Hooked up new electric terminals. Starts great now. Before the issue was also a fuel pump replacement.

sodakproud what terminals where? My brother has a 76 with weak spark issue. Can't figure it out. Thanks for your time.

Pitbull Farmer We just replaced the battery connections to new ones by cutting the old corroded ends and installing ones you'd get a Napa If you're getting really weak spark and cranking I'd check out your grounding cable and make sure that's well connected.

360 cam gears are plastic! Get a wiring diagram. Use a test light for shorts. There's a neutral switch. See if it starts in drive. The transmission linkage could be misadjusted. Remove fuses to check blown fuses. There's a starter relay. Check a diagram.

I have a 77 Dodge w200 and there is a little three prong device under the dash mine's to the left of the wheel but behind the dash a three-prong plug in that affects your fuel gauge and will not start for some reason without it, but its a 3 prong plug that plugs into a motherboard behind the dash

Pull the fuel desending unit sounds like rust holes in line and your air bound. Bubbles in clear gas filter when running. MINE would stall up hills.........

I have a 1978 B300. So far I've had the park sensor issue, solved by putting the van in neutral and it starts. Today Van wouldn't start. I had fiddled around with the positive battery terminal 2 days earlier and that was the issue, a loose connection. I have one of those positive clamps where the battery cables actually bolt onto the battery terminal clamp, kind of a shady setup. I'm going to order a new battery cable.

question ? i have a 1977 mb300 , was told the carb needed cleaning but it would start and chug, well i put my battery from my Dakota in it and the only thing that halfway works is the emergency flashers being driver side is dim and passenger side is normal, other than that there is no electrical power , no lights no horn no interior nothing like a dead fish in the water. i test lighted it and the chassis is grounded, positive is good to the starter that's where i connected the test light lead. any thoughts would be appreciated

Ballast resistor.A ceramic block on the firewall with 4 wires. 2 on each side. if it is damp You will not start. If it gets moisture when it is hot it will blow. You should carry a spare. It should be directly behind Your oil filler tube high on the firewall if I remember right. I junked My '77 in '92 after 25 years and 500,000 miles.

This happened to my 77 minnie Winnie. Found out it wasn’t fully in park... needed to be put in neutral and fired up. Unless it is in fact an electrical issue. Hopefully not

  • @sodakproud

I hooked up after a it sat for 2 weeks and it started up just fine. I'm guessing a loose connection or starter error.

sodakproud - I don't have a 77 Dodge it is a voltage limiter under the dash three prong mines almost rectangle shape

I replaced my fuel pump too and still didn't get gas. I checked 3 friends with an older dodge and they had All changed to an electric pump so I did too. Check filter or carb to be sure your getting gas FIRST, don't count on the new fuel pump working....

I have the same motorhome and mine just stopped cranking all together just a second ago. Not sure what's going on.. we are now leaking oil.. I'm at a loss. If it's the starter.. than that's not the only thing that's wrong

You need a mechanic shop to look it over.

  • @skcamper1866

It is sad when you have to full screen videos due to blinking annoying ads on the right side of the page. The flashing and blinking freaks my brain out. Take the thing to a mechanic and let them run a diagnostic on it. Then you will know the problem without them charging you for new parts you don't need. This was 2 yrs ago so maybe you don't have it anymore.
