Fascinating, I hope we can find more & more natural ingredients that can beat diseases, less medication as necessary
This sound interesting but I have one concern. There is a lot of research of the dangers of being near or consuming blue green algae. In Germany they sampled a batch of different Klamath Lake supplements, the majority had a level of a substance that promotes ALS and Parkinson"s disease . If this risk wasn't there , I would be open to this idea. If anyone could convince me this is incorrect, I would look at taking AFA extract for the claimed benefits. I have known two people who have ended up with ALS a most horrible disease that destroys the motor neurons and control of all bodily functions, that has no cure.

Supplemental algae produced in facilities would be unlikely to contain the toxic form of algae that causes the auxotrophal gene transfer.

While spirulina certainly exists abundantly in that lake, there are so many varieties of bacteria and/or algae, I wonder if her studies include it or exclude it. Be certain that the typical dry powder form of spirulina is not a significant contributor. Notice in the video that the samples are in a liquid suspension. There is a huge difference between fresh and dried or frozen spirulina. Dried spirulina is a marketing construct with little value as a health benefit. And sadly confusing.
How do you know the dry spirulina has a little valve of health benefit?!?!?! Tested by you?!?! Which supplements and medicine received by you is not in dry form
@@boonkailee8237 that was a bit bold, so to qualify it... As you probably know, spirulina can vary in quality from manufacturer to manufacturer. My old favorite was Super Blue green Algae from Hawaii. I think it was freeze dried.
Since you seem familiar with the powder, notice the slight fishy smell it has. That is actually decomposition primarily from the B vitamins. This is unavoidable in the manufacturing. Some more, some less. You will notice that the labels have a recommended dosage, I have never seen it claim more than a couple grams. Reason for this is, you will begin to experience gas or bloating. Moreso, the nutrient content being degraded through the decomp will start working against any benefits beyond a small dose. This is a big issue with people who already have digestive imbalances. Think of munching on a salad made with slimy old lettuce.
Historically, spirulina was harvested and slightly dewatered then eaten fresh and not stored so all the BS they spout on about the Aztecs and such has nothing to with the modern construct of the product. Two different things.
Fresh spirulina paste is a food product, meaning not processed. Just like a head of lettuce, and keeps about the same amount of time. It is a live food.
The powder is a processed supplement. You can eat a pound of it everyday with no digestive challenges vs a few grams of the powder.
Sure, I grow it for a couple of doctors in my area so I am a little biased. I've had mine evaluated by a nutritionist with a lab. What I found is that nearly all of the benefits that are claimed for spirulina apply to the fresh product. It is the dry manufacturers that have hijacked the data and falsely promote what they have. There is a wealth of info at rawlivingspirulina dot... Hope this helps
