I find it kinda nice that his depression isn't completely broody, has overwhelming emotions, and it led to him struggling with what I can only say as people pleasing. While the ragbros and kamisatos have different ways of dealing with depression after their parents died, its kinda on the low end of emotional. The kamisatos couldn't truly grieve (at least that's how I take it), diluc became cold and closed off, and kaeya hides it behind a facade. Truly shows that depression always can look different based on how a person takes it.

You can tell easier that he's struggling with his emotions versus kaeya who pretty much seems to suppress them (with exception to what diona said to us when starting the tcg quest stuff, that's probably the only thing I've heard about kaeya having negative emotions
I mean both brothers are rich bitches even after their parents death and they were more rich after death prolly. But kaveh is opposite, he got poorer as time progresses
@@destinymartinez0524 through voice lines, teapot lines, and past events etc, its implied kaeya struggles a lot with with extreme loneliness which explains his frequent drinking. and he sometimes finds himself at the dawn winery after solitary walks but cant bring himself to actually knock/go inside. its so sad thinking about how his fallout with diluc affected him. this could possibly be the reason he struggles with honesty. that one time he was truly honest with his idenity, the last person he could call true family rejected him for it (Diluc).

It’s not like that though. Kaveh wanted his mother to be happy so he reassured her that he was doing fine, it’s not as though she left him knowing he needed her. There’s nuance there.

Kaveh’s mother didn’t just ditch him one day she asked if he was going to be okay and waited for him to agree and say that it was okay for her to remarry in Fontaine and leave. She loves Kaveh a lot, and Kaveh always refused to wear a sad, lonely, or disappointed face around her so how would she know he was feeling this way?
To be clear, I’m not blaming Kaveh at all. The best thing about his story is that there’s no villain, they were all victims to circumstance. Kaveh and his mother only had eachother and were very close, it was just a lack of communication, not some malicious intent from his mother’s end.
@@lynnraven6101 yeah i didn't knew when exactly she left him as i read the lore i found out he was already in ksharewar when his mother left him for fontaine to attain some peace of mind so he was indeed old to live alone already however her leaving was bad for kaveh but yeah he is a good son and prbly we have a character connected to fontaine at least
@@starlight14673 Don’t worry I understand! Yeah, her leaving was bad for him but she didn’t know it would be. She’s not a bad mother, there should have been more communication between them, but Kaveh was too caught up in his guilt sadly. It’s just a really unfortunate situation, I was just saying I don’t think what we should take away from it is that it’s his mother’s fault, because it isn’t :’)
if you have finished the extra story with dori after the parade event, you can see that upon learning that the crown was broken, dori was furious that she intended to increase the interest of kaveh's debt

Imma admit i thought she had some saving grace bc the first time the palace broke down i heard she actually tried to dissuade kaveh from rebuilding it so i thought "Well, ok, the debt she put him in afterwards is just fair play in business i guess" but after this quest i was like wtf hasn't he gone through enough. I wish there was an option to scold her afterwards

Yeah, Kaveh is one of the realest characters thus far, and I for example also struggle from so many of the same problems as he does. His background and struggles are tough in such a down-to-earth way that it makes your stomach churn in a whole different way than the tragic backstories that you very rarely if ever encounter irl
I started the post-event mission with Dori mashing through dialouge, but i had to slow down when i realized it had lore for his dad. He is very lucky he didn't wear that crown.

@ZKS it goes into the history of the Diadem, more specifically an event that happened 20 years ago that coincides with the timing of Kaveh's father disappearing. It started with the Diadem going missing, it had gone missing and we now know the Aranara hid the diadem because it was dangerous.
Later, it was found again and the person who wore it had their personality changed. We then read a journal written by Sachin, which is thick with Nihalistic thinking described in the voice acted quest. Returning to Aru village, we learn 20 years ago someone arrived to make life better for them, provided money, medicine, food, protection from Wenuts, etc. It is mentioned this man lost his life saving a caravan from quicksand, but failed to save himself.
Kaveh (with Alhaithem's help) then puts the puzzle pieces together as to why his father disappeared 20 years ago. He wore the crown, and was overcome by Sachin's influence.
The quest then ends with Alhaitham concluding someone will eventually pick up the same line of research and reach the same conclusions, and Kaveh optimistically saying the results may not be the same.

Originally I thought Cyno's backstory was dark and although we don't know much still, Cyno still surprised me as being a kinda normal dude aside from the spirit vessel contract thing (same with Alhaitham)
I did not expect Kaveh's to be the opposite in being like super tragic.

I had just installed genshin and i was wishing because well. I wanted new characters and i got kaveh. I was still in mondstadt. I never thought about him until i came across a different video like this. And now he is my favourite character. I started two months ago. Im in inazuma and cannot wait to unlock Kavehs story quest
