I agree, the idea was reused. But compared with old rollercoaster - the flight was much more smoother and the stability/quality of video(4k stability) much much better. But the balls to pull off that dive wow. All he could do is crash into ground between rails. There is no way he could have pulled out of it. Even with power the turbulence with the prop wash would have made damn impossible to slow down, and get out.
@@situbes.972 The roller coaster chase footage was not very good. Nowhere near what we've seen from others. The Vanover flight as the coaster was absolutely epic though. But regardless, my point is that it's not the flight that makes rotor riot great. Or made rotor riot. It's the interactions of the pilots. It's the giving Vanover a hard time, it's laughing as a group of guys having fun. It's the discussions and trash talk about the dive more than the dive itself.

@Filip Radelic commercial pilot here, don't particularly like DJI. they are like apple in that they remove features intentionally to force customers to higher price points and are avidly against right to repair. just my 2 cents not saying there's anything wrong with the actual products. It's been happening with commercial drones for years and they'll do it with FPV if you waitong enough.

@@JoshuaBardwell Definitely an impressive attempt with multiple quads. Tommy did it with the best quad he had at hand, in Chernobyl, from at least twice as high, AND he didn't crash at the end. None of this "let me practice nine times, I don't want to break my personal drone" fluffiness. It was a lot of fun to watch this, but not throne worthy. Oh, and Tommy was flying a 6".
@@IanBible this is way harder, the dive is like 3 times tighter and its curved. you dont really need to practice the duga dive the same way alex practiced the curve since you go down the duga the same way you would go down any smokestack or other dive. the rollercoaster is unique in that way so it had to be practiced atleast a couple of times to even have a reasonable chance. the ride ("skycoaster") is 75 meters high, duga is 100m. the duga had an easy exit and an entry but on this ride required you to come from the side and split-s into it, making it even more harder not to mention the metal bracing that make up the dive shaft is connected to the ground making it extremely hard to level out and exit the shaft. even though he crashed at the end i still think alex has earned the title of king of dives for the time being. diving tight stuff with a 6 inch is harder than with a 5 inch but this dive was still way tighter than the duga even when you take into account the size difference. also i think "oh he practiced it" isnt a valid argument. the title "king of dives" should belong to the person who has pulled out the most difficult dive, not to the person who can pull out a sick dive in the least amount of tries.

I understand that sound editing is a hard and painstakingly time consuming part of the editing and I can understand the value of it, that it gives the video. Since I am more into the flying and real sounds though, I have to say that I hate muting the video and starting my own music playlist for montage videos. There might have been a slightly bent prop that caused a lot of noise, but taking all the drone noise out is something I really can't find any enjoyment in watching the footage. I still love how you can get such amazing footage with a relative small drone without any camera gimbal technique. Obviously the flying skill is remarkable and I love watching these kind of videos. It's still unfortunate, that I can't enjoy raw or at least dimmed drone sounds :)
Honestly one of the best videos I've seen on this channel in a very very long time. The colors,content, B-roll.. everything just 1st rate and fun.. DJI will probably release a 4k air unit recorder and camera next year to catch up with GoPro recording. Both of those frames are tough as nails
Vanover is the chosen one. You cannot stop him you can only hope to learn from him. Women will want him & men will want to be him. Btw- can I have a free quad

I run 2 399 super g frames for filming/freestyle and they are amazing!!! Hands down the best most simplistic and durable frame you can get!!
