    As a Chrono main, I can say I struggled a bit in my first month mastering it but as time went by, it got easier for me. The only thing that a player must always put in mind when playing Mesmer is to know right timing of burst, how you surprise your enemies and using continuum split in a strategic manner. Just some of the ingredients in how Chronomancer can be very effective and can indeed hard carry at times when facing burst opponents.

      true. As a power chrono, The moment i learned the one hit combo, everything went easy for me. Plus the fact that you can just blink away everytime you get jumped on with additional stun break makes it much easier. Havent tried chronobunker yet, but I bet its much easier since it has alac and stab boons

    I’t seems like the main benchmark for this list was amount of skills and mechanics available to a class while completely ignoring the role certain specs should fulfill. I think it's easier to play a DPS deadeye than a roamer daredevil, you have to keep track of so many different scenarios to roam properly and it takes a lot of thinking to decide when to engage in a fight, when to do 1v1, when to disengage, when to full cap etc

    • @Scarletcurryy
      @Scarletcurryy Год назад +2

      what you said is that all agile roamer should do,and usually not that hard cuz there is always at least 1 node the enemy ignores,decap freely is always valuable.Because you can move very fast,your rotation is much more forgiving than those slow specs

    why is untamed the hardest? you don't go into a lot of detail... in your pvp guide you only list like one combo that's hard to remember/input

    • @Shadowfall_TV
      @Shadowfall_TV  Год назад +4

      Hey Michael! I'm copying in pasting this from another comment. (I didn't go overly detailed for each build because I didn't want to confuse new players with terminology they may not understand).
      I can explain:
      1. Untamed has 10 F skills. F1-F5 all flip and have different effects. Untamed also has 2 extra keybinds at F6 and F7 which no other class has.
      2. To play it at a high level, you need to micromanage your pet skills (not have them on autocast). Which means you are manually controlling every skill your pet uses on top of managing its health and positioning in fights, cancelling skills you don't want it to use, and unleashing pet/player depending on the situation to take advantage of the flip skills, ambush skills, and various buffs.
      3. Both hammer and lb/gs untamed rely almost entirely on single hit skills. And, in a meta with a significant amount of blinds and projectile denial (for longbow) from eles, and virtuosos/well chronos having significant amount of aegis, you need to be precise about when you use certain skills and diligent about stripping certain debuffs on you/buffs on the enemy or you'll find that you wind up dealing no damage or having trouble landing skills that you need to survive.
      4. Untamed is the worse ranger spec to play into conditions by far because it uses pet swap as part of the burst. So, you don't have pet swap to save the pet if it gets condi bombed. If there are any condi specs on the enemy team, it becomes 10x harder to play untamed when they're in the fight and if you're not careful, your pet will die and you'll have a significant amount of your traits disabled (aka. lower damage, survivability, and utility for the next minute unless you can break combat without pet swapping).
      5. etc.
      There are more, and I could go on for a while, but these are a few of the reasons why untamed specifically is the hardest spec to play in PvP.
      Hope that answers your question! Thanks for the support :)

    • @Shadowfall_TV
      @Shadowfall_TV  Год назад +4

      Hey Keats! I can explain:
      1. Untamed has 10 F skills. F1-F5 all flip and have different effects. Untamed also has 2 extra keybinds at F6 and F7 which no other class has.
      2. To play it at a high level, you need to micromanage your pet skills (not have them on autocast). 5. etc.
      Engineer has a lot of buttons but its fairly ping friendly because a lot of the damage comes from low cooldown spam (nades, powerful autoattack damage in photon forge, sword, mortars, etc.), access to a lot of skills so you'll almost always have something to rotate through, extremely powerful attacks/traits like corona burst (hits twice, 18 stacks of vuln in an aoe + might) and lock on being the strongest thing you can take vs. stealth classes. Kit skills being unable to stow (with stow keybind) and instead having to leave the kit to cancel animations also means that while it's more difficult to play, the floor is also lower since new players aren't going to know about or utilize this technique in combat.
      There are more, and I could go on for a while, but these are a few of the reasons why untamed specifically is harder to play than engineer.
      Also, make sure you listen to the explanations for the placements. I say difficulty-wise, scrapper and holosmith both go in MEDIUM difficulty. However, ping friendly specs are not indicative of how easy or hard a spec is to play. Ping friendly specs do not need to rely heavily on precisely timing certain skills to kill their opponents. Any build where the kill pressure is focused around autoattacks or spamming AoEs tend to be ping friendly because they don't have cooldowns or are concentrated around applying constant AoE pressure.
      Hope that answers your question! Thanks for the support :)

    I personally felt Daredevil was harder to play than Soulbeast. But then again it could just be that i play Soulbeast in pve so im more used to the mechanics. But when i tried Daredevil in pvp i could not stay alive whatsoever. Idk how people manage stealth so well

    • @CrAzYBG96
      @CrAzYBG96 Год назад +4

      You have to adapt your mindset to a in-and-out type of combat, you want to go in do some quick dmg and get out. This way you bait cooldowns/evades and also make yourself hard to hit. Keep in mind that as a thief you decide when to fight and when to leave so make sure you don't go in unfavorable fights. Steal is your most important skill to land, make sure you're unpredictable with it. Keep in mind it also boonstrips and interrupts so using it to steal boons or interrupt heals is a good idea. Also knowing what you're up against is really beneficial and will dictate your playstyle. But the more difficult part of thief is actually knowing how to rotate. Watch streamers (e.g. Sindrener) play, practice and you will get the hang of it! Hope this helps :)

      @CrAzYBG96 while not OP, thank you for this info. I've been greatly struggling with Thief but really want to play the class. Have been feeling really shitty about how much I'm sucking at it but your points really highlight I'm likely not playing thief right.

    • @madhatten5123
      @madhatten5123 11 месяцев назад

      I struggle on Daredevil as well and thief in general and it all comes down to movement and not being using stealth efficiently. I actually find it much easier to play Willbender then any thief spec, the burst combos are much more straight forward the 3 virtue movement skills are on a fast cool down and the sustain is decent. You are super squishy if you get caught without cooldowns but I find it much easier to play.

    I think you've sandbagged Tempest, its harder than cata and weaver. Its a support that has team mitigaion in reflects, melee stun auras, and clenses. Not only are you often primary target, you also have to watch team mates and use the multiple differing mechanics across varied situations to give them the best chance to survive (while you are also under attacked). Cata and weaver do have more complicated mechaincs in how they apply dps, but they are easier in the long run. For example, Cata can ''run away'' if he thinks he is starting to lose a fight. A support cannot run away for his own survival, or his least mobile dps will die. This makes for some very difficult choice on support, that dps just don't have to contend with. Furthermore, Tempest is also expected to know when to do damage. Its genuinely easier to play as any of those medium level DPS than tempest. I would even say support gaurdian is higher up, like medium. Its not as hard as tempest, thanks to its higher natural mitigation, but again, it has to survive+keep team alive, and do dps when needed, you do everything a DPS does, while also contantly giving support utility. I would highly reccomend spending time playing support though, becuase it will make you learn the difficulties of what they have to do, so that when you play dps, you will much better understand how to protect and get the most out of your support.

    • @BigDaddySlug
      @BigDaddySlug Год назад

      I think your talking about macro managing the game as a support more than talking about the class itself . Saying tempest is a hard class to play because support is a hard role to play has nothing to do with the class itself. If we're talking about tempest support if you were to play a support class tempest would require very little thought the class itself. macroing the game would require better understanding of positioning which has nothing to do with the class.

      Hello Paul,
      I will address your concerns.
      First, for clarity, you have made several assumptions that are incorrect, and are also under a common misconception. I have solo queued on multiple classes to 1750+ and rank 2 many times on NA during both the solo and duo ranked seasons. I have also played on EU with 120-140-ish ping and reached high ratings on several classes for fun.
      In addition, I have played with and against all the top players on NA in tournaments and most of the top players on EU as well, with some exceptions. I qualified for and competed in the first Masters of the Arena tournament and scrimmed on multiple classes on every role. I have also won several 1v1 tournaments against top duelists and players on NA and have both beaten and lost to every top player on NA at some point in ranked.
      You mentioned that "I am mostly Plat 1 when I stream, which is like Gold 3 in EU standards." There is a misconception that players on NA are not as skilled as the players on EU. This is not true. Top players on NA are just as skilled as the top players on EU. However, it is actually harder to achieve higher ratings/divisions on NA because there is less rating to go around. Meanwhile, there is a higher concentration of Plat players queuing at the same time on EU, which makes it easier to climb. Therefore, the top of Plat on NA is equivalent to Legend on EU.
      Regarding my tierlists, they are specifically for ranked PvP. Most other tierlists are for competitive play, which is different because a coordinated setting is vastly different from ranked. In ranked, all-rounders and builds that can push and continue snowballs are generally the best for carrying on. In competitive, classes or specs that specialize and excel in a particular role will do better when you don't have to flex and make up for the mistakes of your teammates.
      Lastly, I stream hundreds of ranked games over the course of every season to teach people PvP. If I wanted to end at the highest ratings, I would play off-stream in a duo at strange hours, hide my rating, and sit on it until the last day. However, I don't take the ladder seriously (not many people do) and I choose to stream my ranked games on multiple builds on every class/spec that's viable in ranked to teach people PvP.
      I hope this clarifies any misconceptions and answers your questions. Thank you for your interest.
