In Sumeru City, the “Light of Kshahrewar” is a famous name that has stuck to many scholars in the Akademiya. Rightfully so, it’s a reminder of the hardwork and determination that has become a stuff of dreams among the students. Dubbed to a renowned architect in the region, this individual has steadily climbed among his peers to reach to the top. His name is Kaveh, an alumni of Ksharewar Darshan, currently working as a designer and is considered by many as the best architect to ever exist in the industry.

some interesting info that’s missing from this video:
    1) Kaveh lived homeless in the tavern for two whole weeks before Alhaitham found him there
    2) Kaveh’s main motivator is the guilt he feels for his father’s death and mothers misery. He can’t accept goodwill from others bc he believe he deserves to be punished, and he will bend over backwards for anyone in an attempt to relieve this guilt, even when it destroys him (or leaves him broke)
    3) Mehrak means “little light”, Kaveh made it when he was at his loneliest, hoping he’d have a least someone (or something) to understand him

The one thing this video didn't mention was why of Kaveh's and Alhaitham's friendship was broken. It wasn't that the ideology was soo different, it's that Alhaitham F'd up in his path to "correctness" that broke the bond.
This line from the Event Quest before I read Kaveh's story about this part.
"All I will say is that the world is not built on ""Correctness" alone. Sometimes, being correct means nothing at all."
That's not something you learn reading books, that's something you say from learned experience as well, and my first thought was "What did you do Alhaitham?"
And what Alhaitham did was throw Kaveh's guilt over his father's death as a means to win his argument, is how Alhaitham f'd up. To use something so personal as a "Defect" of Kaveh's logic is not the way to go in any relationship. If Alhaitham was concerned about it he should have talked about it. Although Alhaitham's was "correct" it wasn't the right time and thing to do. It was a petty/mean way to try to win an argument on Alhaitham's part and I think he did it because it was the first time Alhaitham was backed into a corner in his life, this wasn't logic, this was his emotions highjacking his logic,. Which is what emotions do all the time, highjacking our logic.
Alhaitham's EQ(emotional intelligence ) is soo underdeveloped it's in the gutter. As a "Gifted Child" he was too smart for classes and self-taught himself until he was a teenager... The problem with that is that he didn't learn to intact with people or peers when he was young. A lot of "Gifted Children" also suffer from this because they were not challenged with failure in their early years and don't know how to work through a wall or rely on others when they get older.
The problem is when you have an underdeveloped EQ you also fail to understand your own emotions or even realize you are having one that is highjacking your logic. The shame and bitterness Alhaitham probably felt for the first time in his life would have been a real eye-opener when he hurt Kaveh... this was the first time he hurt someone HE cared about instead of a random peer he watches. And the fact he allowed himself to care about anyone outside of his family probably shocked him as well. It's partly why so many of Alhaitham's voice lines are about Kaveh (even when asking about other people lol) because Kaveh's the first person he let into his heart and Kaveh basically living "rent-free" there for him as well. And why Alhaitham is so surprised at the end of the archon quest that he's made friends with so many people from Sumeru he would have never met otherwise or valued to intact with at all.
The fact that Alhaitham had to logic his way to his gut feeling of "Yes I will take Kaveh in" was to make a logical checklist as to why he should let Kaveh stay with him is hilarious and sad because Alhaitham doesn't trust his emotional at all.

@@vandavinarz8058 No, it's not the crates of alcohol. Apparently, there's another NPC dialogue about Alhaitham buying the crate of alcohol as an apology gift... lol I think that's why Alhaitham swipes as much of Kaveh's stash as much as Kaveh swipes his.
By mean/salty-ness is the fact that Alhaitham doesn't know how to handle when his boundaries are challenged. And Kaveh both knows how to and unwitting challenge Alhaitham. And what I mean by unwitting is that he expects Alhaitham to have some social norms... whereas Alhaitham actively avoids interacting with people and only Had his Grandmother to contest with a kid and teen. Kaveh calling him out on how cluttered the living room is, sent Alhaitham down a petty spiral from that point on... and he only considers Kaveh's point until after he has thoroughly roasted Kaveh first (Nahidah's mind scan). That's not logical, that his emotion getting the better of him and not knowing how to properly handle when someone makes him uncomfortable. lol
The fact that Kaveh makes him uncomfortable at all is telling that Alhaitham sees Kaveh as a person that has important to him, a human in his small "Important" box. This is the same Alhaitham that doesn't care about others opinions about him. Alhaitham could have just as easily ignored Kaveh's statement of fact... but no he deflects and nitpicks Kaveh instead. lol The mean/salty/petty-ness is a defence mechanism that's he not used to experiencing, so he doesn't realize why he's doing it half of the time probably and thinks it's 's him just having "fun".
Alhaitham not very good a showing concern either, for Kaveh when he starts to think dark thoughts Alhaitham actively engages him with a topic of debate or comments on something that he knows will piss Kaveh off to switch his train of thought.
Honestly, Alhaitham needs to try to have a genuine conversation with Kaveh instead of going with his roundabout way of calling all the things out. Just because Kaveh is intelligent enough to pick apart Alhaitham's maze of wordplay, doesn't mean even Kaveh gets what is lost in the translation of it. Alhaitham can't speak "common" human when it comes to his complex thoughts. For Alhaitham's being direct and honest he properly learned does piss people off because he's TOO Blunt about it when he finally joined the Akademiya with like -100 social skills, but he's failing to see that Kaveh appreciates it when he is more direct.
And the funny thing too is that Kaveh can speak with high-level Akademiya Jagon but he chooses not to so that EVERYONE can understand him in a conversation, he will also adjust his speech to the level of the crowd as well. Kaveh knows how to break down complex ideas and terms so that novices can follow... That is a skill set of high intelligence, being able to pass on knowledge to others at their level. No wonder he's teaching in the Akademiya as a professor in his B-day art story. Kaveh got a whole character arc between event stories, world text and Drip marketing.

I am really happy you went over his past and story, though I am shocked that this did not include the information learned through the event. We learned Mehrak is from King Deshret’s time, and Kaveh used up all his mora to buy and fashion it into his toolbox. His father had lost, but it was not out of shame that he went into the desert but because of the nihilistic views of Sachin and wanting to make things better for those that were suffering. He died in an accident, saving a caravan of people in the process.

The fact that Kaveh learned a new language at the same rate as Alhaitham speaks volumes to Kaveh's ability to learn rapidly in area's he's not majoring in. It also speaks to how "big picture" he can think, taking in new concepts and knowledge from other fields he doesn't have a finger in and learn from them. Taking small things to create a whole but he doesn't realize he's always doing this all the time.
Alhaitham in the event is trying to point this out to Kaveh but Alhaitham's EQ(emotional intelligence ) is soo underdeveloped he doesn't know how to convey things properly.

I really hate Dory for this one. A) The withering was beyond Kave's control. Is like lashing out on an architect becouse there was an earthquake during construction. B) he sold his belongings for finishing construction of her palace, yet she still asks him to pay her money for it. That's outright abusive. I know characters don't need to be good people, Scaramouche is literaly a political criminal, but damned, I really hate when people take adventage of good intentioned people and Dori just saw him on the floor and decided to kick him harder.

    • @kawansiesquad6659

But Kaveh is the one who convinced Dori to change the original location of where to build her palace. Because he’s the one who insisted on changing the location, the blame has to fall to him. Dori is of course mad about this, she pays him to build her palace, he changes the location, and then a withering zone pops out at the new location. Dori has every right to be mad, if Kaveh didn’t insist on changing the location nothing bad would have happened.
Kaveh in his pride, and due to the fuel of his loneliness and guilt, felt obligated to complete the palace, so he paid for the reconstruction himself, Dori saw his desperation and passion, and so decided to loan him money to complete it.
If anyone is to blame for this mess it’s Kaveh. Kaveh’s self sacrificing behaviour, pride, passion, loneliness and guilt caused his own downfall. Which is truly unfortunate. Someone get him some therapy or he’ll only continue to hurt himself. That’s why alhaitham housing him is such a big deal. If left alone, Kaveh would spiral further into depression and debt, but if alhaitham is there to make sure Kaveh spends his money reasonably, and pull Kaveh out of his self-sacrificing behaviour, then it ultimately helps him in the long run.

everytime someone has to adjust for kaveh, and dori was at first willing to just ignore it all together ignoring her own losses. but it was kaveh, yet again, stupidly insisted on finishing it, once again, ignoring the client's wishes.

great video, ive always admired your work and this has been another stunning one! i admire kaveh and his unrelenting effort to realize his ideals. i have one small regard in cyno's perspective in all of this however consider he was the one who invited kaveh to have dinner with tighnari and collei. contrary to the widely known opinion, i don't believe he was irritated that tighnari and collei laughed at kaveh's predicaments instead of his 'jokes'.
cyno, while still a mystery aside from his past of being adopted and experimented on in the akademiya and being the vessel of hermanubis, approaches his daily life seriously, without any way of making it light. hence he's often perceived as unapproachable which he doesn't want to be seen as, given his trauma response of being the once unwitting mole of the archon quest due to his consistent nature and because he wants people to feel comfortable enough around him since he's never going to divulge the nature of his work. which leaves him to be more expressive in his 'jokes' (he likes puns and puzzles that require some mental tinkering to see the value of) and in his games of tcg (he sees them as someone's tenacity to win, the strength of their desire).
if anything i would consider him to be sympathetic to kaveh's situation once he begins telling them. cyno might not know the full story but he does know to judge kaveh's predicament to be sympathetic and definitely not a laughing matter.

@@KlemenTime tbf recent cyno content has been highlighting on his fondness for tcg and 'jokes' which i find most ppl to have not realize that it's his way of creating a less serious side of himself. the way i see it, he can't fully separate himself from his general mahamatra persona. as the arbiter of judgement he's going to carry his set of values everywhere he goes, though he does withhold until he sees all the evidence laid bare before him. he has his own opinions, but he takes care not to assume until he can fully ascertain what is in front of him. but i guess it is a bit harder to determine what small pleasures like card games and dry humor would mean to him when he only abides to his own system of value that is discernably different than ours.

12:17 Seriously Dori? At least pay the man some Mora, he went bankrupt for you.

He went bankrupt for himself. His Integrity made him want to do the project right despite the consequences. There's a reason why he warns Cyno about spending a lot on your hobbies, because he did the same thing.
Dori had let him go from the project, but he had refused and instead wanted to pay for the palace from his own coin. That's not on Dori, that's on Kaveh.
