge Ryan!!
Happy to keep you updated! Appreciate you Path!
@@ゆみす魔王 you didn't get 4k@30fps on PS1 mate, come on now, really.
@@ゆみす魔王 this is not a ps1 u gonna be playing on. there is a lot more besides the framerate that make up the visuals and gameplay
I can live with 30fps as long as it’s more playable than 2k23 (which won’t be difficult)
welp.. I play pc so cool. However, 30 fps on a ps5 is nuts
Won't be buying now. 30fps locked is dreadful. Sorry EA. Was really looking forward to this game too...😢
Needing a controller on pc is also a game breaker!
Yeah, the 3 Click is important to me. But no 60 FPS? Wow.... someone might wanna fix that. Just sayin.
Hey Ryan
Hey Dustin!
30 FPS??
No real time of day or weather effects!!??? And only 30 FPS on next gen!!? I’m out! Damn! Fix and I’ll be back.
30fps is absolute nonsense for nextgen. Will definitely be a dealbreaker if this is a 7/10 game. It’s forgivable if it’s a 9/10-10/10 golf game.
NO TRUE SWING THATS NO GOOD
