But sadly, corrupt priests exist, and they are like black laquer in a barrel full of white rice. Staining and spoiling all the contents When the SGI refers to "bad Priests", it's specifically referring to the Nichiren Shoshu sect of Priests who excommunicated the millions of Soka Gakkai members throughout the world. We believe in the Gosho of Nichiren Daishonin. In the Gosho it is clearly stated that all humans, without exception, wether they be uneducated or poor or even (gasp) female, have the potential to attain enlightenment As They Are. In This Lifetime.Without a priest as an intermediary. To truly practice this Buddhism correctly, we chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo to Reveal our Own enlightened nature. Not by paying alms to, or kowtowing to any authority figures.The Priests of Nichiren Shoshu insisted that they were superior. That is not what is written in the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin. So, thats why in the song, they say something like "no more priests". The song is actuallt pretty corny, I think! I went to some SGI meeting. The people there were nice people. So nothing personal but SGI sounded it is not an orthodox Buddhism. There too many contradictions with in SGI itself. So many things make no sense to non members.For example, I heard that SGI is doing everything the based on Gosho. And SGI's official view is NIchiren Daishonin is the true Buddha. Where I can find that in the Gosho? I have been studying for a quite long time more than the most of the people here. I have never seen Nichiren Daishonin stated that he was a true Buddha.
