These charts helped me when I first started getting serious with pistol shooting, I was shooting low left, made some adjustments according to the chart and immediately got back on target. .. these work. .. also if you have a pistol with a laser, if you turn on the laser and point the gun at the target chart while doing dry fire practice you can reveal bad habits as well.
Last year, I started going to the range on a consistent basis. The range had targets called shooter Tudor dude was similar to this, but for right handers. I found this chart on line for lefties, printed out several and would use them as targets. These helped me become a better shooter and I continue to improve. I highly recommend these.
Wow!! Great chart!!I will print this out and take with me to the range today. I'm a new shooter from the bay area. I seem to be constantly shooting to the left and low. This chart will definitely help!!! Thanks
Thanks for the brief video and useful tips! I was just out at the range with my new PPQ and am always grouping left of the target, although aiming correctly. Couldn't believe that the sights are so off but now, thanks to you, I have something to go on. Thanks a lot!
Wish I had this when I first started shooting, could have saved a lot of time and money. But now I have it for my wife and we will be using this as the actual target (printing up a few before heading to the range). I think this will help us dial her in quickly. Thanks for creating/sharing this great resource!
I don't put much pressure on the handle by either hand at all but I do keep my wrist straight. I found the more forward I lean forward with my body the more horizontal my shooting arm becomes which lines up my wrist and arm so I don't have a limp wrist problem. I hope that helps.
Thanks for the link. I printed these & use it at the range. Nice aid when helping a new shooter. It's sometimes hard to get across what they are doing wrong.
Hi There, Great video and thank you for the chart. Now the questions: 1) WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL SIZE OF THE CHART ( when I print only right handed chart, what size of paper it should be ?) 2) WHAT IS THE DISTANCE THAT THIS SHOULD BE TESTED or PRACTICED ? Is it the effective range for a specific pistol ? Thank you for your answers in advance !!!! Hope ASAP today - want to go to range today.
One of my carry pistols likes to jam when feeding if you limp wrist it. So I probably have a lot of flaws and inaccuracies because I'm squeezing the handle fairly hard. Would you folks say it's good to just have equal pressure on all fingers and contact points of the pistol? Thanks for the chart though, good stuff!
I have shot more rounds out of my sigma 9 than any other firearm. I really like that hand gun. I seem to quite well with it using a loose grip on the handle and my finger tip on the trigger.
Suggestions to improve accuracy. 1. Get training, pay for a class where you have an instructor teach you tje correct way. 2. Do dry practice. Can be 5 to 30 min a few times a week. Work on tje grip, draw, sight allignment, trigger press, reloads. The real key is aligning the sights and not moving them during the trigger press. Most people dont even know they are doing it. 3. Practice the trigger press some more.
I'm always pulling right. But only with one gun a sigma 9 mm. Trigger breaks almost at the framework haven't had that problem before with other guns though I usually shoot a snub revolver nice vid Gina use it
thanks. Cool chart. I'm starting to look at my shooting more despite shooting fairly well. this past year I started shooting low and to left (right hand) need more finger. Does "tightening fingers" mean to tighten to loosen....sorry. It might be clear later to me. I should nice tight groups.
I subbed for beekeeping and got bonus handgun skills awsome will pop a few on the string this weekend and rent a glock (can't aim for nothing with it) I wanna see a newbie shoot a 500 s&w and see if they hit bullseye
what is thumbing or squeezing thumb? Are we talking about the support hand thumb pressing on the frame underneath the slide? Or are we talking about the shooting thumb ?
My problem doesn't fall within the chart. Recently I seem to have an erratic performance. Over the past month, it has been getting worse. The shots seem to hang around the center. The ammo is fine. The pistol is fine. My groups don't fall into a sector. I have disappointingly and surprisingly large groups. What could my problem be?
MrSottobanco you are looking at the target and not the sights. The bullets go where the gun is pointed. If the rounds are all over the place the gun is pointed all over the place. Focus on the sights
I am a right handed shooter so according to the chart I am "tightening fingers" and "jerking or slapping trigger". I think I know what jerking the trigger means but what is tightening fingers and how do I correct that?
Try taking a more forward stance. Lean forward putting about 70% of your weight on your forward most leg while blading the pistol. Just make sure that your shoulders are squared up to the target and that both of your arms are puched out to about 95% full extension. I hope this helps you.
+Subb2kSurvivor im hilling (anticipating recoil) and to little trigger figer do you know how to fix that? sorry first time shooting with my dad he also said I need to relax and slow down with my trigger finger I was shooting a bareta 92 fs every time the sights came back on target i shot again. my dad is US NAVY so should I ask him to teach me how to shoot more accurately?
selfworthy you’re anticipating your shot, so in a sense you’re adding undue pressure to the pistol with the heel of the palm just prior to the shot breaking. This pressure forces the front sight up just as the trigger trips the sear. The result is a shot far above the mark.
Breaking your wrist up or down basically means that you anticipate the recoil either by pushing down before the shot or pulling up before the shot. When you shoot, it should almost be a surprise that the gun goes off(not literally of course), but you know what I mean. So many people's mistakes with shooting involve anticipating the recoil, flinching, jerking the trigger. Basically, let's say you have the perfect sight on your target. Now some machine comes down and somehow takes the gun away from you without changing where it's pointing. The bullet would go where you were aiming, no? But there are hundreds of little quirks and tics people have when shooting, and the smallest thing can make a big difference when we're talking guns. Basically, relax as much as you can, don't anticipate the recoil, just squeeze(not jerk or pull!) the trigger and don't even think about what's coming. If it catches you a bit by surprise, you did it right.
well that makes sense. I practiced at the range and kept shooting low..my husband told me I was anticipating the jerk or recoil. Indeed I was. when I went to take my chl test and was focused, I did ok, not perfect, but found when I wasn't actually "thinking" about the jerk , because of the time constraints and focusing more on the loading and accuracy, I seemed to do much better. thanks for your videos. I love watching them.
Your wrists break because your shoulders, arms, and wrists aren’t extended & locked out. Trigger jerk does not exist. Never has. At full extension (arms extended as far as they can go) try to touch your nose to the back of the gun. That will give you about 3 more inches of extension. At that point your wrists won’t break. Don’t listen to the trigger jerk bs. It’s not real.
Most of these appalling things are happening in "gun-free" zones. Criminals aren't stupid. They ignore the law and go where good people can't stop them.

We used this exact chart in the Navy. Works well and instant results, I highly recommend using it every time you shoot.
I might be out of line but this chart is bullshit. All I'm going to say is maintain sight picture as you press the trigger. Bullseyes. Done!

Excellent information. Downloaded the chart over one year ago, and it helped my friends and I tremendously. Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks for posting this. Great reference tool

Exactly what I needed to see! Thanks. Will try to correct next time I'm at the range.
You are very welcome. I hope it helps you and others you share it with.
LDSPrepper where's the link to the chart?
Thanks for the link. I printed these & use it at the range. Nice aid when helping a new shooter. It's sometimes hard to get across what they are doing wrong.
I use these as my actual target. Instant feedback which has helped me build the muscle memory.

Great chart, wish I had this forever ago.
Thanks for the time! I know this will help.
thanks, the video is great. The chart is awesome. I'm definitely going to print it out and take it to the range
ah mecorp good stuff thank you very very much I greatly appreciate it
I have used these for a while now. They work well.
Thank you for the video and chart, very helpful.

I'm glad you liked it.
At what distance should these be used to diagnose the problem clearly?
I have shot more rounds out of my sigma 9 than any other firearm. I really like that hand gun. I seem to quite well with it using a loose grip on the handle and my finger tip on the trigger.
How neat. Thank you for doing this. God Speed

Cool and amazingly presented
Where is the link for the chart
I shoot right but left eye dominant. Just started hand guns. Which target would I use?
You are welcome.
Excellent information. Thank you.
Thank you LDS!
At what distance are they meant to be used for best indicating the problem areas?
I'm always pulling right. But only with one gun a sigma 9 mm. Trigger breaks almost at the framework haven't had that problem before with other guns though I usually shoot a snub revolver nice vid Gina use it
I don't shoot guns much anymore now that I'm out of the military, but this is some very cool information. Good information.
Thanks for sharing this
Great recommendation. Thank you.

miragexl007 low left is left handed grip too weak and your index isn’t correct. 100% grip both hands. Smash your palms together on the gun as well.
I subbed for beekeeping and got bonus handgun skills awsome will pop a few on the string this weekend and rent a glock (can't aim for nothing with it) I wanna see a newbie shoot a 500 s&w and see if they hit bullseye
How do I print the Chart.?????
Great info. Much obliged.
Thanks man!
where to take and print??
The distance should not really make much difference. Use it at what ever distance you practice at.
Thank you!
This is great...thanks a lot for this
My Ruger GP100 6" is shooting about a foot high & I've tried adjusting the rear sights up & down, yet no improvement. What could I be doing wrong?
The link doesn't work anymore because Photo Bucket changed their rules. Please provide another link to the document.
Great chart, thank you. Just one question. What do you mean by 'pushing / no follow through' in the 10 o'clock pie?
what is thumbing or squeezing thumb? Are we talking about the support hand thumb pressing on the frame underneath the slide? Or are we talking about the shooting thumb ?
Keegan Jacobs it doesn’t exist. Don’t follow this pie chart. It is complete crap
Use this chart in conjunction with your target to help you know what you need to do to have better accuracy on your target.
Can i print this and use it as a target? And will that help?
So when do you adjust sights
yeah, nice- thanks for this
are this still available? went to photo bucket and got stuck.
Very nice. TY.
about how far away should i be when i use one of these?
Do about 7 yards, then 15, then 25
so , where should the trigger be touching on the finger pad ?
In the very middle.
I'm trying to find a company that will put this on a T-Shirt. Right hand in front and left hand in the back.
Thank ya buddy
Very cool...thanks!
Theres no chart

This target works!!
I am a right handed shooter so according to the chart I am "tightening fingers" and "jerking or slapping trigger". I think I know what jerking the trigger means but what is tightening fingers and how do I correct that?
Hector Caroselli
I think you're probably tightening your grip on the pistol grip as you shoot.
Holding the weapon, particularly the pistol grip too tight
This should be really useful as we all know that handguns are always sighted in from the factory.
ardvarkkkkk1 Do I sense a little sarcasm. :^)
I think im pushing how would you stop this?
Try taking a more forward stance. Lean forward putting about 70% of your weight on your forward most leg while blading the pistol. Just make sure that your shoulders are squared up to the target and that both of your arms are puched out to about 95% full extension. I hope this helps you.

This chart is for one handed conventional pistol shooting for sport.
If anybody still reads this, what does heeling mean?
selfworthy you’re anticipating your shot, so in a sense you’re adding undue pressure to the pistol with the heel of the palm just prior to the shot breaking. This pressure forces the front sight up just as the trigger trips the sear. The result is a shot far above the mark.
@@prestonbrewer6919 Wow best explanation, thank you very much!
@@@selfworthy You're welcome, good luck!
Going to use it. Sorry spell check
Cool!

Sorry, this chart has been long debunked.Happy you're helping new shooters and spreading the word of responsibility and preparedness.
