- The winds were high and seas rough but what an awesome opportunity to take out the new fish pro and push it to see its capabilities and try to catch a few fish while I’m at it.

I gotta get mine ordered... Really look forward to getting out farther than I want to go with my kayak! I love watching the fish Jimmy Phan catches at the rigs or farther for snapper... Great video!
That is so cool! Me and my buddy each ordered one this last August, and hopefully they get delivered in a month. We actually ordered the Sport, so I hope we don't regrett not getting the upgrades. According to the salesman, we will be only the second and third people to own one in the state of Montana!

Those "rollers" look very tame and at least there's no white caps. 100% a warmer weather craft. That is definitely the way to go when you don't want and company😆

The rollers around the jetty were calm but out at the end with wind and current they were stout. I can’t wait to get it to marsh!

Quick tech tip.... The strap hanging off your winch cable is what you loop thru the bow eye and back to the metal hook. Its so you dont chip your hull around the bow eye. 🙂

Man, we were just out there with the kids yesterday. The sheepshead are in the rocks thick right now.
Definitely need some reel covers. I wash mine every time. Three trips and my spare reel with no cover seized up. Now have a full set. Dollars well spent.
I will look into them but after rinsing I then use rem oil and reoil my reels and they are still working like new
I have had my SeaDoo Pro for 2 years now and I use the cruise control for trolling it works fine.
Good video. I just got my 2022 FishPro trophy also. you are correct, if this had a trolling motor it would be a complete game changer.......soooo. I am in the process designing a mount for the I-pilot Minn Kota now. 😀
Awesome to hear you are creating your own Mount. I would love if you hit me up on Instagram and sent me a DM to see how you are doing it. I know trollskii has a set up but when trolling motor is stowed it prevents you from opening front hatch which is a big con for me
I thought FP Trophy had a trolling mode built in?
@@KagenFishing just fyi there is a guy that fabricates mounts for those seadoos on you tube i think his name is mike stinger but i could be wrong. He has a youtube channel as well. He is out of Houston also.

Excellent video! I’m a kayak angler.(autopilot with spot lock) . I enjoy kayak fishing but the yak is slooow! I’m considering a 16 ft aluminum boat or a fish pro. I have a small suv. I don’t want to have to purchase a bigger vehicle. I want to troll Lake Erie for walleye. The sea doo looks like a lot of fun ripping spot to spot. Thanks

Thanks so much for these videos. I've had my eye on these for a few years. The new trophy version has pretty much sealed the deal...with the addition of your reviews and use! I also would be using in Clear Lake, Texas City, Dickinson, GB, etc! I would love if you could help me with one quick question that I have been unable to answer....I have a limited 'length' of space for storage...with it on the trailer, could you tell me the exact length from the tip of the trailer tongue to the very back? I would be very grateful!
One other idea for you ... Use a drift sock for a controlled drift after you have marked some fish on the finder.
You should try how shallow that PWC can go, there's a lot of Red and Specs in them marshes. When I'm tired of taking care of my boat a fishing PWC would be my next investment, it's better than being land locked.
You can't take it to shallow because it will suck up grass and plug intake. Definitely need a bow mount trolling motor if want to fish shallow.
@@saltydawg9260 Well that sucks, I agree about a trolling motor, and additional large staff to push your way in it can work.
Check some videos on Seedoo fishing from New Zealand and Australia. Great setups with trolling motor mounts and tubies.
Would love to have one, but it's pretty expensive at $13,900 plus surcharge of $400-600+, not including your state tax yet. By that time its close to a bass boat prices.

My son is picking his up tomorrow. I have already sent him your links. He is new to fishing; but, he is not new to jet skis. He will be fishing Lake Austin and Galveston. Can you just launch in surf from a Drive Beach/East Beach on Galveston?? The last skis we had were 2010? FI Hondas of about the same horsepower.Thanks!
Not sure about a 20K vessel without a trolling motor, end up fishing right beside the pier, afraid to stand up because platform is so small and catching no fish. But it’s fun and a blast to drive!!🎉. Not sure about it as a top notch fishing platform. Off shore, in the event of mechanical failure, you are screwed without a paddle.
I’m going to get a trolling motor on it. That’s why you have a seatow membership or go with other people that have skis too.

That’s mainly why I got the fish pro. With its 18.5 gallon internal tank it has a range of 90-100miles when running in eco mode. The other great thing is with the 2 linq attachments points I can have the cooler and still attach an extra 4 gallon tank. There are also other racks I can put in that will fit a 5 gallon tank. I plan to get offshore as soon as I get a good weather opportunity!
Is that a nature nest roof top tent ?
I have one on order cant wait. My only concern is the water splashing during the ride will get in the reels in the rodholders anything we can do ?
You can have them in your front rod holders and won’t get wet at all. If you are in fresh water it won’t hurt them at all just oil reels every now and then. In salt water and back on cooler just rinse after a trip if you have salt rated reels. Honestly just normal maintenance keeps them working just fine.

I ordered me one 2, wondering how much the charged you for the trailer? Dealer told me $2500, was wondering if it is a better option to buy a used one😑
It’s probably a better deal to find a used one but at the same time the Move trailers are all aluminum and I have to say quality made by looking at the welds also this is the first trailer I have owned that’s a torsion axel and it tows so much smoother than leaf springs.
I’d be straight out to the oil rigs. Tie off and fish.
Which do you like fishing on more,the solo skiff or sea doo?I'm looking into getting one or the other but would like your opinion brother
Just depends on where you like to fish the most. Solo skiff for super shallow marsh hunting for reds but only for one person. Seadoo for flats fishing, open water, offshore handles rough water like a dream and it’s just fun af to rip around on and you can take another person to fish or ride with you. So both have pros and cons just have to figure out which one you would use more. Hope that helps.

Not sure about the brand of net. It’s just a floating one I got at academy and its actually not waders it’s the and H2O express bibs

Yah it’s an old shrimp boat been there for a long while now. It’s closer to the beach though

It’s just an academy kayak one I’ve had for ever. Floats and is small diameter but will net some upper slot reds

Yah for offshore trolling but inshore/marsh fishing running motor will spook fish and I’m guessing you have never used a spot lock trolling motor before cause they are awesome.
Do you feel safer on the fish pro vs solo skiff
Honestly yes and no. I do feel safer on the fish pro due to my higher sitting position and further sight line and able to be seen also knowing I have more power to get out of harms way quicker potentially. But on the other hand the fish pro is more capable in tougher waters and can go further faster so on the other hand instead of me being in a still marsh with calm water on the soloskiff I then go further and in rougher, deeper water and further so kind of a relative term of what you do with each. I think it’s just always keeping in mind what you are comfortable with and the risk you are taking on every outing no matter the vessel. Really awesome question and greatly appreciate the comment.
Thanks for the awesome reply! I have a solo and well I just don't feel that safe on it..I think I would like to have something more seaworthy and not be so concerned about flipping over. I'm 65 and don't want the hassle if you know what I mean. Looking forward for more of your adventures!

Why would sea doo place weakest engine on fish pro trophy? Why not install at least 230 engine, not even talking about 300 that gtx has, why 170? And no option to upgrade fish pro to a 230 engine?
Probably gas consumption. It lets you go a little further. I could be wrong though.
The Rotax 170 isn't a weak engine. Far from it. 170 fuel economy is superior for a vessel you want to fish on all day. My range full tank is around 140 miles depending on water conditions. Turbo charged PWC's are gas hogs. Its a fishing rig not a speedster machine. My GTX 170 does 58MPH and that's fast enough for me.

2s-3s with a short period is pretty rough on a PWC, but this Seadoo hull is by far the most capable PWC on the market.
