We had a tree take out our power a couple of weeks ago and were without power for just shy of 24 hours. Idk how many times I thought of Bluetti in that one day. Definitely would have allowed me to work and be more comfortable overall!
I am looking forward to the final build tour of this project today! I have a Subaru and I never thought I would need a build, but I can see how effective and efficient this would be to have for even short camping trips. I think the Blue Etti would be nice to have and you are so right that having it for power outages in the apartment is SOO great. Power outages happen and it's nice to still have power. (electric blankets powered up in the winter keeps you quite cozy!). Terra looks so cute and happy and so do you, I think this new phase of She Roams Wild is gonna be awesome! 🥰 I like how you quickly can set up to do building tasks as well, very efficient!
Alexandria, I love this video. Being on a camping trip in Germany in my litte VW I especially liked the simplicity of your design. Way to go. You got ALL of this!
Hi Alex, great video once again. Your voice over in the Bluetti portion was hilarious. It looked like a foreign film with dubbed english. It was awesome!!!! Terra looks really happy, rolling around. Take care.
haha it was so silly! I felt ridiculous, but it was too late to go back and re-record, so I appreciate everyone's grace! Regarding Terra - she is having a blast, and I am so grateful we were able to get out even for a short while :)
As a lover of subaru outbacks and car life in general, I can't wait to watch you crush this project! Will be watching the full video on my morning walk tommorow 😁
Thank you so much!! I absolutely loved my first car (an 06 outback) and am so stoked to be getting back to my roots. There are so many 'fancy' things in the car that I am not used to, but some of the upgrades have been really nice!
we really were! I am so excited to get back out into nature again on a more regular basis...and it has only been a few weeks! Thank you so much for your support, as always
Alex great to see you with new less complicated build in new car, like everyone it was funny you having to overdub with your voice!😆 Always the perfectionist even with something simple. 🤩 Do you ever have people approaching you at Lowe's while you are busy with tools etc? Terra looks happy when out on any adventure! 🐶💜
You may already know this but make sure you put a carabiner or something to trigger the tailgate latch so your car battery doesn’t drain when it’s open.
I still love watching your journeys and am happy to be a Patron! Throughout the years I’ve been seeing nomad influencers work on projects in Lowe’s and Home Depot parking lots. I was wondering if you had to get special permissions or anything to work in the parking lot, or do they really not care? Living in an apartment sucks for projects and if I could complete my camper build there that would be great! Thanks again for your videos Alex! I hope to meet you if you come back to OR!
Hey Alex, you always do awesome work on any projects that you do, look what you're doing Subaru Outback camper thanks for sharing with me, I can't wait until you finish it
@@SheRoamsWild That's exactly what I was getting also on my gas mileage, half of what I get now. Not to mention the heavy duty wear and tear on the truck.
Heck yeah! As someone who has owned both (I had an '06 Outback before my first Van), I always missed something about the smaller and more capable vehicle, and am so excited to be back in one!
Love what you are doing with the Subie! Can’t wait for the tour. And of course. The next camp trip. Great job and another great video. So proud of you. Can you refresh my memory? What are you majoring in?!
Thank you!! We are SO excite to get back out 'on the road' even for a short while in the coming weeks :) regarding my degree - I am getting my masters in outdoor rec economy, specializing in sustainable businesses and DEI (think: Patagonia, B Corporations, etc!)
Hi Alex, I'm actually going to be doing the same to my 2020 outback over the next month. I was curious if you have any more info on the materials and dimensions for this project? Or if you just measured and built as you went? Thanks!
I'm a loyal Subaru owner and I think it's got really good off-road capabilities (given its lower ground clearance and more street-type tires). Maybe I missed your comment regarding this, but it looks like you will have a lot of stuff in the cargo area when you are out camping. Are you concerned about accessing the spare tire and the jack tools which currently reside under that cargo mat/board in the back? Especially if you have a flat during a rain event - then all that stuff and the wooden shelf will have to come out and get wet in order to get to the tire and jack. Could you relocate the jack and tools inside the passenger area and secure the spare to the roof during your camping expeditions?
When I sold the camper, the buyer realllllly wanted the truck! So since I wasnt going to have the truck, I needed to sell the topper - it went to a good new home :)
Oh heck yeah! You should also check out "solid wood worx" on RUclips, they have some stunning 4Runner build outs! These tiles were from Lowe's, and cost about $20 to cover the entire platform :)
@@SheRoamsWild thanks for the info! I will check them out for sure but I am also excited to see what your final build looks like too. You have no idea how close I was to getting a Tundra and building out a truck camper 😂
When I sold the camper, the person purchasing it realllllly wanted the truck. While it wasnt my original plan, they truly were made for each other, so I decided to sell them as a package and get a slightly newer vehicle to help with maintenance costs and parking in a city :)
This BLUETTI is the AC240, and it took about 1.7 hours to charge up from 0! In the past when I had more powerful outlets, it only took 1.4-5 hours :) So fast!!
I wonder how much you get paid for a 15 minute Battery commercial, I'm guessing not nearly as much as if it were a TV commercial. Sad that half your vlog this time was the commercial. Yet I'm still here.
She talked about the Bluetti for 2 minutes. If you saw a 7 minute commercial, it's because you wanted to see a 7 minute commercial. I'm building ouy my minivan using my jackery and pecron batteries so she's showing her real progress, plus portable batteries are great to have. Passive aggressive comments like yours is why a lot of RUclipsrs no longer read or respond to their comment section.
Really? I’ve been watching her videos for quite some time. She has been pretty straightforward with what she wants. Some things change as opportunities present themselves. Like how the sell of her truck came about , therefore, her decision to sell the truck topper. She is going to college, hence why she’s now in an apartment, and she still wants to camp and create content. 🤷🏻♀️ seems like you missed something?! Maybe.

Ready for you to get back to camping. Just got back from Grand Lake.
Us too! So excited to get back out into the woods soon :)
You've become a Coloradan. The Subaru Outback one of the most popular cars in Colorado. ;-)
haha you're not wrong! a 2006 outback was my first car, and I have missed it ever since..so happy to be back in one!
Outbacks are one of the most popular cars in many places
Looking good. I recently swapped my truck camper in for a Subaru Outback also. Quicker, easier and cheaper trips.
heck yeah! it has been such a treat only spending $50 on gas and it lasting >450 miles! Can't believe I was getting HALF the gas mileage before...

Beautiful work ❤ much love to you and Tara
Sweet & simple build for sure!

What happened to the truck shell? What are you doing with that? Do you still have a truck?

Wait what? You can just build in Lowe’s parking lot? Genius
I was wondering about this too. It's especially helpful if you forget something you need because you can just walk right back into the store.
