Nice bit of progress on the sill repairs.
The fire blanket plays havoc on bare flesh and will itch like hell.

There were more perforations than a Tetley tea bag on some of that metalwork you've cut out! Keep up the good work and I hope the Disco is soon mobile again. 🙂

You are making great progress there Richard, in between all the rain and everything else.

Good progress Richard ! - some nice fabrication there - it looked hot ! - think it was the same weekend I chose to extract and start to weld in the new rear cross member of my Range Rover Classic - wouldn't have even attempted it without your down to earth guidance and advice - Thanks !!!

I had an M reg TDi Disco in the same colour, absolutely loved the thing. Genuinely a vehicle for all purposes and returned 30mpg all the time. I got rid when the rust came through, it was relentless, started going everywhere, even in the roof and I don't have any welding/ metalwork skills like you do. Good luck with it, it'll serve you well!

Originally the outer wing would be bolted to the outer sill at the bottom with two M6 bolts, guessing that part of the outer wing is no longer in existence! I did my own 300tdi 3 door so this is bringing back memories! It’ll be lovely when it’s done! Keep up the good work

The lower edges of the outer wing have dissolved. I will get creating and hold them in place maybe using the plastic outer sill trim

Seems like an awful lot of work when with a bit of fibre glass and filler, and maybe some screwed up newspaper, the job would be a "good un". 😀
