- Great and inspiring movie. I noticed that these bloopers were not on youtube! i love this movie! i do not own any of the clips! comment & rate! thank you so much for watching and commenting and rating and like idk! thank you! GO USA! feb 22nd is the anniversary of this great day in history!!
One of the things that made this movie so great was they hired hockey players who could act instead of trying to teach actors to play hockey.
From what i heard they did not know how to act they just taught them to act. Great movie one of my favorites.
One of my favorite movies, but the acting really wasn't very good. Aside from Kurt Russell, of course haha
such a good move because sports movies with actors who arent athletes suck
Fun Facts for those that don't know.
1. It was easier for the studio to get real college hockey players and teach them to act than to get actors and teach them how to play hockey to an acceptable standard.
2. The original 1980 team visited the set and thought that they were looking at themselves when they saw the guys in the locker room call each other by the names of the people they were playing.
AND LASTLY, THE GUY THAT PLAYED BUZZ SCHNEIDER IN THE MOVIE IS BILLY SCHNEIDER, SON OF BUZZ SCHNEIDER!!!!!
So the guy who played buzz Schneider is buzz Schneider’s son?

how he got the part is a pretty cool story too. Beat up a guy bullying the other guys auditioning and as hes leaving the director says NO youre perfect for this part!

The guy who portrayed Ralph Cox, Kenneth Mitchell, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (AKA: Lou Gehrig's disease) in February 2020.

Great movie, and great action!! I watched the real game on TV. The movie was just as exciting as the real game!! I just wonder if these guys were real hockey players who learned how to act, or real actors who learned how to skate and play hockey?
