I got since it's release and got the varis when it came out a few weeks ago. Brilliant stuff ! Also clipping wise I got the gold clip from Schwabedigital. It's got some nice mastering features :) Cheers to yall !
Would be cool if you'd review their new Varis plugin as well. I already own Islander and not sure if Varis is different enough for it to be worth buying as well? I guess I should probably just try the demo...
I was curious about that Temph dial in the middle section. I checked the manual and I must say that I remain confused but that probably says more about me than it does Wavegrove. Regardless, I’ll share it here: “Temph cooks the sound making it thicker in a reactive and level-dependent way.” So it’s audio gravy?.. nice!
Basically a box-tone control! At 0%, it's more of just the compression, at 100% you get more of the interaction of components etc. Could have probably explained it better in the manual!

Part of the original design! I'd look at it something different from the rest of the compressors. The volumes are before the clipper, so playing with the gains can definitely make it behave differently, as opposed to a dry/wet blend, which would normally be after processing!
Manley Technically own the word vari mu and is probably the reason why the term became popular in modern times versus calling it valve/tube compression like in the past

Gold clip has a crazy learning curve but once you figure it out it's BRILLIANT!!!

Not really...only in the case of sending to saturation etc...👍

This is a single comp with clipper... Shadow hills is 2 different comps. Not so much colour as the Shadow Hills.👍
