I enjoy these tasting series that compare a few and just talk whisky, not ratings. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I think I would love any of these! Cheers!
Nice one Vin. I do like glenallachie. I’m not an unconditional fan of all their finishes, but these are very cool to put in a h2h to try and see where they are similar and where they differ. On a completely unrelated topic, I’ll be taking bets on how long you’ll manage to maintain the clean shaved look 😁. Cheers
Yeah they sent me like 5 samples but it made sense to keep this video to just these three. 🤣 I'm very prone to changing my mind on facial hair. But the beard won't be back for a while
Billy Walker does Sauternes... that I have to try.! Also yes, Noble Rot is a disease which sort of dries the grapes increasing their sugar content. GA 15 is a current fave so great to have a heads up on this wine series! Thx.
Great video Vin appreciate what you've done. To be honest its helped me i wasn't sure which way to go, im a Rioja fan anyway, well I was last time I drunk a red lol cheers mate be safe.
Really enjoyed the video! The first one with the Italian wine finish... tasting notes made me think of it either being a Dolcetto wine cask. I quite like Sauternes as a finish and have only ever had one disappointment in the Tullibardine Sauternes
For some reason only fortified wine casks works for me. Have no idea why. Madeira is fine and PX is wonderful. Port as well. There’s a Glenallachie for most tastes I suppose.
This is a good mini series highlighting the differences between most supermarket ‘entry’ whiskies and the next level. You’re right about these ‘guard’ whiskies….all decent sippers. They do however allow you to appreciate how good the next level whiskies are once you start to ramp up the ABV etc. Nice work Vin.
As always Vin attack - smashing review. Struggling to connect with Glenallachie; most recent 10yoCS b5 was my last attempt; people say wow wow wow, I say Arran Bodega is as good if not better (*personal opinion 😉). Sláinte maltmate 🥃
Good review Vin - I purchased the 13 yo rioja wine finish last week - early doors I've only had a couple of small pours but to my inexperienced palate it tastes like a confused toned down sherry cask, I'm enjoying it and will keep with it!
Just bought 3 of these, awaiting delivery. The Sauternes edition is very difficult to find in the UK now.

Cheers dude! Yeah no ratings here, not my bag for sure

The g15 is so good! I was very surprised by it

I'm glad it's been useful, as I doubt there are many people that are just picking up all three in the blink of an eye
Great head-to-head. Really interested in the Italian Wine Cask finish!
I wonder if they'll reach over to you. Let me know if you see them anywhere around you

Sauternes is something I hadn't really taken notice of until Cotswolds release an expression. That bottle did not last long in my house

It happens! I'm the other way, and send to not be a fan sherry and the like. It's beauty of whisky!
@@NoNonsenseWhisky yes. More choice can only be good

I get the feeling that it'll be one of those whiskies that changes as the bottle goes down.
@@NoNonsenseWhisky I think you're probably right Vin I'll keep you posted - if you want another sample let me know 👍
