Hey Grove ,,Things that cause over heating ,, Cooling Fan not working .. Thermostat stuck ,, belts lose , plugged radiator ,, coolant hoses leaking ,, water pump weak or done ,, Any Computer systems controlling these if applicable...
Turned out to be much more than just the radiator. That truck was such a mess, but it got me to work while it could. Idk if any amount of money would have avoided the overheating; outside of an engine swap.
Yep thermostat will do it. Or it could have went back the other way. Where it stays open and then the vehicle won't warm up. It's cool it was a small item.
Not necessarily, when I had a bad radiator on my '94 Ford Explorer, I got it replaced and only put in water to make it home until I could buy coolant for cheaper than the shop wanted to charge for some... lived in Phoenix, mid-summer, 110° out, barely made it 2 miles on the interstate before overheating started. Stopped at a gas station, let it cool, bought coolant and added it, car ran perfectly.
A thermostat change fixed this overheating issue we had! So sorry I took weeks to respond. The torque converter is the latest problem. Been experiencing major shuddering. Also, Fishing trip soon?
Torque converter shudder is the latest issue with my Truck. When we going fishing John? Val Sti wants to go with us on a charter. Are you busy on Sundays?

Needs water and coolant. Water would get you home the coolant keeps it from freezing in the winter.
