- Do you have trouble making friends? I’ve always struggled with it and for a long time blamed it on being introverted. But there are actually lots of opportunities for introverts to make friends! So let’s get past our misconceptions and make some meaningful connections!

I’m an introvert, I had very few friends. Then I met a extrovert and they didn’t want me to be alone, so they introduced me to some people they knew. Now I have more friends than I can count.
Bit late to the party 🎉. I am personally an extravert. I could hang out with people literally every day. My best friend is an Introvert. We have been friends for about 4 1/2 years now. But trust me It took some time for me to get accustomed to how she likes things. Sometimes we talk or hangout every weekend other times we only hangout or even talk like 2-3 times a month. But regardless of how often or not we interact, I still respect and love her for who she is. I'm no expert but between introverts and extroverts. It really does not matter. What matters is how well you can understand, communicate and respect each other. Having the maturity to listen and not judge, being kind and thoughtful. Be encouraging and honest. That makes a good friend. Thought I would chime in a lil lol. Hope this can help someone ☺️
I'm introverted and all my good friends only stay for a year. most of the reasons is because of moving.
One of my closest friends, Andy, appears on the surface to be a classic extrovert. He's sickeningly handsome and charismatic, hugely intelligent, seems comfortable around people (especially women) and is absolutely hilarious. I think the world of this guy, we've been through a lot together and we should hate each other's guts by now but somehow were still mates. I'd trust him with my life.
Having known and observed him for something over 20 years, it transpires he's anything but an extrovert. He's as much an introvert as I am. That's weird because I'd always thought his character was a good foil to mine and that's why were such good friends but no, in his more candid moments he'll admit he prefers his own company to absolutely anything and that at best he finds dealing with most other people a "baffling ordeal", to use his exact words.
Where we differ is that he's the kind of person who forces himself to do things he doesn't want to because it toughens him up whereas I tend to shut down and lock myself away. Weird to relate then that the two approaches, as disparate as they are, amount to much the same thing.
I'll never understand people!
Maybe he is an ambivert?
I never had a lot of friends just a few & kind of always felt like I didn't fit in socially especially around a lot of people at a gathering or party.
I'm introverted & enjoy my alone time and also have a few friends not many.

Thanks for this. It took me a while to warm up to my co-workers, but luckily they jusy threw me into socializing off the bat. I got to talk to other dog owners at the park because my dog needs to be socialized, so I had to do the unthinkable and actually talk to dog owners.

It just seems like I have friends but I still feel alone.. and I feel like if I ask someone to hang out they will say no cause I’m stupid
I’m sure that you’re not stupid Jojo’s World, just different smartness. I have an introvert female friend who is a writer and I’m very mechanical but we like each other. I just wish I could figure her out better.
I'm. In a sticky spot kind of. I'm an ambiverted personality, and my best friend in the world is a hardcore introvert. And while one would assume that it's almost perfect, that we can have introverted time together... that is not the case. My husband is disabled, and so my employment is taking care of him, and he is very introverted himself. So if I had two batteries, one charged by introverted activities, and the other charged by extroverted, my introvert battery 99% of the time is overcharged, and my extrovert battery is on fumes. This is only made worse by her employment, which is to teach middle school.
So by the time we get together, she needs to introvert and I need to extrovert and it's just... stressful for both of us and kind of painful.
If I could get any kind of reasonable advice, tha'd be great.

Me talking out loud: yea yea....sure *walks away and gets something to drink*
My mind: NOOOOOOOOOO I DO LOVE MY FRIENDS BUT NEVER COME OVER TO MY HOUSE
As a introvert/maybe ambiavert/or social introvert to some extent, I have a best friend from College who is a Extrovert and a HS best friend who is a more shy introvert than I am. Its interesting that out of my close friend group I have 2 extrovert friends that are indeed extrovert and most are introvert but we have common interest and definitely seem to have a good understanding or boundaries.
When it comes to people I think are interesting, mysterious, or talented and I admire their skills or what not I get shy trying to talk to them even if I know them. I think what to say but try to not think it sound silly or I look silly for saying it in person. Struggle
