love it the exploration and the feeling of progression amazing it also introduces fear into you a bit when you have to sneak past the emmis that feeling of something virtualy invincible and able to oneshot you makes it more satisfying when you finaly beat them
Metroid Dread is definitely no prime, but it is fantastic. The game really gets your curiosity going like a book. You’re just dying to know what happens next
Prime isn’t Metroid. Metroid is 2d sidescroller. Prime is its own thing. Dread is what Metroid has always been and it’s great
@@surestrange Prime is Metroid since it features the same character
Can’t wait to play it at midnight on my switch lite with headphones on and low light it’s going to be sweet!!
2:21 At least the QTEs are not as intrusive as, say, Sonic Unleashed. And If you counter correctly during said events, you get to get all up in their face and unload on them during the cutscenes, _in real time._
A proper review. Thank you.
The parry mechanic during boss fights actually encourages you to fight the old way. Although it looks impressive, you use way more missles, and do way less damage. In harder difficulties, its crucial to save your missles.
The Lady has still got it!
This game was a 10 in my book.
indeed
Ok, but it wasn't for him, and that's fine
@@shlokwaghela9560 Lmao it wasn't a dig at the reviewer?
@@theresurrection6561 It is, many people come to ign exclusive to dunk on the reviewer for not conforming to their opinion and it's pathetic
@@shlokwaghela9560 Dude your Dense if you think this was a dig at the reviewer. he just gave his own opinion.
This does look amazing
3:32 "Oh, found a door, must enter"
3:33 'NOPE"
Classic “stumble into a superheated room” moment lol
I've never really played a Metroid game, but to me this 2D Metroid is very appealing and makes me want to play it :)
If this game doesn't win the goty... There is no justice in this world
Oh how I’ve dreamed of housemarque making a Metroid game. Returnal was very close and is EASILY my game of the year and best 5 game by a mile. But the story and character elements and potential Metroid could bring and housemarque’s crack cocaine gameplay would be a match made in gaming heaven
This isn’t the end of mainline Metroid, just the conclusion of the Metroid-Samus Arc
That's what confuses me.. if the metroids are finally exterminated here.. how will new series be titled?
@@johnny-mnemonic13 probably will still be titled metroid, as the meaning of the word is "ultimate warrior" in chozo language. And plus, Samus got metroid DNA in her blood since fusion.
I'm going to go ahead and sound crazy but IGN has the best Metroid dread review out there right now
Great job to the reviewer!
Great game. Just wish the music were better and for each area to look more unique.
Music was def the weakest part for me
Agree, my only two complaints
Looks awesome and one of the only reasons I'd buy a Switch.
