There is a Core Engie build that can literally 2v1 but no one plays it so that's why we have bottom tier Core Engies. Also, any AoE spec is a carry spec as long as they know how to position themselves and not to spam their AoEs into defensive cooldowns. This is because AoEs rule conquest. Deathmatch is a different story.
I’d say I actually agree with this entire list, but I’d actually put willbender in B tier. For me it’s level with holosmith because of the built in mobility, it’s ultimate, and being able to precast an 8k burst and teleport in on a vulnerable enemy. Also good at cleaving a group of downs your team is about to let rally. Aside from that- my untamed handles condi quite well. Still can’t carry a terrible comp though. Great video! I especially loved seeing mech so low- it’s should be in a “trolls new players” tier. 😂

I play gw for a long time but just started getting into pvp and i have a question: id love to play as Core guardian support, what do you do when there is more then 1 support on your team ? :/ also i think there should be a New patch comming on the 3rd of january, can you make a updated list then ? I don't think I've ever seen a meta like this where there's so much variety possible that it's hard for specific builds or classes to clearly stand above all the rest. I think this is a good thing? But it also feels strangely unrewarding to play, not sure why. Maybe it's just the terrible population issues that I'm struggling with.

@@Shadowfall_TV yeah, I haven't played since the expansions, so it's been years. I've been playing ESO on console because my PC took a dump and I never replaced it. So I finally decided to install GW2 onto a laptop just to check it out, because I did have a lot of fun with this game. I'm going to get a gaming laptop to put it on soon and I'm planning on getting back into it. I'm just messing around with PvE stuff at the moment trying to relearn not only the classes but playing with MnK again. I'll probably stick with my thief and necro for PvP, maybe the guardian here and there. But I'll wait until I get the better computer to hop into that. For now, I'll just practice with relearning the classes and everything. Appreciate the response!
Hey Max! Willbender lost an F2 charge which reduced its mobility, condi clear, evasion, and healing. It also received some nerfs to offhand sword damage. Hope that helps! Thanks for the support :D
Hey Matthew! DH can kill more frequently than Soulbeast and the traps can apply a lot of pressure on the node. Power soulbeast relies heavily on its elite skill "One Wolf Pack" to generate a down or two. While on cooldown, soulbeast's effectiveness lowers significantly.

I asked because I play both and generally have more success with soulbeast, especially with running owl as second pet you can zip about the map really quickly +1 and down someone almost instantly, move on to next node and do the same, DH is really slow but great at defending points, but I felt soulbeast was stronger plus you can unmerge and let your pet do some work while kiting etc, I'll trust your judgement though I'm merely gold lol, thanks a lot for the reply really appreciate it, keep up the great work! oh and I absolutely LOVE your nice quick guides they are incredibly helpful, some longer more in depth guides would be awesome as well, cheers :)
i think the tier list is correct power wise but gw2 pvp is a team game and team composition makes a difference. what I wanna say is if you are wanting to rank up, you need to be ready to swap chars and specs. your team is full of dps and no support? swap to support. but which support? well is enemy damage mostly ranged or melee... you get what I want to say. best way to rank up is LISTEN to the reasons blindside gives for certain specs, don't just blindly follow the this is S tier this is good mentality. always try to complete your team comp. no reflects and enemy has a soul beast and a deadeye? gg.

Hey Grummpee! Defense hammer spellbreaker is a good teamfighter but it doesn't have the 1vX potential of strength spellbreaker. Personally, I would rate defense spellbreaker at high C for general solo quing purposes.

It maybe feels bad but its not that much, I bought expansions like 1 month ago and when I did my new thief specs were not performing any better, when I learned how to play thief better I perform on core build just as good.
At the end of the day it's all about player skill, your knowledge about all the other builds and how you read the battlefield. Lets take Mechanic f.e......ye hes easy to play and allegedly get countered past gold but if you know all the other builds and how they work you only search the fights where you dont get perma countered, means it makes a difference who plays him. A bad player would stick to the fight even if he dont do damage, a good player would simply leave the unfavored fight and look for other stuff to do (cap another point, bait a 1v1, do objectives, etc....). So every build can be a S-Tier as well as F-Tier, depends who plays him......in pro tournaments with premade teams, where every player plays GW2 PVP 24/7, this tierlist probably matters but in solo queue PVP mostly not. ;) But it doesen't mean that I don't love tierlists......always looking forward for nice ones like this one and tbh I also catch myself sticking to them quite often. :D
That's a common misconception. Each division across both regions are very similar in terms of skill. The population on EU may be higher, or it may seem that way if more players play in the same timezones.

i think this is actually one of the worst metas we've had so far. im usually not this negative. currently in g2 with willbender cause i can't stand the way anything else plays atm. catalyst and tempest are out of control with dragon's tooth spam. dragon's tooth imposes a skill check on every team member essentially, and if you have one single newbish player it's gg. extremely uneven matches over all.

have at least two specs you can do well. You can always change to another class during the 90 seconds before the game starts

I wanna try Untamed, BS, Willbender and Vindicator. I currently play a trapper druid, and it is pretty much what you said. It is very team dependant.

I feel pretty useless as Vindicator in pvp. To much running, very squisy and damage is OK. Meanwhile on Harbringer i feel OP
