  • In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Eryn, show us the physics behind swimming. With this experiment we will be taking a trip to the poolside to learn what makes swimmers, like the world’s most decorated olympic medallist Michael Phelps, so fast! By the end of this video you will learn a bit about Newton's laws of motion as well as the forces of thrust, buoyancy, and drag in order to understand what really goes on under the surface! For this experiment you’ll need a pool (or any safe body of water) and yourself in swim gear. You can skip ahead to 0:56 to jump straight to the experiment!

You’re sister seems so fast , what’s her 50m fly and free time and her 100m free time in scm if possible.
Im a 15y/o female trying to improve my times for those events, does she have any generic tips e.g, how to get faster underwaters, more power on the kick/pull etc.
    Thanks and great vid btw!!

There is one thing very important for swimming missing in your vedio...this is the the moment that will be produced by using muscles ...as example when swimmer raise arm up ...the shoulder muscle will produce moment on the shoulder ...this very important point and can impact the swimmer if not understand ...
Aporeciate your efforts for this very good vedio ...
    Thank You
