These are great videos. I'm at the "report problems via the city app" stage and thinking about how to do more. I appreciate the inspiration these kinds of "now you have your bike, what next?" videos give.
I feel lucky to have a candidate for local office I am excited to vote for and support in my district! This was a fun conversation. Grateful to Adam for taking the time!
I enjoy all of your videos but this one was excellent. Thanks for all the wonderful reminders of how to get involved and make change. If you are looking for future video ideas. Would love to see one where you make one with your partner using his e-bike to get from point A to point B and compare that to a car. Also, I think it would be interesting to do a video on the affordability of taking bus downtown versus paying for parking. I know that’s a motivator for me to use the 801 because $2.50 sure beats the $20+ parking fee.
Thanks for the kind words! Adam is amazing. Very excited to be able to vote for him in November. We have some more local content coming over the next few weeks involving local/ regional rail projects (we have a great guest for this one!), a trip we did down to San Antonio a few weeks back, as well as a local kids program that teaches them how to use transit in Austin! Very excited for all of those. Thanks again for watching! -Louis
Thanks for the feedback and watching! We'll be sure to expand more on this in the future. The short answer is most cities have a 311 app or something similar to note small problems happening in your city or town to officials who can fix them. If there is a car blocking a bike lane, a beg button that isn't working, a crosswalk that needs painting, etc... Generally speaking you can submit those things right in the app.
The single best thing you can do is to get involved with other like minded people. It was definitely a struggle for me as I didn't know of any groups and I'm rather introverted. I found a sticker around town for a local advocate's Instagram and now I'm connected to so many wonderful people around town. Conversation group, transit riders' union, bike club etc
Love this conversational video and hope more city council candidates share their voice in this style around the world! I’ve joined a local group, spoken at city council, am trying to get a seat on the city’s new transportation commission, and contemplate running for local office a lot. It’s really time for young people to get involved in local politics and environmental design, I encourage everyone to use their voice and find their interests in urbanism.
Thanks for the comment Sarah! Adam is a fantastic candidate and I am very excited to be able to vote for him! He, as well as several others have taught me a lot about getting more involved and how important it is! Thanks for watching and consider subscribing if you haven't already :) -Louis
This is actually so helpful. I am so active on Twitter shouting for change but this helped me to understand how I may be able to make a real difference in my community. Thanks for this video!!!
Thanks for watching! Adam is great. This conversation inspired me to go speak at City Council in a future episode you may enjoy! I'll link it here. Thanks. -Louis ruclips.net/video/iiXiRRYLoqI/видео.htmlsi=rgrTHwRBbwthRNTe

You should expand on how you can use the 311 ap to improve things
