Seriously, I know so many people with the diagnosis of schizophrenia who do well. It is all about how you approach it and your attitude as a parent makes a difference. I'd encourage you to join NAMI and other support groups and start building from where you are. Go on a march for mental health--take your son. Be positive.
My son has schizophrenia and since his diagnosis I've been grieving. It's chronic sorrow and it's a heavy sad feeling.
