    I had cancer as well. Although I don't think Buddhism miraculously delivered me from the disease, but what Buddhism did give me was a sense of incredible peace and confidence that everything will be alright, even in death.

      yes, Buddhism isn't about miracles, its about struggling, and overcoming to win....in face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

      tanvi galohda hmmm ok. I'm theravada Buddhist. We don't have a tradition of saying that. Wondered what it means. We meditate about law of cause and effect but it's different to this.

    There is nothing exactly like Buddhism. It is simply following the teachings of Tatha Gatha. His teachings usually try to cultivate our mind which is the ultimate aim of Human existence via rationale, scientific temperament, detachment, no preconceived notions.

      I’m too Khmer, Buddhism is my religion as well. Buddhism has existed and all around the world. Although it may seems strange or differs from one another but in the end all Buddhism are chanting to one holy Buddha. I’ve studied religions from all over the world when I was attending the University of California in San Diego. I came to realize that Buddhism is oldest religion that exists long before any other religion. Christians seems to envy the fact that Buddhism existed longer than Christianity. What most Christians doesn’t know was that Jesus travels to Nepal when he just a teenager. His parents and his close friend Thomas accompanied him to Nepal. The reason they traveled to Nepal because when Jesus was an adolescent he and his friends were terrorizing the neighborhood. Stealing and bullying other kids. Than the neighbors has had enough. They went to seek assistance from the Roman authorities. Jesus parents were afraid that the Roman authority might punish and execute them. They decided to escape to Nepal and also to India. While in Nepal, Jesus had received the teachings of Buddhism by the abbots at the temple. Jesus is now 30 years old and the spiritual teachings in the temple has taught Jesus and his friend Thomas to have compassions towards man and animals and natures. He than left Nepal to began teaching and spreading his wisdom on his journey back to Israel and the Middle East. Jesus has never claimed that he has the son of god, it was his disciples that spreads the words by adding more to then what Jesus wanted to be. Jesus has reached enlightenment just like the Buddha did. The Christian Bible was not written until 250 years after Jesus was crucified. Jesus did not died on the cross. He passed out when his body lost so much blood. His disciples took his body into the tomb. They revived Jesus with a mixture of Alcohol, olive oil and eucalyptus ointment. They wiped his blood with cloth and sneaks him out of Israel with Mary on the boat to France. They settled in France and had one son together. I learned this by reading the book of Thomas, who was the only person that travels to Nepal with Jesus. Thomas even build a temple or shrines in honor of Jesus. The temple was located 50 miles from Cairo Egypt. But later Jesus disciples condemned the temple and burned down the temple. Today there hardly any remaining sign of ruins left. This is according to what I read that was left in the museum that the curator of the museum in Egypt had showed me. The actual book or Bible was written in Sanskrit. Which is Buddhist literature. It was written or carved in an olive tree barks. Because papers wasn’t invented yet. I’m sure I’m going to get plenty of Christian scholars will disagree with what I’m telling you. But they don’t really want the truth to be revealed. Or some does want the truth for the world to know.The truth is much stranger then it already is.

    why does it sound and look like he's reading from something ?

    • @909fz1
      @909fz1 8 лет назад +3

      Im sure he was reading, but these are most likely his own words he is reading in preparing to share. Not everyone has the ability to be so polished infront of cameras What's important is im sure hes doing his best to open up about his personal life and share with others in hopes to inspire. Hes probably heard many other experiences in faith and now hes giving back.

    Do SGI Buddhists believe in 4 noble truths and noble eight-fold path?

    • @ecarter6457
      @ecarter6457 8 лет назад +4

      nayanmalig This is not a focus of our practice. Nichiren, as a 13th century priest, studied all the sutras of Shakyamuni, the teachings of Japanese & Chinese Buddhism, & all the commentaries. He came to understand Shakyamuni's Lotus Sutra, which states "I have not yet revealed the truth" as the highest teaching, and the teaching for the Latter Day of the Law (today) in the age of Mappo, which would continue for 10,000 years. Our focus is on chanting for self & others, understanding the concept of the oneness of life & it's environment--the greater our enlightened life condition, the greater the influence our spirit, actions, attitudes, etc have on our environment--family, society, & physical environment. Moreover, our immediate surroundings teach us the condition of our own life, encouraging self-reflection & determination to improve, and to appreciate the fortune we have. As we expand the circle of people in society striving in this manner, we transform our society. Our goal is Buddhahood, & peace.

    • @nayanmalig
      @nayanmalig 8 лет назад +1

      Elisabeth Carter That makes sense. However can you define - appreciate the fortune we have ?

    • @ecarter6457
      @ecarter6457 8 лет назад +2

      nayanmalig Hi sorry--Im not on this forum much. I believe what I was getting at is akin to being thankful for what we have, but adding in the ability to perceive value in everything, even if it is "only" a lesson...

    • @noynalinyazansanievongviva7401
      @noynalinyazansanievongviva7401 5 лет назад +1

      Well for buddha his name is siddhartha guatama and he is a teacher....also if you search up his birth place and the bodhi tree and the four noble truth it's way different from christ....
      Because with jesus there is no foundation or resources that leads to jesus.....no actual cross no fossil of his bones no coffin....
      And the teaching of jesus is blind d faith you have to believe or you will be punished to hell.......as you can see way different also a lot of scholars have came out and explain that jesus is a myth.
