a few notes to improve your bass game: learn to set the gain, either by ear or with a multimeter. you'll get so much more out of your setup than by messing with the head unit controls. zero out the head unit, all bands 0, sub level 0, bass/mid/high zero. turn off bass boost and any other thing like 'powerful sound' or whatever you're HU calls it get the big 3 done in zero gauge. alternator to battery positive, chassis ground to engine ground, battery negative to engine/chassis. this will improve current flow. if that's a standard automotive battery, take it out. they emit toxic and/or explosive fumes. get am AGM or other sealed battery like a yellow top. get tinned OFC wire, like stinger, knukonceptz, etc. it lasts longer and transfers current so much better than CCA. it's worth the extra cost by a mile. custom box, custom box, custom box. a reputable sound shop will make those babies shine for about 500 dollars. it sounds like a lot, but if you don't have the knowledge or tools to build your own box, it is the best route. properly wire to correct ohm load. 1 ohm minimum on that amp, i know you can't on a dual 2 ohm 2 sub setup, but if you don't wire above the minimum impedance, you risk distortion blowing your subs, your amp giving out, or at best poor sound quality and level. some amps will protect, others will light up like a bonfire. I wish you the best on your bass pursuits.

I have the exact same setup. 2 12” P3D2 with the rockford prime 1200 watt amp, and a db link capacitor. I have mine in a ported enclosure with isolated chambers. I have it wired to 2 ohm as well because its really all we have for wiring options. The birth sheet that came with my amp says 959 watts @ 2 ohm. That is enough power to push these. They are rated 600 watts RMS a piece. So your getting about 475 rms each. Which is enough to drive them, but not to their full potential of course. But i will recommend the sound deadner. It makes a HUGE difference in quality of sound. I have my entire trunk and lid covered and all i hear is bass, no rattle. All in all a nice setup you have…all i can say is remain teachable in car audio, cuz just when you think you know everything, you learn something new!

Just bought two p3's, prime amp, box, sound dampening mat, pioneer radio, big 3 kit, and an amp wiring kit for a total of $925 shipping and discounts included. And got a 250 amp alternator from rock auto for $100. For comparison my stock 100 amp alternator was $150 from autozone. Good shit too.
I would either get a bigger amp or a 2nd prime, 1 for each sub and a better box and it will be louder and sound better and I would match gain amps to headunit that makes a huge difference.
I got two of these bad boys as well, but I'm still in the process of getting the build done. Have to finish the wiring, as well as waiting on a P1000x1bd amp and some rear Punch P1653 speakers to arrive. I got two Power T1650's up front, and a P600X4 amp to drive the speakers, as well as Punch P1T-S tweeters connected to a Prime R250X4, source head unit is a Pioneer DMH-2660NEX. All cables are 1/0 OFC (Big 3 Upgrade as well as power/ground cable for amps), except the R250X4 which has an 8G CCA cable.

Doesn't matter. Most amps aren't not ½ ohm stable, doesn't mean they can't handle it.. I had 2 T1D212's, Power 12" T1 2-Ohm DVC's running on a T1000-1, it was 1ohm stable, and it not only jammed the hell out of those 12's, but it never shut off, nor burned up.. I can't remember the last time I saw an amp that was ½ ohm stable.. Most are 1ohm to 2ohm stable.. But most quality amps will run at ½ ohm or even ¼ ohm stable, with no problem.
Brad Eggleston p3d2 12 can be wired on either 1 oh or 4 ohms. So one of the subs can be connected to the amp on 1 ohm. If you take two of these and connect to one amp, this will give you a resistance of 0.5 ohm which this amp can't handle or if you wire them on 2 ohms, amp will push only 600 wrms and two of them are wired to perform at 1200 wrms. So to conclude this amp does not match this configuration. Should you wish to keep the Amp you better have p3d4 versions of these subs. Two of p3d4 will connect at 1 ohm and will perform to its full potential. Hope this helps.
Yes deffently need another sub box sealed is where u would get that tight clean bass somewhere around 1.25 to 1.50 cubic feet per sub then these would be banging stuff the box chambers with a a lb of poly fill per cubic foot per side o ya ...lol

I had these same exact subs back in the days they were my first subwoofers 2 12's RockFord Fosgate P3D4 mine sounded a lot clearer though inside the car I think its cause I adjusted my settings on my amps and at the red light you could literally feel the ground outside pounding hard I had my volume turned down to about 20 and it was hitting harder then at higher volume

They still hit hard but in my opinion I don’t get as much from them as I should. I’ve taken my car to an audio shop and even they said it’s hitting perfect. Jason, you wouldn't get the impedance down low enough to draw maximum power from your amp with that configuration unless you own multiple 1 ohm subs, or wired 2 - 2ohm subs up to each amp, which would total 8 subs, therefore it isn't practical. You would need too much custom stuff like extra batteries, a 300+ amp alternator or an extra alternator, plus a whole bunch of lost space, more wiring, and more stuff that could go wrong. You would be better off scrapping that idea and buying a Punch 1500 or T-2500 and running 4 4 ohm T series subs. Hell, even 2 subs with that much clean power would be too much for your ears to safely handle unless you are entering an SPL competition.

When you advertise your sound system and you are really proud of it, but word of advise please take it back and get your money back because bass and mids and tweeters are to make a great sound together not sound like your at a construction site with six guys drilling holes in walls. Rolling It up depends on what he wants. Sealed boxes have better bass response and tightness. But ported box is boomier bass by far. And always build your own,it's easy and way cheaper,plus it always sounds tons better

Never bolt the amp on the box, makes that side of the speaker box sound funny, acts like a wall on the box if that makes sense

Joaquin Murrieta I got 2 of these p3’s hooked up to an alpine mvr-1200 and I truely don’t think you can be heard from a block away. My wife says I shake the house from probably half a block but I don’t think so. I can barely feel the vibration outside. It may be my car (2010 Nissan Maxima) but I don’t know. The bad sounds good though. My lows and mids just fall through because of my ported box.

When you advertise your sound system and you are really proud of it, but word of advise please take it back and get your money back because bass and mids and tweeters are to make a great sound together not sound like your at a construction site with six guys drilling holes in walls. But look on bright side you did get what your money paid for garbage bass. Till you upgrade to right subs and amps good luck my brother from a unknown friend of good bass and music

Rolling It up depends on what he wants. Sealed boxes have better bass response and tightness. But ported box is boomier bass by far. And always build your own,it's easy and way cheaper,plus it always sounds tons better
