You have to floss very gently as the video suggests. It is correct. But take your time and slowly ease the food out that’s stuck in there. The reason you go above the gum line and then slowly see saw backwards and forwards is to catch the food under the gum line . If you fail to get this it will ROT under your gum line and create a cavity INSIDE the tooth. This is where you have healthy tooth structure outside and the inside has a black hole in it that you can only see on an X-ray.

One teaspoon of coconut oil 1st thing in morning , swish for 10 mins , spit in bin , rinse , spit n rinse again , overnight toxins gone n receding gums will get better after a few weeks..
Floss gently , especially side walls of teeth as that's where food is stuck n a tootbrush doesn't always get..
I use a manual soft bristle Colgate toothbrush with a tongue scraper on the back , this way you are gently cleaning the wall n sides of mouth too, then scrape gently the tongue.. my teeth stay cleaner through out the day more with manual than an elec one I find.
Use Therabreath swish n gargle (no morning breath) n Sensodyne repair toothpaste , they imo are the best...
Carry sugar free gum if out n about after eating..
Haven't had work done on my teeth for 26 years (since braces ) even though I go to 6 monthly checks to the dentist..

I started flossing like this cause I saw it was the proper way from another video, but my teeth did not get used to it, they just bled until eventually I got a bad infection from pushing food too far into my gum from the technique. I stopped flossing like that for months but recently did it again, and woke up with a swollen part of my gums and stopped again. I think you’re honestly not meant to go this deep, it’s caused me so many issues but I kept going thinking it was better for my oral health.

You probably went too deep. You don’t wanna push it into your gums. It should just slide in between. If you floss for the first time in a while then the next morning it will be swollen and inflamed. After a few days of flossing everyday, the bleeding and swelling will stop.

Perio is no joke, dental work such as fillings or crowns are generally preventable with good oral hygiene practices, especially flossing. It sucks at first but the pain and bleeding does go away faster than you’d expect.
I don’t mean to fear monger, it’s just something not a lot of people know about until it’s too late in my experience and I think if more people are aware they can take preventative action.

Never flossing is no different than never brushing one side of your teeth. Bacteria make something called "biofilm" which is basically a "house" the bacteria builds for itself. It's a protective barrier the bacteria literally builds and hides under. Flossing breaks up this biofilm. If you never floss, you're giving bacteria free reign on the parts of your teeth that are between the teeth and under gums.
This is the reason your gums bleed when you floss. All the bacteria that's been allowed to fester under your gums and between your teeth is causing your gums to be in a constant state of inflammation. If you floss for a while then you ruin the ability for bacteria to gain a foothold in these areas. As well as removing any food that may be stuck.
