Miku the main songwriter (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) is a clever enough writer to rhyme Japanese and English. She's even been known to use a word that sounds like English and Japanese at the same time, with both meanings applying to the song. ^_^
Ohrenje documentary my friend. Each Maid has about a half hour story of how they came together as a band. Of course Miku has 3 parts, lol. Do you want to know why the Maids are the most loved band you will ever find? This will tell you. The Maidiacs love their girls.

This was another really enjoyable reaction to the video that first turned me on to Band-Maid. Is there anything about them I don’t love? No! By the way, you’re going to love Don’t You Tell Me, especially the live version.
Look, their studio recordings are good, their MVs are good, but their live performances are Tony the Tiger GREAT! Band-Maid comes alive on stage. No band engages an audience like Band-Maid can, You have to experience it.
What a great way to end my day. Great reaction as always, Kitsune. If you really want to enjoy Saiki's growls and the wonderful vocal harmonies of The Ice Queen and Miku, let me recommend Manners/Black hole live! Believe me, they will blow your mind! See.you! 🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great reaction and this performance was from the second show of a two day concert, each show 2+ hours and 22-23 songs. This song was the second to last song on the second day and Saiki (Singer) was really warmed up and giving it everything. Up to this point, Feb. 13/14 2020, these two shows were their largest shows at around 2K+ and both sold out. Thanks for doing the double. Miku (red rose) writes the lyrics for most of the songs and she uses a mixture of Japanese and English as some English words are shorter and flow better with the melody. It also works in the chorus to help audience chime in if the words are in English when playing in other parts of the world.

Funny that you refer to Saiki as the Vampire Queen based on her appearance and stage presence, but she also has very prominent "Yaeba" (Upper Canines), which resemble fangs when she smiles wide - considered a symbol of youth and beauty in Japan, you'll find many manga/cartoon depictions of Saiki drawn with tiny (adorable) vampire fangs
Miku is a very talented lyricist. Not only does she write Japanese lyrics that work for English speaking ears, but she weaves those with English and it all feels seamless. She’s a gift.
My favorite English-Japanese rhyme by Miku is in the song "Choose Me," where she ends a line with "say goodby" and then ends the next line with the Japanese word "kankenai." It's one of my top 10 favorite songs of theirs and one where I prefer the MV to every live I've seen. Sorry if this is a spoiler, but Kanami plays two delicious solos in the song. Saiki's name is pronounced (Psyche) Sigh-Key. the way you pronounce it, it would have to be spelled Seiki. However, you are correct! Shade, Domination live version was the first video I watched on RUclips during the pandemic. It got me hooked on them a literally saved my life. Long but true story. I have a few suggested songs for you to react to. "Manners/Black Hole", the official live video, is a two-fer that show how versatile they in their music. Two more proper hard driving rock song worth checking out are "Moratorium" and "Clang". If you like songs with a strong Motorhead vibes, those are two you want to hear.
Yes, Miku chooses the English words used carefully. Often the English words she uses sound similar to and will be heard by Japanese people as Japanese words with correct context.

Absolutely, I would love to hear Miku's performance of Rock in Me onthe 10th anniversary concert. She has went from being back up vocals and the hype girl to a great lead vocalist and guitarist on Synadokadory. On stage she has more of a guitarist swagger, than she used to. As a live a live performer Miku has an extremely full plate .
Miku may very well rhyme across languages elsewhere, but definitely does not here. The Japanese he thinks rhymed with "joke" is "dare ga wakanda yo?" Apart from a vaguely similar vowel sound at the end, there is no rhyme here.
Saiki doesn’t cease to improve. Watch Ohrenje’s documentary. She is a natural introvert and after only a few years fronting Band-Maid, underwent surgery on her vocal cords. Her career might well have been over just as it started. She has worked a lot with vocal coaches since. But she has also overcome, to a large extent, her shyness. From the documentary, it seems she had a very dominant mother. I wonder if she has not learned to channel a bit more of what she inherited from her mom, after gaining more confidence through the improvement of her vocal technique.
Coincidentally, all three of the BAND-MAID songs you listened to have different lyricists, and when Japanese lyricists mix English into the lyrics, they probably rhyme. Miku, who writes most of the lyrics, is particularly skilled, using Japanese and English sounds.

Freedom has a nice Akane solo. Also there is a straight up solo from the Yokohama show. Don’t You Tell and Unleash from Yokohama shows Saiki range. Actually anything from that concert is just peak.
rhyming Japanese and English words along side double entendres and cultural idioms is what sets Miku apart as a lyricist. she has 2 languages of words to pick from
DOMINATION live is the video that made me a fan. Don’t-miss OMVs include THRILL, THE NON-FICTION DAYS, WARNING, AFTER LIFE, BESTIE, and FORBIDDEN TALE. Also great are BEFORE YESTERDAY, DON’T YOU TELL ME, GLORY, BUBBLE, YOLO, and MANNERS.
Dude, I really don't think you should do Babymetal's _Arkadia_ before you've done _Starlight_ and _Shine._ Fans like to think of those three songs as the *Trilogy of Lights,* and generally consider them to be about dealing with the death of Mikio Fujioka. With your format of doing two or three videos per reaction, you should probably do all three of them in one sitting, and in order 🙂. Personally, I think _Starlight_ is the best of the three by far, and a bit of an underrated gem. I really like the music video for it as well, because it's a bit of an odd one. That all being said, both _Akatsuki_ and _Rondo of Nightmare_ are much better songs. Both big fan favorites, and way overdue (as opposed to Arkadia, which is still fine, but literally one of the least streamed Babymetal songs on Spotify). And don't forget to include the "unfinished" version of Akatsuki!
@@ShadeReactsLive I think it would make sense to familiarize yourself a bit more with the Kami Band in general, and Mikio in particular, before listening to these songs. But if you're eager to get going, here are some recommendations: _Starlight_ is the only song of the three that got a music video. I like it a lot. Although Babymetal is generally superior live, I always find the djenty guitar solos strangely muted for this particular song. And I am not aware of any show where they actually focus on the guitarists either, but only on the girls dancing. That being said, I believe the most popular performances used to be *Legend Metal Galaxy* (2020) and *The Forum* (2021). But you did get _Starlight_ at *Legend MM* last year, so I would say to go with that. I believe the most appreciated performance of _Shine_ is from *Legend M* (Moa's 20th birthday celebration in 2019), where Moa is "playing" Mikio's guitar on stage. I personally find it a bit disrespectful (as the guitar is not live), but I seem to be in the minority on that one. You can find a version of this on the *Babymetal Reactor Resource* channel. It has subtitles, and there is a link in the description if you want a version without the watermark. The *Legend M* perfomance of _Shine_ transitions directly into _Arkadia,_ so it would make sense to just continue with the same concert. Unfortunately, I'm do not think that is available on RUclips. So you might have to go with *Legend MM* instead. You can find the *Legend MM* performances of both _Starlight_ and _Arkadia_ over on *Hymnodic's* channel (which also has subtitles).

Freedom has a nice Akane solo. Also there is a straight up solo from the Yokohama show.
Don’t You Tell and Unleash from Yokohama shows Saiki range.
Actually anything from that concert is just peak.
rhyming Japanese and English words along side double entendres and cultural idioms is what sets Miku apart as a lyricist. she has 2 languages of words to pick from
Akane!!!! 10 pushups please.
😂
Japanese is super rythmic imho.
The "rhyme" you heard was "誰が解んだよ" or "dare ga wakanda yo"-the final 'o' sound is similar to the 'o' in joke, but that's about it. It's not a rhyme.
Ahh, it just sounded like it was on purpose, which I enjoyed!
Please check out Bandmaid song Don't let me down from 2015
DOMINATION live is the video that made me a fan.
I’ll do all three in one video for sure 🤘🦊🥃
Is there a good live version I should check out?
@@ShadeReactsLive I think it would make sense to familiarize yourself a bit more with the Kami Band in general, and Mikio in particular, before listening to these songs. But if you're eager to get going, here are some recommendations:
_Starlight_ is the only song of the three that got a music video.
You can find the *Legend MM* performances of both _Starlight_ and _Arkadia_ over on *Hymnodic's* channel (which also has subtitles).
let me Suggest the Band-Maid song "Rock In Me" a song where Saiki takes a break and Miku takes over lead vocals for the whole song. ruclips.net/video/FSqd0tQIrB8/видео.html
They use a lot of Emglish words because sometimes English words fit better in thw flow of the song.
Nice one you've got my sub, just one point of clarification I don't think you can demote Saiki from Queen to Princess 😁 what a fcken band Po 👍🍻
Oh shit did I say princess? Oh no she’s my vampire QUEEN 🧛♀️
@ShadeReactsLive 😁 Saiki is utterly mesmerising but I think you know that 👍🍻
They fixed the audio in mv , it used to sound horrible
Ur not considered a legitimate rock band in Japan if u don't use some English doesn't need to b In English entirely but has to have some
I really hope you'll be getting to The Warning soon, you're really missing out on something special with these sister's
Oh yeah Ive been hearing a lot about them in the comments! I think I’ll jump to them soon! I have just barely scratched the surface of Band-maid so I don’t want to get too sidetracked
