From a mom... take your time. You don't need to figure it all out right now. DO: Set goals... short term, mid term, and long term. They will likely change a bit over time, but it's helpful to have an idea of your plan. Set aside money each month in savings (even $100) towards retirement. I wish I had done so all of these! Really appreciate the experiences you have been given, and keep in contact with friends via phone and FaceTime. It's so nice to hear a voice. Love your family. Keep a journal. Find something that brings you JOY everyday, and don't skip it.
Welcome home, Kira! 2 bits of advice- #1 - always say I love you to those who are dear to you when you leave or end a phone call. I was talking to my friend, Pol, one day and after chatting for a couple of hours, I got ready to leave. As I was leaving, a gut feeling made me turn back and say, I love you, Pol, you know that, right? He smiled and said, I know. I love you too. That was our last conversation. 3 days later, he had a sudden massive heart attack. Always stop and say I love you. Advice #2 - never go to sleep angry. Whether it's a friend or a family member. This goes back to my previous statement. You never know when that last word will be your last word.
When I was 54 I had a stroke that paralyzed me on the left side. I got aphasia and had trouble talking. Almost 23 years later I've regained about 95% of what I lost but aphasia still hits when I'm tired. My husband is 83. Since my stroke we say "I love you" all the time. We say it before going to sleep and anytime we leave each other's presence. We are well aware it could be the last at any time and we don't want regrets.

Congratulations Kira! Kira never say never about "never going back to college." My youngest daughter graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor degree and thought she was done with school too. Then in 2016 she put herself through a 2 yr cosmetology college to become fully licensed in our state. Then Covid hit and she stopped doing hair. She now has a wonderful job working in Hawaii with hospice care and has decided to go for her MBA this fall, all while keeping her full-time job. Learning, whether in school or out allows us to continue to feed our minds!
Congratulations, Kira!! You and Gabe are just about a year older than my youngest son. He is high functioning autistic and he is a full-time volunteer firefighter and landscaper. My middle son is only a year or two older than Nick. I love the family vlogs. It's like catching up with friends!
