- If you loved the Google Nest Hub, you'll love the Nest Hub MAX. It's bigger. It's better. IT'S MORE MAXER. It's the one I'd buy. (Which is good, since I just bought this one.) Seriously, though. That's, well, that's about it. It's better in most ways. The camera has a few cool tricks. It sounds louder, if a little muddy.

How's screen quality. Watch whole video twice but didn't find single comments on display quality. Is it better or same as 7 inch Google hub or lenova hub ???
There is a way to electronically turn off the camera only. Leaves the mic active. Swipe up from the bottom and tap the camera icon.

Can you use your fingers to zoom in on pics by squeezing your fingers together like on an iPad? We have the smaller one but it frustrates me regularly that I can't zoom in on a picture. If it could I might upgrade for that.

My wife is worried that something like this will know your every move. Can you talk about this? And I'm really looking for a DIY security system that self monitors. I watched your nest video but its really pricey. Thanks Brian

Same as everything else - it can show the camera feeds.
Maybe he meant more along the lines that it can also be a security camera, right? I was interested in seeing that as well.

@@Moderndad I assume it integrates into the Nest app? Does it require the Nest Aware subscription to save video? Does it record 24/7 like the Nest Hello?
Yep! All of that. ... This one's really gonna come down to preference. But I don't think it's a great option because it's not a particularly wide field of view, and it's easily moved, so it's very possible it won't see what you want it to. ... OTOH, it's very much going to depend on your situation, and where you put it. ... I'll have some more thoughts on that up on AndroidCentral.com today.

That's a good question. I'll have to see - none of us really uses Duo here.

What's it like using Assistant on an iPhone? Thinking about switching to one but like and use the integration between phone and Google Home hub for calendar and reminders frequently.

You forgot to say that the mute switch (quoting google) disconnects the power to the camera and microphone rather then disabling it in software
Can you add an RTSP stream from a Ubiquiti Product such as Protect?
I have the Lenevo 10" and JBL 8". Lenevo is lacking in sound. JBL sound is amazing but lacks in screen size. Hub Max is a perfect combo of the two. I will probaby get one but waiting for the price to go down at least $50 in November 2019.
I'm definitely getting this to replace our 8" Lenovo in the kitchen, but I'll wait til Black Friday when it'll be $199 and come with a free Mini.

How does it sound compared to the original Nest hub? Currently I run an original Google home for music in the kitchen paired with an original hub.

Will it use 3rd party apps? Specifically Plex? I saw Spotify, but don’t know if they’re a special app partner.
I can cast Plex to the Google home hub so it should work with the max as well
Right. Spotify is an Assistant integration.

I mean this is a great product with bad branding but it felt you really didn't like this product and are simply reviewing it for the sake of reviewing.

Waiting until Black Friday where it will be at least 50 dollars off. Possibly waiting longer if it can't play Netflix by then. (I realize this is a Netflix issue, not a Google one.)

Does it have hand gestures? In case you aren't fast enough to need to use your voice, but really close and don't want to use your fingers?
really not a fan of fabric on these things, i wouldn't mind as much if it could be removed but it can't. this is particularly bad in places like a kitchen where smells in the air and mucky hands will result in a stinky greasy device that you can't do anything about (apart from being encouraged to replace it entirely)
Yeah, that's been a thing in the past. (And my white Sonos One has some gunk in the grille, too.)
