If you have purchased the bluray of the 10th anniversary concert in Yokohama arena (this video is also found in low video quality on a chinese youtube-like site I won't name), Misa is walking on the balcony surrounding the concert hall during the instrumental song "Onset" and she then stops right in front of her mother in the audience to play her bass solo. In this concert also, the three members of Lovebites, Asami, Haruna and Midori can be seen in the audience.
I never thought of this before but I think Miku’s evolution as a Rhythm player has probably freed Misa up in much the same way it has for Kanami. The puzzle pieces of this band just fit together so perfectly!
And that is the Band-Maid “sound”! Miku emphasizes the rhythm line throughout the song while MISA, Mincho & A-chan are free to roam wherever they like. No band I know of does it better or is even close.

There is a interview on YT where Misa says she practiced so much that when it came to doing the MV she has blisters on her hand. And Roberta from the Anime Black Lagoon looks just like Misa.
Thanks for continuing to react to the docs. As someone who is also an introvert, I can understand MISA's dress - covering up and disappearing into the darkness. Over the 11 years they've been together we can see MISA coming out of her shell a bit when on stage (I think that Kanami is pushing her). Thanks again.
As a musician who is primarily a bass player, there are two bass guitarists I've found who have challenged me to rethink what I play and when I play it. MISA is one of them, and the other is Eugene from Jinger.
Jim Beam. When Band-maid performed in Atlanta in 2023, I had a gift box for each Maid. Each box was large enough for legal files. The concert coordinator for LiveNation told me that the Maids got the boxes and looked into them and were excited by what was in them. In MISA's box, I put a quart of Woodford Reserve. I never found out if she got to sample it.
MISA was the first one to get rid of her apron. She also originally wore the tiny hat but threw it in the trash along with the apron, but Akane rescued the hat because she knew it would upset Miku.
Hi, I’m Japanese from Tokyo. As AKANE said in last year's streaming program, "We've been with 5 people for about a month on the tour, but when it's over, We want to see everyone from the next day, and when someone calls one of the members, they say, 'Oh, ◯◯-chan is here now. Are you coming home?' In the end, 5 people get together. That's why we're so close that we're together with five people almost everyday."
Another excellent reaction guys I am kinda sad there is only 1 member left. As someone else in the comments said there are 3 episodes for our fearless leader and you will get to see why. Can't wait for next BM Monday.
MISA! MISA! MISA! It's so hard to keep saying AMAZING! As all the Maids are AMAZING! MISA is by far my favorite bassist too. I actually caught a pick from her at the 2023 Sacramento show. I was on the rail but on the far left end. In front of me, a large speaker, elevated on the stage frame, and when the show started, a large bouncer...lol. I had to keep peering under the speaker to see MISA. I think she must have felt sorry for me as she did see me peaking under the speaker from time to time to see her play, which is why i think she threw the pick in my direction...😂 Even if it wasn't on purpose, I'm going to believe she did and live with that memory. So excited...our Little Pigeon is next. And she is so deserving of a 3 part series. Can't wait to enjoy these with you two. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
I for one am so grateful that you two are giving us the really fun experience of watching you discover all these things about BandMaid at the same time. For a Maidiac this is a treat!
I've watched each of these documentaries a number of times, but it's always fun to see the reactions of those who haven't previously seen them. Thanks!
Please check out Misa's bass playing in the "acoustic" version of Sayonakidori (sp). It is so beautiful, smooth and creative. Also, Akane sings back-up to Miku. Awesome song.
Gringa, if you get a hold of the Yokohama 2023 concert, you'll see MISA-san hi-fiving her mother when she was walking around the arena while performing.
I look forward to seeing Bandmaid's reactions every time. Of course, you two have an interest and thoughts about the Bandmaid members, but more than anything, I can always sense your respect for the music itself. It's really wonderful. I'm looking forward to the next one. Next time, it'll finally be Miku, right? Lol
Did you know that MISA and Kanami actually had a "tap-off conversation/dual" during one of their songs? For the beginning of "Clang" at the Bochum nightclub in Hamburg, they did that. There is a fan-cam by Vladimir Chupin (he loves Band-Maid and is one of the original Maidiacs) on his RUclips channel. He doesn't mind if anyone views it. The video just shows that MISA can play her bass in any style.
Nice reaction. The whiskey she likes is Jim Beam. In every concert I've been to, Misa has a pint of JB whiskey set on top of her bass amp. I gave her another nickname, THE GRUDGE, in Dallas. We got her attention, and she loved that nickname so much that we chanted "The Grudge." Misa is very shy, but during the MCs, she opened up to the fans. She had fun with everyone.
MISA is just called the Barefoot Assassin and isn't really one and anyone who has ever suggested otherwise...well, they've all mysteriously disappeared. 🤘MISA has said that, as concerns song composition, the lead and rhythm guitars are detuned by a quarter tone and sometimes a half-tone on recordings and also often during a show to make bending notes and tapping easier - but the bass is not detuned. This, she said, makes the sheet music quite difficult as Kanami is shown as playing in E, for example, while Misa is playing in E-flat. 🤘Although MISA always has a bottle of Jim Beam on top of her Orange amp, often carries a hip flask and sometimes has a cold beer brought on stage, it is Miku who is renowned for drinking the most! Just one of the many things about Miku that you're going to learn about over the next 3 weeks! Can't wait to see your reactions to my 3 favourite Ohrenje docs - and the answer to the mystery of why Miku needed 3 episodes!
The carrier pigeons rock! Po! 🎉🎉🎉 Seriously thank you for carrying the message of Band Maid to the masses! 🙏🐦 The Maidiacs will help Band Maid Dominate the world!
I know this is about Misa, and she's a really outstanding bass player who has easily taught me to pay more attention to that part of the band, but I just want to bring up a mention that somehow keeps coming up in all the documentaries here and there. For someone who was the last to join the band and obviously had a lot of struggles to connect, Saiki seems to be damn good at motivating and driving others as well as herself. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she has a good judgment of people and a vision or sense of the big picture and what's possible. :) _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Saiki seems to be the Quality Controller...for example, she gets final say on the live set lists. It's crazy how essential every member of this band is 💪❤
Saiki is a fashionista, she is a former model, she has taste and follows fashion trends. That is why she listens to a new song last and decides whether people will like it. Kanami once complained jokingly that Saiki threw out half of her songs.
I once saw a video of Miku showing the Maids at a restaurant and Misa and Saiki drinking or trying to drink very strong sake. Even Misa has limits on alcohol.😂 She seems serious and cool on stage but can make jokes with Akane. A world-class bassist. A pillar of the Band-Maid Tower. THANKS
Genius is usually mostly natural ability that you can't teach, plus a bit of influences. The same with her rhythm buddy Akane on drums. One of the tightest rhythm sections ever. The whiskey- Jim Beam.
MISA? Serious? LOL!!! She may be the funniest in a group of funny girls! As for her drinking, she toned that down during performances, switching to beer, after getting particularly hung over. But as for her love of whiskey, at one point, early on, she was considering Laphroaig as a last name. However, the bottle you'd usually see on her amp was Beam. But BAND-MAID is the most balanced band. And the two Darkness Sisters MISA & Saiki give it their edge. Without them BAND-MAID would be all Sweetness & Light. Nothing wrong with the, but they are so much more when all together. The other reason she's called The Assassin is she and Miku used to play a lot of PUB G. You can see a show where Miku goes into a Shooting Gallery to hone her skills. But the rest of the band don't call her Assassin, but Ass-chin, because of her cleft chin.
Can't wait for you to do Miku's documentary! She's easily my favorite in the band and highly underrated for what she actually contributes to Band-Maid's music. Gotta love Misa though! She's a BEAST and easily my favorite bassist currently. Haraguchi san and Fami are in the running as well.
After reading a few other comments I thought of this. If you haven't bought/seen the 10th anniversary Yokohama arena concert Blu-ray/DVD I can provide you a link to my google drive. I archived that concert and a few others that were purchased via livestream. Let me know if you're interested.

"She always comes across to me as very serious." Wait until you see some of the behind the scenes stuff with MISA. Especially when she's hanging out with Akane. That view of her is going to get tossed right out the window.
At their 2022 US show at The Belasco (DTLA), it was Misa's birthday show. During one of the MCs Miku got the bar to make her a celebratory drink. Misa chose top shelf Tequila, Po! She's a fan of youz, TJ, lol! 🦍🍌
Hey, guys!! Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. The Maids were great, but I ended up in hospital for the past week. Anyway, first night out and I'm going to kick back and watch the Misa doco with my mates. Life, love, peace, and good rocking to my fave reactors!! ❤🎉
I have found that most Japanese women who are much taller than average tend to be shy. MISA is about 5'8" which is very tall for a Japanese woman. BTW, there are adorable pictures of MISA with her then baby sister.
In their 10th anniversary concert DVD/BluRay, there's a place where Miku high fives MISA's mom when roaming around the arena on one of the catwalks. 90% sure it was MISA's mom, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, I believe Miku was singing "Rock in Me" hence no guitar. She walked a lap around the arena while she sang the song. MISA's mom had the dyed blonde hair with glasses.
It wasn't till Babymetal and Band-Maid that I suddenly got very interested in documentaries about bands. I just never understood the super-fan magazines and back stage fun moments videos. Now, I can't get enough info on my Japanese Goddess Bands.
You guys should try a reaction the anime Bochi the Rock. It’s about a girl in high school with social anxiety but wants to be a rock star and learned to play guitar on her own. It’s a wacky comedy with good music. The image that was showed was from the anime K-On. It’s also about girls forming a band in high school. It’s because of that anime I eventually found Band-Maid! I was looking up the music and found Baby Metal and started watching reactions, and then I tried this one band with maids and the song Dice. I thought I’d try it out and been hooked ever since!
When you hear a better bass performance it is usually in bands that have the room sonically, I don't know how she would fit her musicality in a band like Love Bites there really aren't gaps where she can shine. But I am sure she would sneak in as much as sonically possible
You guys gotta check out these 2 Band Maid live songs: Take Me Higher & Turn Me On Some kool bass moments in those. BTW - both are on *NekoAngel channel* in high quality
I do not know what you have planned for Miku's documentaries: All at once or 3 consecutive Mondays? Regardless of your decision: I am sure it will be awesome and please do not forget to bring tissues. ❤
Hi Jens! ... We Will be doing them in 3 parts in the 3 next coming Mondays FYI! .. we will be sure to have some tissues on hand! Thanks for the heads up! 🤣 Much love to you ❤️‼️🤘😃
I have seen a bottle of Glenfarclas 10 year old single Scotch Malt on her head unit . I have a bottle of the 15 year old at home . 46% non-chill filtered , natural colour . Also there is a photo of Misa standing behind a whisky bar , with the most beautiful smile on her face , surrounded by bottles of Springbank Malt ( the most sort after whisky in the world ) . ok that's the nerd stuff over . I will carry on watching . Also a shout out to PASCAL , he's a member of our " down the Asian music Rabbit hole , face book and RUclips community ) Check it out , amazing friendly people with a fountain of knowledge about the Asian music scene .
@@TJandTheGringa Mine too, but I can't deal with the Magic Johnson track 🤣 I'm from Wisconsin and I'm a Bucks fan, poo on the Lakers... I don't know if you have the Mother's Milk remaster, but there are extra tracks added and one is a demo called Salute to Kareem, which is cool because Kareem was a Buck before he was a Laker. Stone Cold Bush rocks! 🤘I saw Gringa shedding some tears in this one, give her a hug. When I saw the Maids for the 1st time last year, there were multiple moments that I needed some tissue... it's what they do
Just an observation/opinion on seeing the maids live. MISA is the player that is the closest to "absolutely perfect - no mistakes" playing. The rest of them are great, but the amount of complex tunes that they keep juggling at one time make this level of accuracy all but impossible, and yeah if you listen you can hear a missed note here are there. Not MISA. That's one thing I love about them as a band though - they're not afraid to keep pushing themselves (understatement of the century.)
When I saw them in Minneapolis (mini-police in pigeon-talk) last year, Miku actually flubbed her first line to Sayonakidori... she just took a second and continued unfazed.
OK, I don't know if they are out there, but Gringa REALLY needs a full set of Band-Maid Plushies ASAP! 🤣 The documentary was very good, but they didn't mention her 'bass idol' Paz Lenchantin, who also happens to frequently play barefoot. She played bass in A Perfect Circle, Billy Corgan's Zwan, and The Pixies. At some point after finishing the documentaries, you should do a double reaction to Thrill, a very important song in the history of Band-Maid. I would recommend the old original MV first followed by the official live version to highlight the growth of Miku.
So,I see you're saving Miku's documentary for last since she has 3 parts to her documentary. In my opinion, it's always best to start with Miku since it has the answers to many questions.
Damn it, Gringa, stop cutting the onions 😂 I have a feeling if Misa and Gringa met, after an hour they'd be best freinds 😊 Not the best fancam, but good enough. Misa and Kanami do a phenomenal duo in the middle of 'Influencer' at the Summer Sonic music festival ruclips.net/video/plC8W7lkd74/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks for doing these docos - really great stuff. Speaking of kick arse cool as f bassists, I don't know if you've ever checked out the band Sokoninaru? They are a 3 piece and every member is an absolute beast. Their bassist, Misaki, is fantastic and reminds a lot of Misa but still has her own style, tone, and a great voice (she does a lot of backing and some lead voc) Here's 2 songs, Brilliant City is a very straight forward song for them ruclips.net/video/Ch3OWNEdkbE/видео.htmlsi=lhL8sMetm8pcNMIB Kyokugen Ha Setsuna is a more crazy progressive one ruclips.net/video/UjY9n5JdETo/видео.htmlsi=UZ2bkKOFNeEbLnFu If you happen to give them a go, I'll be looking out for it for sure!

Wow, I need to rewatch. Doesn't Miku high five MISAs mom too though?
But she messed up abit. But it was goood to know she makes mistakes too😂😂😂
I love MISA's alto voice as she answers stem sentences.
A smooth-talking barefoot assassin.
And a beautiful lady

Hey, guys!! Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. The Maids were great, but I ended up in hospital for the past week. Anyway, first night out and I'm going to kick back and watch the Misa doco with my mates. Life, love, peace, and good rocking to my fave reactors!! ❤🎉
Oh no! I hope everything is okay with you now!!
All good! Planning my next trip!
She likes good bourbon, but she usually drinks Jim Beam on stage because it’s easily available in a plastic bottle to avoid broken glass on stage.
The tall girl is a definite thing in Japan...for example, in Azumanga Daioh, Sakaki is around 5'9" and displays the same sort of introversion.
I have found that most Japanese women who are much taller than average tend to be shy. MISA is about 5'8" which is very tall for a Japanese woman. BTW, there are adorable pictures of MISA with her then baby sister.
🤘🤘
In their 10th anniversary concert DVD/BluRay, there's a place where Miku high fives MISA's mom when roaming around the arena on one of the catwalks. 90% sure it was MISA's mom, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, I believe Miku was singing "Rock in Me" hence no guitar. She walked a lap around the arena while she sang the song. MISA's mom had the dyed blonde hair with glasses.
@@jeffedwards9180 Right 👍 That's what I thought.
It wasn't till Babymetal and Band-Maid that I suddenly got very interested in documentaries about bands. I just never understood the super-fan magazines and back stage fun moments videos. Now, I can't get enough info on my Japanese Goddess Bands.
Funny u mentioned voltron , I have a nickname for band maid when miku n saiki do harmonies n trade vocals , I call it po!tron

You guys gotta check out these 2 Band Maid live songs: Take Me Higher & Turn Me On
Some kool bass moments in those. BTW - both are on *NekoAngel channel* in high quality
Will do! Thank you for these 😃

Miku saved MISA and Akane from playing for that no-tarento, Becky.
Flea also plays the trumpet; you can hear him in the song "pretty little ditty" off of the album Mother's Milk.
Yes! Mother's Milk is my all time Fave Chili Peppers Album 🤘
When I saw the Maids for the 1st time last year, there were multiple moments that I needed some tissue... it's what they do
🤘😎🤘❤️
@jeffedwards9180 And I love that. Did she really say mini police? That's hilarious.
@@Kevin6059 Her accent is adorable.
Her nick name is The Bare Foot Assassin!
Oh, I forgot. MISA is one of the best bass players in the world...
Sorry, but not a mistake. :)
Looking forward to Miku, Miku and Miku. Ya know, when you're a Pigeon who has been around for 810 years, the story takes a while. 🕊️
Thank god she didn't end up like Kikuri Hiroi in her happiness spiral. Those who know, will know 😉
Something about those bassists and alcohol...
Damn it, Gringa, stop cutting the onions 😂
I have a feeling if Misa and Gringa met, after an hour they'd be best freinds 😊 Not the best fancam, but good enough.
Misa and Kanami do a phenomenal duo in the middle of 'Influencer' at the Summer Sonic music festival

I used to hate monday mournings but not now , guys get to cluppo voice b4 u start miku
Make sure you tune in Tomorrow!! :P ...Love you Polskabob
Thanks for doing these docos - really great stuff. Speaking of kick arse cool as f bassists, I don't know if you've ever checked out the band Sokoninaru? They are a 3 piece and every member is an absolute beast. Their bassist, Misaki, is fantastic and reminds a lot of Misa but still has her own style, tone, and a great voice (she does a lot of backing and some lead voc) Here's 2 songs,
Brilliant City is a very straight forward song for them ruclips.net/video/Ch3OWNEdkbE/видео.htmlsi=lhL8sMetm8pcNMIB
Kyokugen Ha Setsuna is a more crazy progressive one ruclips.net/video/UjY9n5JdETo/видео.htmlsi=UZ2bkKOFNeEbLnFu
If you happen to give them a go, I'll be looking out for it for sure!
