It’s very simple. There are many people who are not opera fans, so their attention was to Sydnie, who is more mainstream. But , no doubt, Innocent is a great singer.

He should have won the BGT 2024, but he didn't, for he didn't garner enough votes to win the show. That's just the brutal reality of the show. I'm sure, however, that his future in opera is secured.
I am sad Innocent Masuku didn't place second, but at 4th, he has exposure that will take him to Opera. Sydnie Christmas will make the West End,. They are both at the tops in their different musical genres.
He IS the winner! He has walked into his destiny!
There's something in his voice I could listen him sing over and over again. This was just one competition. And it wouldn't be first time in this kind of competitiond the one who didn't win got the most succesful career.

I am NOT an Opera person, but when I listened to Innocent Masuku, he just CAPTURED MY HEART, MIND & SOUL! I have NEVER EVER LISTENED to OPERA this WONDERFUL! like YOU GUYS, I AM WONDERING why SIMON did not give him the Red Button, because he CERTAINLY DESERVED IT! The PERSONALITY on this young man, truly FLOORED ME, because I NEVER EVER EXPECTED what came out of his mouth! SUCH A GREAT & WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I will be DEFINITELY FOLLOWING this young man & buying his music!
I'm heartbroken that Innocent didn't win BGT. But this fellow South African believes in him, and I know he'll still go very far!

First he didn't get a Golden buzzer but was given all the praise for a Golden buzzer. No disrespect, but Innocent in a white skin would have gotten a golden buzzer hands down. By the way he should have won the show. Christmas was good but Innocent was magical.

He should have won, had it been he chose the semifinal song in place of the finals, he was amazing back then. But this song sounded a bit flat without the power of opera music behind it.
I also thought the gladiotor song would have push him over the winning line.

He was second among the vocalists and imo that was the right order. Great voice but second time he didn;t finish same time as the music and picking Nessum Dorma might not be a great idea in a show where that piece will be one of the few operatc piexes known to most viewers and then it will be in Pavarottis rendition. It means he basically was "battling"Pavarotti. Innocent is good but not THAT good. Personally..I prefer both Pavarotti's and Kaufman's rendition over Innocents one, But no matter what..I don't think he could have beaten Sydnie this year

Impressive, but not able to be inventive with his song, so he couldn't win the hearts of the audience, especially those at home, which Sydnie did do, again and again, from her very audition.
The judges deliberately speak so well of each finalist.
He was fourth place, I think, and Frank Rhodes the magician was the runner up.
Besf on the show.gave me goose pimples.i could listen to him all night. Long can't say that about S ydney. Christmas .
Sydnie was the deserved winner. Innocent shouldve been in top 3 for sure but he wasnt better than Sydnie
In my eyes innocent and Sydney would be a coin flip for top spot evenly amazing .now that they know he's out there he will be recognized and he will be extremely successful without a doubt
