AWESOME BUDDY !!! I've never heard anyone cover this song.. One of my favorites... I lived in Cotati, CA when Cacophony made their first album. I knew the record label producer MIke Varney. They actually rented my Marshall cabinet to record the second album. I became friends with Jason. He was so young and awesome. I'm a (old) shredder myself and once in a while would get to jam with Marty and Jason... It was really a treat ! I just wanted to say keep up the good work. Not enough people appreciate the talent those two guys have. Sad about Jason of course.

I was so into cacophony when I was 15 ❤️ Jason is the GOAT. Period.
I'm fourteen though
more impressed you can remember that much more than ability to play it! hehe I'm not enamored by the song itself cuz it's just a bunch of patterns strung together but you played it well enough to hardly stand out from the track mistake-wise. I mean, out of the whole thing I could only detect a few deviances from the track and they were timing issues more than missing any notes. Like 3 or 4. That's crazy good. Well, for 14 years old I'd say you pretty much kicked all kinds of butt on this one.

His playing style reminds me of Michael Romeo. Very easy and with little overall finger movements, with flawless speed.

He's now attending MI out in California and has stepped up his game quite a bit. I have considered going out there and attending for quite a while. Honestly I'm not sure paying the money they ask for simply for "connections and networking" is worth the price. I can go get a composition and theory degree at LA community college and go hang out on the campus of MI talking to people and get connections lol. The education you get there is questionable I found out after doing quite a bit of research into the school. If anyone is considering it i highly suggest taking a trip for a couple weeks out there and doing a tour of the school plus research online. I think just going out to that area if you have the skills to play well and trying to make a career for yourself is a good thing just not sure if Musicians Institute is really worth the price of admission or not though.

Dude Matt (I) played like this when I was 14. > if you start at 8/9 with a healthy super appetite watching Kung fu and flipper. 2nd grade friends like gnr & Metallica. YOU R GONNA DEVELOP THE SKILL IDEA HEART & POWER TO shred. It’s the imagination. The feel of the world YOU love. And the strain and patience you can tune to hone connect and organize what you can put into music.
Then obviously you must take training to really apply all that to a real structured lesson plan and learn music
Lessons will help any self taught good listener speed up and start to be able to play real music better.

Amazing ability at such a young age! Makes me wish I had taken guitar more seriously when I was younger, but I guess it's better late than never.
I only recently discovered Luis. While not being surprised that he was good and talented even as a young teenager, I was still completely blown away when things started getting busy around the 5:18 mark. What an incredible talent! (Yes, I know, it's practice too, but holy shit the man is talented!)
