Harvesting so much crabs at one time will affect our future generation. Even though we're not going to be there, it's still important to keep sea creatures alive for our future generation.

Crabs outnumber people by the billions, there's no way people are gonna make a huge dent in crab population in fishing.

@@borntorazehell777 Human population continues to increase exponentially, and these fisherman show no care to preserving them. Your logic is flawed; it will take time, of course, but it is possible, and it is happening. Hence why they are being forced into deeper waters, and why catching them is forbidden in Spring (mating season). Face it, their numbers are decreasing to an alarming degree.

I've watch how American catches crabs and lobster. They always sizes them up and sorted. Returned the undersized and females specially with those carrying eggs back to the ocean to breed. A good example way of catching crabs and lobsters.

Notice how small these crabs are. The Japanese have no regard for preserving the species but will continue to mass fish until they are extinct. In the not too distant past, these Spider Crabs reached sizes up to 5.5 meters (18 ft) from claw to claw. The body could grow to a size of 40 cm (16 in) in carapace width and the whole crab can weigh up to 19 kilograms (42 lb). In most American waters, fishing regulations require returning female and juveniles to the ocean. Here, the Japanese take everything with no thought given to conservation. Sianara, Spider Crab.

As already commented, with the millions of tons of seafood taken from the oceans every year, one has to wonder just how this is sustainable. Some Countries are not concerned with sustainability and are purely concerned with an economics and volume. At some point, stocks are going to crash with this already happening. In many cases its all about todays catch and not the long term effects.
