*Thanks for stopping by again folks! I really appreciate it. I gave a longer video a go this time for a laugh. Hope you enjoy it. Share some ice fishing stories below if you'd like, I'd sure love to hear them! Until next time, cheers!*

Thanks man I appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed
Thanks man. Pouch Cove Elementary? I remember you brother. It's been awhile!
Thanks man I really appreciate that. I respect everyone doing this but also think people from abroad should see our landscape more. It's definitely different than the rest and needs to be exposed for tripping because of that. Such a unique challenge. The AWR is a very cool remote wilderness experience so close to SJ. And hardly anybody goes into the heart of it. If you're ever looking to go on a haul drop me a line and maybe we could connect. Cheers buddy, great talking!

Hey, Justin where did you buy your tent and wood stove too?
My wife and I are addicted to your channel. Best channel on RUclips. You make us miss NL with every episode. My wife loves Saku!
Thanks happy to have you both! More to come cheers from the Rock. Atb
Justin,
Well done again, I was raised in Newfoundland. Now living in Alaska. Your adventures are the best. Cheers my friend to you and Saku!!
Your dog is worth a thumbs up alone! Such a good dog.
Toutins or fry bread for the rest of the world! Yesssss sir!
I've been to Newfoundland a few times, even built a cabin on Ocean Pond near Jeffries. Caught plenty of nice fish there. Absolutely love Newfoundland! Great people, great wildernesses , only place I ever saw a Caribou. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing
Really enjoy your videos and the affection you show Saku. Thanks for the videos. What a great experience for us, too. From La Union, New Mexico.
Thanks Victor, I really appreciate the message and you subscribing to the channel. Best wishes from Newfoundland. More vids to come 👍 Have a great summer

Hey Justin! My dad loved this one and he has been dying to have some Brookie! I love your tent and It looks like a lot of fun!
For a brief moment I could feel what Saku was feeling. It felt good!
Very nice ! Thanks for taking us along . ATB
Hey Justin, you can go to Canadian tire and buy fire logs, they burn for about 8 too 10 hours, they only cost about 8 dollars. They give off good heat. There great for winter camping.
Bud,awesome video,great fishing,great food...miss it so much!!! all the best !!!!
All kinds of outdoor goodness and some dandy feeds!
Living the good life brother.
Great watching as always.
See ya ✌️❄️🔥🍻
Great video! Thanks for providing. Saku is an deadly dog man.
I like your tent. Very cozy inside with the fire burning, those food looks so good. The best part was icefishing! That kettle was very handy.
Nothing like fresh, non-hatchery raised, speckled trout. I enjoyed your videos, subscribed a couple months ago. Keep them coming. God Bless, Greg
Newfane Relic Hunters G & R thanks Greg I appreciate it man! The fresh trout are second to none. Beats anything from the supermarket.
You say you can't eat the heart ?
One of the best meals you can have when camping is a grand feed of rabbit and partridge stew combined, along of course with the hearts and gizzards with a fresh slab of home made bread , and a hot cup of tea,,,, YUM I SAY
As always thanks for taking me along love the tent
joe delaney thanks for watching Joe!
Yeah
I appreciate that you care so well for the pup. Love his floppy ears. :)
Thank you Sonya, gotta look after my boy. His ears are adorable for sure
Your outdoor videos are some of the best and most natural on the entire Internet! One of these days, Justin bye, they'll be calling to offer you your own show.
Thanks for watching Frank I really appreciate that!
Can’t beet the toutons in the mornings especially cooked on the camp stove. Bread for toast stuck to the side is great as well especially homemade raisin 👍
Nothing makes me want to get out there and winter camp more than your videos. Keep up the good work! Oh and one more thing...Lets Go Pens! LOL
Go habs go 👍 thanks for watching
Excellent video man, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching man, I appreciate it! Cheers
Another awesome trip. Thanks for taking us along. Good food, good beers, good times. Some lovely pink mud trout too. Put a few bows over the holes to prevent them from freezing so fast.
Thanks for watching Chad. Does that work even overnight? I seen it done when I was a young fella from my cousin in Bauline, he'd do it while we were in by the fire. But I had long forgotten it after spending a cpl decades of winters away from the woods and in the rinks. You just sparked my memory to do that next time. Appreciate the advice man.
Justin Barbour it will work overnight. It's still going to catch over with ice but it won't freeze nearly as much.
Wicked Chad, hope all is well buddy. Thanks again
Love the hockey bag for outdoor gear. Great idea
super trip.... nice trout.. again love the tunes
Thanks pal!! Appreciate it
Love your episodes. Keep up the good work.
cool i need to see this again ty
that was a great fishing trip .looks like your tent and stove makes a nice comfy winter camping trip ..now to go home and have a feed of trout ..see you next trip .enjoyed your video
Excellent videos...I’m a Newfoundlander living in Florida year round...I miss some things about Newfoundland but not the snow..
looking at some of your older videos. What a luck man you are to have these adventures and thank you for sharing. If you had 9 more Sakus, you wouldn't have to pull your sled!!! :-)
Haha true thanks for watching Kirk!
There's only one Sakus !
Great video. Look forward to seeing your future videos. Thanx for sharing your experience.
Thanks for coming along for the ride and the kind comments, I really appreciate it. Stay tuned for more, cheers!
Holy bejesus would you look at the colour of those trout!!! Used to catch a lot up north in Quebec, but a very different colour. We fried some in the morning, gutted and beheaded, and thrown in the pan so fast they were still moving!
I never ice fished for them though. Pike and perch mostly. Awesome video. Nice to see you take your time and enjoy, and let us relax a bit with you.
Thanks Jim I appreciate it. They were certainly great looking trout and even tastier to eat. I have never fished for Pike or Perch but would love too someday. Glad you enjoyed the video, cheers!
as someone that's old and can't get out . this is big fun for me my son! :)
Great video Justin, looked like a really fun time. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Haven't been winter camping in many years. Can't wait to try it again. First I have to get a tipi and woodstove. I've only camped in a 4 season tent before. The hot tent looks so cozy and comfortable.
It's a time Jeff, real simple and invigorating. thanks for watching!
Thanks!
great stuff! really really enjoyed it! thanks for taking us along!
Thanks Jeff I appreciate the kind words, glad you enjoyed it!
Terrific camping. Eating well and catching fish!
Looks to me the same camp and stove setup style used by the Naskapi and Montagnais Innu of Labrador , Canada . They have used this type of setup for thousands of years , nonetheless however animal skins were the choice of camp material before canvass. Good video.
True
Haha it's so awesome how much hockey you have in ya. 3:03 you even have the hockey stance. Missing tooth and hockey accent
haha wicked comment. You play?
Love these vids man i used to live on bell island and in around st johns area but i never went out and saw the rock like you sir great content makes me want to move back there !
That big breakfast must have been wonderful out there...peace
Well done Justin! Enjoyed your video!
Living in Maine, USA I have seen a lot of brook trout throughout the years but I have never seen trout with dark speckles all over the underside like that. Very interesting. Learn something new every day, I guess. Done tons of ice fishing myself. I love the low tech method you use. Good on you, brother.
Thanks Tony. Those spots are black spot parasites. Only affects the look of the skin. The trouts health itself or any human/predator that eats them are unaffected. All the best
Your dog is so well behaved! Great trip... would love to camp with you! So prepared... & the fish, oh my!!
Thank you Allison, glad you enjoyed it!! Saku is a great boy for sure.
Awesome job barbs, felt like I was there with ya..can’t wait for the next one!! Go leafs go!!
Thanks Jamie I appreciate man. And keep that Leaf profanity down, you're going to get yourself banned from RUclips comments, lol.
The more i watch your video the more i see where your from is just like the US.. I live in Philippines now and believe i do not miss the snow!!
thanx for bring us along....great video...luv your channel
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
yes good a good time my son .thank you justin . ! and was nicer the next time i look :)
Please tell Saku I apologize for saying his name with a Japanese flair. I now call him Sacku. It sounds like the way you pronounce it. Always a great treat....your vids and the
sausage sliver he got. I am amazed at how he just sits there while you are placing the goods right on your lap. Good DOG! I haven't gotten to the fish part yet but looking at the comment below it sounds like Saku is ready. God Bless ya, your dog and your future adventures.
nice tidy camp old boy--I like your style
rod macqueen thanks Rod, you can eat off the floor 👌
Woooo buddy looked cold out there. Your a tough dude😃 I use to get out there when I lived in Michigan. But the warm weather in Arkansas has spoiled me.

Never been more homesick in 5 yrs than now thanks haha Wicked video buddy!
Ice fishing is my absolute favorite winter passtime. Here on Pei you're not allowed to ice fish for trout, just smelts and I'm not a big fan of smelts.
All your grub had me drooling over here. Fun times, thanks for sharing, wife and I look forward to the next one :D
Thanks Twiggy, glad I could bring you along. I appreciate it! Smelt are deadly, give them a second chance, all you need is good spices. You can cook like a champ based on your videos I have seen so there's worries there. Cheers buddy
LMAO !!! Love the Saku-cam. First time seeing this video.
Loved your ice fishing show in that gully. So jealous man. Lovely trout

Thanks Wallace I appreciate it ol buddy
I also subbed to your channel, dandy vids!
thanks Justin
All those little black spot's on those trout is caused by a virus picked up from eating Loon droppings. No harm to the trout. Great video.
2:15 - Go Justin, go! Beat that thing up, yeah! LOL
Very well done!
Great video, love the walking away shots!
Thank you I appreciate it!

Thanks buddy, Saku and I appreciate it. Cheers!
yummy you mean rabbit stew lol lol looks to tasty
playin bass along with the song...nice...
Great video! My family and I moved to Newfoundland last year. We came from Port Colborne, Ontario. I fished all my life for bass, walleye, pike, perch and musky. I'm new to trout fishing. Would love to see how you clean and cook your trout. Do you keep the skin on? We bought ourselves a cabin near Howley and apparently it's excellent for fishing. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
Thanks for tuning in and the kind words! Skin on when I cook them. If you don't like to eat it when you pan fry them it comes of pretty easily. I skin them from vent (bum) to gills. Nothing to it. Have fun on the Rock! I heard Howley is great too. And keep your eyes on my channel or hit the bell if you want, new video series coming soon! Cheers and enjoy the holidays, Justin.
Great video cheers i just was out in town for the weekend great time keep em comming
Thanks Jim buddy, I appreciate it. Hope you enjoyed your trip into Sin Jawns, cheers!
As always, another great video.
Paul Thistle thanks Paul much appreciated
Way to go Justin....and good on ya for keeping it real, beware the swag and sponsors, I can't watch Joe Robinette and Shawn James anymore with their ski-doos (with heated trailers for the dog), ATVs, pizza ovens and Fjallraven brassieres. Love it by the fire with the dogs. I want to get out to the Rock now, Thx
joe was a stealth "poser" from the start of his "bushcraft" series; almost every implement was a merchandising "hawk". This stuff might be what city slickers like but older folks mostly hand crafted many of their backwoods implements & many were handed down for generations, sadly much of that craftsmanship is no longer common. Used to be a fellar could use a compass to "orienteer" his way in the woods; today GPS is all the techies know. If you handed 'em a topo map & compass they'd be lost.
